This interview was phenomenal. You reached him in a way that not many interviewers do it can. When you got emotional so did he. Tip of the fedora to you..
Harrison felt that at the end. That hit him in the heart. Yes it’s a job, but he should take more credit for the life he gives to these characters and the way they touch people. The interviewer said it best: If I was ever having a hard time as a kid, Indiana Jones was always there to take me away for a little while for an adventure. And so much of that is Harrison’s doing

You could see at the end, when the interviewer said it helped kids when times were tough, that it got to Harrison Ford so deeply. That big smile and cheerful squint made the moment so precious..
I’ve known Harrison since he was this wise-ass kid in American Graffiti and followed him through the galaxy and through the Amazon jungles. Fact is there was a line in his movie that said “a dog? you were named after a dog?” So, I name my puppy “Indiana” or INDY for short. So when I call Indy, I remember the star!!!
5:03 the most genuine smile i’ve ever seen from Ford. You can tell those words of appreciation really reached him, and it really did feel like he (the interviewer) was speaking for us all as he said it.
Greatest interview ever. I'm so glad to see the interviewer expressed to Harrison how much he meant to all of us in this role. And how we absolutely could be whisked away when having a bad day bad week and can go on an adventure for a couple hours to recharge
A buddy of mine father built Harrison Ford’s air plane.. he was nice enough to get his autograph for me.. he even personalized it for me by saying “ I shot first “ next to my wife and kids it’s the biggest treasure I have.. and it will never leave this house…
Thanks for telling me that. Because on the News I'm mostly hurt about the bad reviews. And I just wanna let Everyone knew that I disagree with those bad reviews AndThat I'm very much enjoyed the movie.
I have really enjoyed seeing Ford in interviews for this movie lately. He just seems so genuinely appreciative of fans and seems to be very thoughtful of the career he's led. I know the film hasn't done so well, but it has really brought out a lot of love for him and his career. I hope he understand how genuinely appreciative people are of his career and the wonderful films he's been able to bring us.
It’s charming seeing Harrison like this. If you know his history, he’s not so much a fan of this side of Hollywood and fandom. But to see him be touched by the way his art genuinely reach a fan, was just fantastic.
Dude if he was really into a character toy would not be in a box. Children play with toys not admire them in boxes. 10$ says his production staff gave him this toy 20 minutes before the interview.
Harrison Ford is one of those actors who come along once in a lifetime that has had such an impact on Hollywood and in people's lives. Such a legend and an incredible human being.

Man, the bit about how as a child you could have terrible shit going on at home or school but you’d put on a VHS/DVD and just watch these movies over and over - yeah, that got me. It was Indiana Jones, it was Back to the Future, it was Moulin Rouge, LOTR old Disney movies- and it genuinely helped me through some really tough times in childhood. So yeah, thank you Harrison Ford.
I am 38 and I grew up with Indiana Jones movies like many others. I am having a very difficult time in my life just when Dial of Destiny was released. It helped me feel better the same way his movies used to cheer me up when I was a little kid.
5:03 Harrison’s smile. I feel that Harrison only saw the adults praising his roles and never saw the kids escaping their reality to watch his films. The interviewer helped him realize or remember that it’s the children who get lost in the fantasy and the adults are the products of those moments.
What a wonderful interview, well done!!! 🙏. Grew up with Indy also, saw the last crusade in the cinema, such good times, you captured an incredibly special moment in your interview, and will treasure it forever im sure 🙏best wishes from Yorkshire, England
Dear Brent, First of all, thank you. I am a 57 year old high school teacher in Portland, Oregon. Your interview was just fantastic and you did such a terrific job of listening and basically holding it together which I really admire and deeply respect. The comments you made regarding how important Harrison Ford and the characters he has portrayed were to you and so many others who had hard times as a kid, were so genuinely beautiful and so right on that this old cluck just burst out in tears like a three year old. Indiana Jones has always been a refuge for me when the world becomes overwhelming and so much of that has to do with Ford's ability to take on the character of the "everyman," despite the fact he was portraying such an exceptional hero. He did this with Han as well. I can remember going to the theatre alone in 8th grade to see Raiders of the Lost Ark in Phoenix in 1981. As I found my seat, I can still clearly recall my excitement and almost nervousness. I loved Star Wars but NOW I was going to get two hours with Han Solo all to myself! That was exactly how I remember looking at it. And then the film started. That first complete shot of Indy stepping into the light after relieving one of his company of a gun with a whip was when I knew that this wasn't going to be a Han Solo movie. It was going to a lot better than anything my 13 year old brain could have ever believed. Since then, Indie has gotten me, and so many others, through dark times by believing that anything is possible, a sense of humor goes a long way and that the qualities WE ALL admire in our heroes can be ours. It is only a matter of discovering them within ourselves. I'm still searching and that's okay. Indiana is too. Thank you again for absolutely lighting up my day Brent. You did such a great job and Harrison was so moved by what you said which was I believe, what so many would have wanted to tell him if they had been there. Now that's a great reporter. Cheers.
Hi Chris! What a great message... Thank you so much... I've done lots of interviews in the past, but this one really was just speaking from the heart. Ever since I realized this was going to sort of be my career, I had in my head that Harrison Ford was number one on my wish list. I'm not sure I ever thought it would actually happen, because he's such a hard one to pin down... But thanks to some great friends and colleagues, it happened, and I could not have imagined it going as well as it did. Harrison was very forthcoming, and Phoebe was incredibly patient with my hero worship. It was a pretty surreal experience. On my show I often talki about how I appreciate teachers and what they do, and that they aren't thanked or compensated nearly enough.... So thank you for what you do, and I hope you occasionally sneak a relevant Harrison Ford scene into the curriculum. bb
@@BrentBlack Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it and thank you of course, for your regard for teachers. Wow, Harrison Ford actually cared about this interview. Despite what he says, I think Indiana Jones is extra special to him. He knows that it's a character that will last forever.
I think it's less indiana jones specifically as a character, but more what the character and it's movies have done for the audience. It's impact. So I don't think it's Indiana Jones specifically.
Flashback to 1984. "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" had just come out. Being a big Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones fan, I wrote him a fan letter. I definitely didn't expect a response, knowing the tens of thousands of letters he must receive every on a daily basis. I just wanted to let him know how much I enjoy the films, focusing on his portrayal of the intrepid archaeologist/relic hunter. About a month later, I received a large envelope from his agent, Patricia McQueeney. Inside was a personally autographed photo of Mr. Ford as Indiana Jones ("To Roland - Best Wishes, Harrison Ford"). "Over the moon" couldn't even begin to describe how I felt. Forty (!) years later, I still hope that our paths might cross one day so I could thank him in person for his kindness...and yes, I still have the photo and the envelope it came in, safely tucked away in a drawer. 🥰
I understand. I got an autographed photo of James Drury (the _Virginian_ from the 1960s/1970s TV show; childhood hero). Framed it and put it on my wall. Only autograph I have from anyone. He passed away not long after I got it from him.
Wow, you really drew the best response out of Harrison Ford. You really touched him and he was moved to tell you how much you and his craft moves him and gives him joy. Beautiful.
I can absolutely relate to how you must have felt during this interview. I met an entertainer that did similar things for me in my childhood. I told them, they reacted in a similar way. It was an incredible moment with a hero. Glad you got your moment too!
Wow an interview that’s genuinely heartwarming and from a genuine fan like myself. So true when things were awful in life I went to Indiana jones and Star Wars and lotr. These films made me feel happy and relaxed in very bad times. Glad Harrison ford understands how important he is en was in these films. One of the best actors ever to me.
The interviewer was correct. When I was young I would get scared a lot. I was an avid horror fan too but it did me no favors lol. But I would often think of Indiana Jones fighting bad men and rescuing people and being a hero. He was a man, although fictional, was a man every boy would want to be when he grew up. Indy will always have a place in my heart.
Shoutout to Harrison Ford. Truly one of the final gentleman in Hollywood -- a dying breed no doubt. It's sad and tragic, but HF has cemented his legacy as an all-time great in the profession. No rip off, contemporary films will rob him of that. I salute you, sir.
The reason this character is so beloved other than the obvious of how charismatic Harrison Ford is. I know for me growing up watching these films with my Dad, I looked to him as my own personal Indiana Jones always being amazed at the things he could do that I hadn’t learned yet. Getting to go sit at a theater and watch the final chapter unfold with my Indiana Jones is a memory I’ll cherish for years to come.
Wonderful interview especially by the interviewer. Harrison Ford as we all know is a great actor and a man of humility. I wish that we could all just stay at age 40..
I love this man so much. Growing up on Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Rick Deckard, Richard Kimble, John Book, Jack Ryan etc. truly has made him a living legend to me, and i hope he continues making movies for as long as possible.

Amazing! So cool you got to not only convey to him how much him/his films meant to you as a kid, but the fact it clearly effected him greatly, and nearly made him cry is just so cool. Very great interviewing skills as well.
Totally agree, The Last Crusade was the first live action movie i saw, at the theater, with my father, when i was 6 , so i have a special place in my heart for Indy, and still to this day, one of my favorite movies of all time.
I went to the Concert for NYC at Madison Square Garden two weeks after 9/11. Harrison Ford was one of the celebrities walking around the floor, saying hi to the Firefighters and Police, talking with everyone and being such a genuine, kind human being. I watched as he held a widow, listened to her, and took time to really hear her and offer true compassion. Everyone in tears. I'll never forget him and that moment.
Great interview! Worth it for his reaction and how heartfelt it was. You got to speak for a lot of lifelong fans. Thank you. I've loved all the movies and this latest one also.
Historically, Harrison has always been critical of how much people associate him with Indiana Jones. I think this interaction made him really actualize how much the characters he plays means to people.
WOW! this is honestly the first time I've ever seen Harrison Speaks so much about his role as an actor. You did such a fantastic job with how you worded everything you said; you truly did an amazing job capturing the words so many movie fans probably think in their heads and wish they had the opportunity to tell him and many people they grew up watching! Great work Brent!
Ah, thank you so much. It was an exercise in restraint to be given just 5 minutes and know the clock is ticking, you have 100 questions, but you just have to let him speak.
This made me emotional!!! What a skilled and charismatic guy the interviewer is. Been a life long Indiana jones fan I know a million ppl are - it was cool you made a point of telling him this though
This touches my heart deeply, when he's talking about time and the end of Indiana's life I feel he's talking about himself, makes me wanna cry, I love Harrison Ford so much
Its funny because although Harrison Ford says he loves all his past roles the same - there is a huge difference in how he talks about Indiana Jones vs Han Solo lol
Having the opportunity tell your hero how much he means to you is a rare thing indeed, especially considering how old he is now. This is something to be truly cherished.
This hit me right in the feels. I'm sorry things were not easy for you growing up - and I don't want to minimise how that must have felt. But if theres any upshot to it, look at how kind, and empathetic it helped you to be. You spoke from the heart and in a kind way and I think that will always resonate with others. The world would be so much better if we could only normalise thanking other people and telling them how much they have helped us and how much we appreciate them.
I read a comment on Instagram by someone who said, ‘Harrison Ford hates what he does’. Wish I could show them this interview. Dear Brent,
First of all, thank you.

Wow, Harrison Ford actually cared about this interview. Despite what he says, I think Indiana Jones is extra special to him. He knows that it's a character that will last forever.

Aww, thank you so much. Total dream.
I had never seen this man speak as much as he did answering this fan
Beautiful.

@stalkermonolith4841 lmao sure he does. Keep telling yourself that.
@MaccamatBux he doesn't care about it because he knows he's a tool to tell the story. He hears the directors thoughts and understands more then what's put on screen.
