@@davidpeters6743 very valid
Michael Biehn was asked about meeting Val Kilmer during filming of Tombstone. He said he never met Val because Val Kilmer stayed in Doc character at all times
this is honestly the best cowboy movie out of all the cowboy movies ive seen.
Val Kilmer's acting in this movie is likely the best ever anywhere.
His best line of the entire movie however, "Live for me Wyatt, Live for me."
That's a good'un, but, for ME, "Why, Johnny RINGO, you looked like somebody just WALKED over your grave" is tops.
I agree. Two close friends parting company. One passing, the other moving on. Stella performances from both men.
Thanks Kurt for directing this Masterpiece and for getting these Cast. If the Director would be Clint Eastwood, this Movie would get a lot of Oscars, an the one for Val would be a piece of cake.
One of the greatest performances by an actor ever. Had to go thru his part flawlessly while soaked to bone simulating sweat. Then delivered the delivered the best line since Frankly my dear I don't give a damn in Gone with the wind. I'm your huckleberry. In Tombstone. Outstanding performance by Val Kilmer. AWESOME!!!!!.
When Doc is laying in bed talking about the empty hole in Ringo's heart and revenge for being born, he's also talking about himself.
That’s why he hates him as well. In the bar scene. The more he learned about ringo the more he hated him, because they were one in the same, but dingo wasn’t sick physically, he was sick mentally.
Incredible writing and illusory work.
@@Vaga-Bard Absolutely you missed the point
@@Lord_Hillcrest02 No, he didn't miss the point. Ringo filled his hole with theft and murder. Doc filled what he was missing with his friends.
@@scottrackley4457 I wouldn't say Doc did. He filled it mostly with mean-spirited gambling and bullying, and he enjoyed pushing people to violence and murdering thing. I think the friends thing was purely by accident for him, and he's lucky for it
Johnny Ringo fills his pants when he hears 'I'm your huckleberry.'
He knows he's fucked. I love this movie.
All of the acting was high level in this film, but Kilmer brought it to a higher level.
What's interesting about the gunfight with Johnny Ringo, is how Doc left himself open, almost begging Ringo to do the kill shot & end Doc's suffering from tuberculosis.
Have you ever seen such great acting? I wish I could read the screenplay to understand Doc's words to Wyatt at the end. Such great scenes. So great. And sad. Wow.
Wyatt : "I can't beat him, can I?"
Doc : "No."
Wyatt: "Gosh, Doc. You're really great at building a guy's confidence."
Doc: Well... Just being honest, Earp. Don't wanna go to hell being a liya to ya. *cough cough*
I know you are joking lol but I always loved that scene because you could see he had accepted his fate. He knew he was walking into a hopeless fight, and he still chose to go. That takes a kind of grit that is quite rare.
Wyatt: well sometimes maybe a white lie would do a feller good in his time of need.
Doc: oh poor you, let me play the violin for you.
The two most terrifying words you can hear from Doc Holiday:
"Say when"!
😂
Oscar-worthy performance by Kilmer!!! Robbed BIG time...!!!
It’s cool that Doc went to face Ringo, basically, he knew Wyatt wouldn’t win. And even Ringo tried to dodge it.
This movie has so many great scenes. The best Western ever made in my book.
This is called Best Doc Holiday Scenes
I think all his scenes were the best
Every scene he's in is the best
One of the greatest Movies ever made!
it raised the bar for forthcoming Western Movies with the acting, cinematography & dialogue with a flawless cast...should've bagged a ton of Oscars...IMO
Just watched this moves first time and i have to say that Val Kilmer was best actor overall in this movie. 🤘
Same here I truly love this movie now that I’ve finally seen it
Val Kilmer hit it out of the park! 😭
Doc's gunfighting stance, shelding himself like a boxer, all the while holding and casually smoking a cigarette!!!! Classic👍
That whole persona Doc projects smoking that fag and tapping his gun handle while stepping sideways and never leaving eye contact with Johnny Ringo was just spell binding!
They don't make them like this anymore ❤ I miss movies like these 😢
I really liked Kilmer in top gun and heat. But tombstone was his absolute best role. In my opinion, of course. 😁
In your opinion and that of a lot of other people. He was phenomenal in this movie. He never topped himself after this.
So many great actors, yet Val Kimer managed to steal this film.
Those dying moments...."i'll be damned, this is funny." it may not give clarity but damn sure gives solace.
Because of how wild Doc chose to live, he expected to die with his boots on.
These scenes, let alone the whole movie was so well done. Val Kilmer absolutely nailed this role and so did the rest of the gang really. Was extremely excited when a company I buy from made a dedication to his role. Skeleton depiction of Doc holding his cigarette with "I'm Your Huckleberry" underneath. Bought two due to loving this movie and his role so much. BYE running mouth Johnny Ringo...lightly putting it. Very.
Doc was describing himself in his analytical description of ringo.
Definitely got the vibe he was making that analysis partially about himself.
He does say he reminds him of him.
How an Oscar was denied VK is just one of many the Academy has F**d up over the years.
Master of his craft! Amazing performance Val!
Val Kilmer's greatest performance ever
"You're no daisy. You're no daisy at all!"
No, but he'll be pushing daisies from now on.
My all time favourite film and that end scene always gets me 😭
'm not sure why Val's performance as Doc Holiday has experienced a resurgence in popularity, but damn it, it is one of the greatest historical fiction portrayals ever in cinema.
"Poor soul, you were just too high strung." best line lol
Doc knew his time was coming… he had to save his homeboy before he passed 💯
Seeing doc laying their dying was a very moving and memorable moment in cinema history
Absolutely one of the best movies ever
Good friends are not easy to encounter and even more difficult to keep, especially in those days. Yet, Doc was the most loyal friend a guy could hope for. Doc was a loose cannon and a sickly one at that, but he stood tall and rode hard for Wyatt, come what may. Ya gotta respect that.
