I do!! But, I know that they won't. From Jaws, forward, with Steven; from American Graffiti to Dial of Destiny, with Harrison. It's been a wonderful ride! Found myself in tears at the end of Destiny, knowing that this was goodbye to Indy. Did the same with Star Wars Ep 7, saying goodbye to Han. Thank you, guys, for such wonderful memories!

I really enjoyed the film. It took me right back to Raiders. Lots of humour, great cinematography, great action and chase sequences. And that wonderful score by John Williams.And Indy, the same character that we know and love. So why the backlash? I heard there were rewrites because they were planning to kill off Indy like Han Solo. So pleased for those rewrites. We want to see our heroes have their swan song, their final adventure, without diminishing them with misandry and ageist jokes, which I believe were toned down for this movie. Its a real shame. But definitely a bluray keeper.😀
I think the backlash is because Disney owns the franchise now and people love to hate Disney. I really enjoyed the film, thought it would be duff after the negative reviews.

@@roasthunter Also I think critics were ridiculously harsh on this film, considering the shit that Hollywood pumps out endlessly that somehow gets decent reviews. I think it was because they were too easy on Crystal Skull and figured they'd make up for it by bashing this one. But this one didn't deserve it.

An extremely well-done, well executed sequel and fitting end. Has a lot of heart and done with care, craft, and love. If you look at any of the sequels this is far and away the best of any of them, and easily the most grounded (yes, it's true: go ahead and re-watch any of the sequels). A great story, for starters, that checks all the boxes. Mangold and Phedon Papamichael also re-create the signature Spielberg / Douglas Slocombe cinematography flawlessly. Harrison Ford pours his heart into this one and delivers. Mads Mikkelsen is a great villain. John Williams also delivers on re-creating his musical style from that era and then extending it, almost as if *he* has gone back in time. The de-aging is a meta-commentary on time travel in film-making - combined with the story of a man obsessed with the past, brilliant theme to end on. Despite the negativity at the moment, this will eventually become a sleeper fan favorite like Rouge One was. And it will age well, unlike the other sequels.
You can't be serious....it's the worst of all the Indy movies!

Disney screwed up the release date for this film more than anything. It should have come out in the third week of May like _every other Indy film_ except Raiders did. (And Raiders still came out two weeks earlier.) It wouldn't have had any serious competition for six weeks, until Insidious.
Premiering it at Cannes an entire month before its actual release (wtf?), where the critics generally don't like this kind of film, was a dumb mistake and gave it mediocre press, and confused people about when it was actually coming out. Then finally releasing it on June 30 when people were already tired of all the big-budget movies coming out and were only paying attention to Barbie and Oppenheimer was ridiculous.
You'd think Disney of all studios would know better. Even the crappy Star Wars sequels came out at Christmas to capitalize on the lack of competition.

I like the movie too, but it don`t feels like this is the last movie to me. They could maybe do another pilot for a series, last time with Harrison Ford. In this episode he is looking for his son in Vietnam. Harrison Fords Co Star Brandon Sklenar from 1923 helps him. He could also be an archaeologist. The first lead leads them to Short Round. The actor himself comes from Vietnam.
And in the early 1970s there was still the Vietnam war. Both have to find shorty first, who knows a possible sign of life from Indy's son. Something mythical has to be added. The enemy this time is America. Indiana Jones himself may not survive this time. But we have three new leading actors for a television series. Ke Huy Quan , Brandon Sklenar and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
If something similar doesn't happen, I'd also like to say goodbye to Indiana Jones. I also think it's nice that Indiana Jones has so many films now.
I loved the movie, but only two things made a little frustrated. 1- Not having the Paramount logo starting the film turning into a part of the movie; 2- Not having Indiana lose an eye to explain how Indy became a one-eyed old man.

Just the diverse black woman that wasted about 20 min or so but I do agree with you, It wasn't destroyed by woke garbage like many other franchises. I thougjt it was really good. At the time, the director must not have known they would use the Paramount logo at the beginning, which they did between the Disney and Lucasfilm ones.
They should have hidden all footage of the face of "young Indy" from the trailers.
Say what you like about how it compares to current films but they captured the feeling of Indiana Jones perfectly!

I still cant understand two things: they filmed the action sequences practically, but still it looks fake and why it cost so much.
It might be because of filtering, extra effects for making it more extreme and maybe the cameras also play a role

I love this last Indiana Jones movie. The ending is a build-up to Raiders of the lost ark and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But how could it go on? When Spielberg and Lukas made Raiders of the Lost Ark, they had a vision of recreating the adventure of 1920s cinema. How about a new vision in the form of a series? Marion Ravenwood had been informed , that her husband Indiana Jones got lost in the Vietnam war. He wanted to find him there. Maybe she finds her son too?. Alone, she sets out to find him. On the way she will find short round there. He is now an archeologist and teaches as well as Indiana Jones. They don't know each other that Indi and shorti were friends.
Short Round helps her find him. They look for him the way an archaeologist behaves. Maybe they'll find Indi by the end of the series? How could this series stay as big as the Indiana Jones movies? By reviving the cinema of the 70's and early 80's. By first defining the enemy. America is friend and enemy! How is the look of the series? A mix of Raiders of the lost ark and Apocalypse now. Harrison Ford has already acted in both films. Could there be a Harrison Ford reunion as Indiana Jones? Why not, if Harrison Ford agree to this point, maybe they find him somewhere in this war, similar to Marlon Brando!
Maybe just one would be great.

I will wait to view this on Disney+ to avoid contributing to the box office revenue. My Disney+ subscription will expire in December - I am not renewing. The demise of Disney is being spearheaded by Kathleen Kennedy. She does not have any insight about today’s audiences. Disney is overexposed on content, sacrificing quality for quantity. Disney is also stealing from old ideas, yet not improving what is done.

What hurt it was 1. Disney had absolutely destroyed so many franchises that nobody wanted to see yet another (even though it really wasn't bad at all). 2. Phobe is so hated for her woke garbage that nobody is willing to give it a chance. Both are fair reasons to not support it in my opinion.

@gamestation2690 she was before this. Shes notorious for destroying franchises. She's the tip of the sword for politicizing everything. She really doesn't offer anything in any of her roles. She is seen more as a puppet for political propaganda than an actress of any merit.
