What about the aux battery cables after removing the aux battery. Wrap them up or remove the cables? The wrapped the top cable but what about the lower cables by the wheel well?
Is it necessary to bolt the both positive ends of the cable back to the main battery? Can the negative and positive not just be left off the main battery and in place for future reinstallment?
@@TZCHRIS27 it’s been a bit since I done this project. If I recall the negative just goes to a ground and the positive needs to be connected to 12volts for your system to function correctly. You are welcome to tie your negative in for extra ground but it is not necessary

If your not comfortable with it definitely test it, however I do not believe you would have an issue as long as your voltage regulator works correctly.
This method is way easier than messing with the fuse box. However, at 5:36 the left accessory nut is impossible to remove. It just keeps spinning in place. Fortunately for me I have an L shaped brass terminal extension that attaches to the right nut of the positive terminal. I wonder if I attach that positive aux cable to the right side of the positive terminal will affect anything

There are people doing different things. The only one I can speak for is what I done and I did connect the positive cable from the aux battery to the main battery and I have not had any issues at all.
Went to change out both batteries today on my 2019 JL wrangler, which I bought used, because the main battery was getting weak since it's been about 4 years. Decided to go through the top and removed the fuse box etc...once I got to the aux battery cover, I removed it and to my surprise, there was NO aux battery. I guess the previous owner deleted it. The AUX battery supplies power to your computer and accessories while the engine is off. When the smaller AUX battery dies it can drain you main battery which is actually used to start the engine. If you do not use the start/stop is is much easier to do away with the aux battery. This is just my opinion but it has worked great for me! Thanks for the comment and hope you have better luck with the batteries.

There are 2 sensors on the driver side, under the hood. They are the hood open/closed sensors. not sure what year model you have but one of them is for the start stop feature you can unplug it and it turns off the start stop feature. So where I am at they do not inspect this type of thing so it not anything I have to worry about… but they will not be able to tell by just looking at your Jeep. I feel like you would be good to go. Thanks for the comment!
Stupid question......whats a Tazer and whats it doing for you? I used an ODBII and Jscan app to bypass the auto stop function, would that work like the Tazer?

A thought after I did this. It would be much easier to grab a 30” positive cable with eyes at both ends and bolt one end to the positive lead at the aux box then just run the other end up around all the fuse box wiring, and bolt to the positive post. I had to take the fuse box all apart to run the cable up to the battery. I did just push the fender liner out of the way a little bit to unbolt the aux box. That saved a lot of time there.
why do you run the Positive to the main battery? The ground isn`t attached to anything. I would think clip the end of that ground and splice a longer piece and run that to the main ground. Can you just tape up both of the ends and keep it in the battery box.
Run the positive to the main battery because it supply’s power to the PCR. The other end of that ground just goes to the main battery if I remember correctly.
Hey Brotha quick question, So i dont have to ground that ground to anything, all i have to do is fish that Hot cable up and connect it, and leave the ground disconnected?

HBROS Performance, good video, but you should remind jeep owners that not all jeeps have the aux batt under the fender. My 2021 wrangler is an E-Torque engine, so it has a battery pack( suitcase ) mounted in the interior. 48 volts with cooling fans. No little aux battery under the main batt.
Thanks for the comment, that is a good point but hopefully If someone is planning to do this project on their own they would know before starting the project whether or not this should pertain to there Jeep or not…. But then again I could be wrong as I often am 😂 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you, it is a Barricade roof rack that I have converted to a bed rackrack. I had to build some brackets but it worked out pretty well. Barricade could possibly have the brackets for the rack to work in either application.
Just a preference I guess… I would rather not have my starter wear prematurely and also I do not like the idea of my engine going from zero oil pressure to on the move in a fraction of a second. Also most bearing wear comes from start ups before oil pressure is built up. Hope some of this makes sense and as stated above it is just my preference
Ya the excess starting and stopping will wear the ignition and the motor. Plus, if you live somewhere hot and have the AC in use, the constant starting and stopping (like when you are at a stop light, with the AC running) will put a lot of pressure on the AC condenser.
@@HBrosPerformanceAndOffRoadthe starters are not regular starters. They're designed to be started over and over again and can withstand the feature of start stop. They're much bigger than a standard starter And as for oil pressure, these engines come to a stop from already being lubricated from running so them starting up again is not a dry start up and no harm is caused to the engine 😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I'm going to try a battery isolator. One that separates the two when the key is off but joins the two once it starts so it charges. If everything works the little battery can die and not be able to drain your starting battery yet charge once the vehicle is running.
I can’t answer this because mine did not have remote start… but I would assume that it does. Maybe someone in the comments can help answer this question.

Also I feel that it was easier going that route than completely removing the fuse box.
Fusebox removal is not hard tbh… just a bit time consuming…
Why did you disconnect the ground wire of the secondary battery and not connect it to the main battery?
The opposite end of the wire that I wrapped in tape (the ground wire on the aux batt.) is already connected to the main battery.
@@HBrosPerformanceAndOffRoad Thanks for the clarification
No problem, thanks for the comment
What are those ditch light brackets you are running?
They are Seven Sparta, they fit well and I like the look. My only complaint is that after owning them for approximately 5 months the black seems to be fading. Thanks for the comment be sure to subscribe!!

@@HBrosPerformanceAndOffRoad Thanks for the replay and the link.
That’s funny I just change the battery in mind a couple months ago and had the same electrical tape wrap job on the power wire and I did not understand why it was done. I wonder if that’s how it’s coming from the factory or if the dealership is doing it when they replace the battery
I don’t feel like it’s done at the factory… most likely is dealership doing it in my opinion
I just did this same thing not too long ago and mine was brand new from the factory with that hack electrical tape job on the aux battery positive cable. It's definitely coming from the factory like that. Sad really.
Any issues so far?
Nope! It’s doing great!
I see that you did this 7 months ago. Any issues since then with the battery delete??? Thanks and nice gladiator👍🏻
Absolutely no issues at all. Thanks!
What does your battery voltage show without it?
Stays between 13-13.1
Hey thanks for the video mate, much appreciated!
Absolutely!!
I like the rack you are running on the back. What brand is it?
Thank you, it is a Barricade roof rack that I have converted to a bed rackrack. I had to build some brackets but it worked out pretty well. Barricade could possibly have the brackets for the rack to work in either application.
good vid man, you going to Overland of America ?
Thanks! No I am not, I actually sold this one… hopefully another build coming soon 🤞🤞
Did your voltages reader stay steady ?
Yes, I have not had any problems
Bro thx for sharing that’s what I m talking about thx cheers from tampa
Awesome! Thanks!
Great video, thanks. I would have grounded that ground
I feel like it probably has plenty, if I ever have grounding issues in the future I will definitely check there first, thanks for the comment!
Why not use the start stop? its a great feature
Yeah I’m just removing the battery, will still use the button to turn it off
Ya the excess starting and stopping will wear the ignition and the motor.
So you have have tazer to do this
Gave you a thumbs up for displaying the Stars and Bars.
Thanks!!
Great video by the way
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing
Absolutely!!
Should take off the negative terminal first.
Glad I didn’t melt it down
easier then me wanting to do a battery box in the bed - thanks
Absolutely! Thanks for the comment, be sure and subscribe for more Jeep and Offroad content
Your fuel guage is broke, no way its on full.
🤣very good observation!
Wow that Jeep came from North Carolina was own by my friend Marlon, we removed the stop start battery the Jeep was in a accident lol
I don’t believe this is correct.. but I guess anything is possible lol
Stupid little battery dies quickly and draws the juice from the starter battery and then it won't start.
Yes they can be aggravating
I'm going to try a battery isolator. One that separates the two when the key is off but joins the two once it starts so it charges. If everything works the little battery can die and not be able to drain your starting battery yet charge once the vehicle is running.
Sounds like a good idea! Let me know how it turns out
Beautiful confederate flag inside the building.
Thanks!
Man an easier way to do that you don't need to is jump the 1st and 3rd terminals I think and remove all other wires not to much extra work
I have seen that as well. I prefer just to have the battery completely out, either way works it’s just my preference.
You think????
You mean to tell me that thing runnin on a lawn mower battery????!!! 🤣🤣
Pretty much
All kinds of crazy stuff on TH-cam. Don’t do that!!!!!
Do you mind giving an explanation why you feel this way? If I do not use the start stop function this battery is not needed correct?
One month later and still no response. I don’t know why anyone would run the aux battery. There’s a reason the that they are no longer used
Typical confederate flag trump guy_-spreading wrong info -
Thanks!!
Wrangler/Gladiator owners don't speak politics. We share a universal language ✌️
@phillyb4588 what he shows in this video is real, not fake news lol
Absolutely!
I bet you drive a Prius...LOL!
I removed mine 4 years ago
Smart man!
Does the remote start still work ??
I can’t answer this because mine did not have remote start… but I would assume that it does. Maybe someone in the comments can help answer this question.
