I love Harrison Ford. He’s a very intelligent man who loves acting in great stories. Thank goodness, because he has enriched so many of our lives as a result. There aren’t too many actors who jump off the screen like he does. He, also, has worked hard to protect our planet. He’s an amazing person. I hope he knows how much we all love him. ♥️♥️♥️
How he talks about his craft with such love and appreciation for it and the filmmakers as well as emphasizing how much he pushes himself to keep developing as an actor is inspiring.
He sounds like a very down to earth, calm and polite man who has no interest in hyping up everything he says or "acting out for the camera". He's just being him.
An author saw him act, and was impressed by how much he communicated with each word or gesture. That Ford gives the right amount to draw you in, to force you to pay attention.
Also he has a wonderful sense of humor..... "There's a book??' The look on his face is priceless. I think the others have missed it or even worse, don't get it. (swoosh!) Right over their heads!
It’s always been a little hard to read Harrison Ford in the public eye, but honestly I appreciate that he leaves his expression for his characters on screen. This is the most candid I think he’s ever been in an interview and it’s really nice to understand more of his perspective.
For someone who doesn't express much emotion in describing his career, all his acting choices involved him looking for a feeling and emotional connection to his characters. It's like he was searching for emotion.
If you were asked the same questions about the same series over and over, it's only natural to be irritated. Good to hear his perspective on the other stuff
@@robertandruw7647 I think indiana jones had elements he liked like egyptology, geography, being in new locations--stuff you could feel and touch...star wars is space fantasy filmed with green screen nowadays. He's even in an archeology organization.
Yeah I think for him especially the character had much more depth. I mean George Lucas and Spielberg began writing based on their own alternative version of James Bond, and added a lot of depth to the character outside of just an action star. This is also what makes rewatches so awesome and especially for Harrison Ford’s consistent performance of the character.
He may not like all of the movies, but I think it's clear that he likes making them. It may also seem like he doesn't like the movies because he doesn't like doing interviews.
I actually disagree with you on that. Considering how reticent and jaded Harrison Ford is, I couldn't imagine him doing something he didn't want to do or not care for at his age. As Old School as he is, and as rich as he is at this point, he'd only devote his later years to a movie if he truly wanted to do it.
One thing about him is he knows how to dress. Perfectly cut clothes with little details. Apparently when they do photo shoots with this guy they use his own clothes. Honestly I think Harrison gets a bad reputation because people have this idea of what an actor should be like (all animated and expressive) and he doesn’t fit the mold. You have to remember he’s old school, pragmatic. At the end of the day he does it for money, not the fame. It’s just a lucrative job for him. I can respect that.
I agree with m taylor, he chose roles for the story and richness of character and the challenge. Money grew because he’s good at his job! I think awards mean little also, because it matters what “he” thinks mostly. As it should be. I only wish really important jobs like “good” educators, healthcare and safety workers, etc, had more value. And Politicians only had two terms period! Lose the losers i say. Sorry, i digress!
I actually like the way that Harrison Ford acts differently compared to other celebrities. He seems much more down-to-earth and not just overly-enthusiastic about the littlest things. Like, you know you did something impressive if you can impress him.
IMO he's well aware of the divide between character and actor, and basically dislikes anyone or anything that wants him to play a real-life role as anything other than himself, an insane, utter perfectionist about the art and craft of acting, storytelling and film.
He reminds me of my grandpa ❤️ every day conversations he’s very laid back, deep rolling voice, doesn’t gloat, doesn’t brag, doesn’t get animated unless he’s truly passionate about something. I miss conversations with him. 😩
For Harrison Ford fans this was very gratifying to watch. I can't tell if he's being forgetful or bored during some of those pauses, probably both LOL, but seriously it was thoroughly entertaining to hear him talk about some of the films of his varied, long and extraordinary career in film.
Meh...the interview was okay. Because I am a fan, I'd expect for him to bring up...as in just mentioning, that he hurt his back on Temple of Doom or a little of River Phoenix (who he recommended for the beginning of The Last Crusade)... What I did like is how he really talked about the working of directors and about him being the bad guy for What Lies Underneath. Fun Fact: Bob Zemeckis filmed WLU in the year break he had to wait for Tom Hank to lose all that weight safely for Castaway...
They missed Six Days, Seven Nights, Ender's Game, and Age of Adaline though. DX I would have loved to hear his opinion on those movies. C'mooonnnn... I don't think we needed to hear how Harrison Ford hates Star Wars for 500th time.
jav retama, why mention things he has said again? And this is careeer timeline so it’s less trivia of the films but why he made the films he did and how he did end up in those roles.
I think he's genuine but also isn't a big fan of "celebrity" and all that comes with it, so some of these self-gratifying style interviews don't seem to be something he enjoys doing even if he does them.
He’s so nonchalant and casual when talking about these films, but when you watch them, you can tell he’s always pouring his heart and soul into each performance. He’s like the gruff grandpa with the hidden soft heart; he cares much more than he will admit.
I love Harrison Ford because he's authentic. A craftsman. He constructs characters the way a good carpenter creates a portico. The way a good novelist constructs a book; a good artist constructs a painting. And he dislikes pretention.

The shock, that Harrison Ford was the actual villain of "What Lies Beneath," was made so much more epic because of Harrison's established reputation of the hero. The entire movie is so well twisted, and Michelle Pfeiffer's performance with/against Harrison's make it one of the greatest suspense films of all time.
My Ol’ Lady watches this at least twice a month. Me being 45, it’s def weird seeing Han, Indie, Jack Ryan, etc being the bad guy. And he is very much a bad guy. It’s really cool.
Even I as a total kid, felt like I knew Ford as always the hero - he really played into the "look.... I'm the hero! Always! Give me Hero roles! Please! Everyone else is bad!"
It wasn't about the coin flip. He wanted to go to LA in the first place and would've barged through ANY metaphysical reason to make it happen. If NY won the coin flip, he would've made it "3 out of 5" - if NY won again, he would've made it "5 out of 7" and so on - until he ended up in LA, the warm climate that he was looking for. That coin toss story is a thing BECAUSE it's a gag - we are meant to see how determined he was to get to LA, not because of career or destiny or acting even, but just because he wanted to go to LA.
Out of all of all the amazing movies Harrison Ford has done, I think my favorite is probably "Regarding Henry" followed closely by "Presumed Innocent" and "American Graffiti". Of course, the "Star Wars" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" series are incredibly amazing too. He's had an amazing career to be involved in so many great movies.
Mosquito Coast is one of his more uncharacteristic movies. He's not 'the good guy'. That one with Michelle Pfeiffer where he's the bad guy are two of the rare ones where he plays against type. But The Fugitive is a classic as well.

Yeah I think for him especially the character had much more depth. I mean George Lucas and Spielberg began writing based on their own alternative version of James Bond, and added a lot of depth to the character outside of just an action star.
@@cqtaylor it's not always clear a movie is going to be bad just from reading the script.

Nicolas lol ok and it’s just a comment loser
It wasn't about the coin flip. He wanted to go to LA in the first place and would've barged through ANY metaphysical reason to make it happen. If NY won the coin flip, he would've made it "3 out of 5" - if NY won again, he would've made it "5 out of 7" and so on - until he ended up in LA, the warm climate that he was looking for. That coin toss story is a thing BECAUSE it's a gag - we are meant to see how determined he was to get to LA, not because of career or destiny or acting even, but just because he wanted to go to LA.
Never tell me the odds.
