      Yes! Mikes death wasn’t badass at all.
      Any of these would’ve been better:
      -(the scene you suggested)
      -Saving Jesse at the end of the series.
      -“I am the one who knocks!”
      -Visiting Gretchen and Elliot and threatening them with the “2 best hitmen”
      -Confronting the bullies who were making fun of Walt. Jr.
      -Running over and shooting the drug dealers who were gonna shoot Jesse (the one who shot Andreas brother).
      But the Mike scene? It’s not that I’m even biased towards Mike, it just shows Walt as a coward.

    I think the way Walt executes Jack mid sentence and then reveals to Lydia that she's already dead is one of Walt's most badass moments, as well as 'Because your boss is gonna need me...'
    'Tread lightly...' is another that deserves a mention.

      Yeah this top 5 is awful. The real top 5 would be something like
      5 - Gassing Emilio & Crazy 8
      4 - Tread Lightly
      3 - Running over the guys Jesse was about to kill
      2 - Sending Jesse to kill Gale
      1 - Massacring the Nazis and rescuing Jesse.
      The only reason the Nazis is above Gale is because in that episode he gets a little bit of redemption before he dies.

    • @stevepreskitt283
      @stevepreskitt283 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Synchronised01 I'd replace #5 with, "Stay out of my territory". Walt dispatched Emilio/Crazy 8 because he had an unexpected opportunity in the face of abject fear and self-preservation, not because he was a badass. Otherwise, great list, and I think Walter's unflinching execution of the surviving dealer in #3 was just fricking chilling.

      Yea its definitely a defining moment in the show but it's far from badass. He panicked, shot Mike out of impulse, and then asked him for forgiveness. Its a better example of him being pathetic and really just proves Mike's point about Walters greed and ego in my opinion. Its definitely a great scene but if someone watches that and says "wow what a cool guy" idk what to tell them lol.

      Yeah fuck Jack & his Nazi gang. This series is full of incredibly satisfying moments, from exploding Krazy-8 & what's-his-face, to Walter choking Krazy-8 to death as he desperately tried to kill him with the plate (though now that I think of it-- what was his plan after that??? Starve to death in the basement or get wasted by Jesse? Lol).
      But that final scene where he kills all those evil bastards, then tells Lydia she's fuckin dead (with the added personal dig at "that stevia bullshit you're always putting in your tea", that whole shit was over the top satisfying 😍

      From that point until the very end I felt the same way, but the way he saved Jesse and pretty much left him the last man standing redeemed him to me, also it was genius how he made himself look like a psycho so that Skyler wouldn't come under as harsh of questioning. When he sends that voice message to her and tears up after, it pretty much confirms what his real intention is.

    • @YourMum-u4v
      @YourMum-u4v หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sile1nce76 Nobody criticized the writing. They criticized the character, in-universe. You can call Sauron evil without saying he's poorly written. You can call Batman selfish in his pacifism without calling him the villain. Walter White is a selfish, cowardly man whose shooting of Mike was preventable, undeserved, and short-sighted. This was an impulsive decision that Walter made because he feared being ratted out by the 9 guys after Mike left the game and refused to take the advice to get going. If Walt took that opportunity he could have made off clean with tens of millions of dollars and his family would be almost entirely intact. At worst, the Whites have to leave Marie and Hank behind with the vacuum salesman's family bundle.
      Walter White's negative traits are compelling. We like that. We're happy with how it was written because we relate to and feel for Walt, and can see from his eyes why he does the things he does even when we disagree with them. The show is amazingly written, and Walt is no exception. But Walt is also a cowardly, selfish egoist.

      I’ve always thought the same, but there is a pretty good reason I don’t think they could - aside from plot convenience.
      I’ve been exposed to industrial Chorine in vapor form, for just a few seconds at my job, years ago. I forgot to switch a valve off before I opened a canister that was feeding the pucks into a pool system, and I realized it at the LAST second, and it shot the vapor and water out of the canister… holy hell.
      I wear glasses, but that didn’t matter - it was like if someone tried to force your eyes shut and you were fighting against it, all while tears flooded out. I gagged so hard I couldn’t breathe, and felt like I was going to lose consciousness after just a few seconds of exposure - it’s a miracle I capped the system, because I couldn’t even see, and after it stopped, I rushed outside and just felt like I was going to puke from the sensation, and my lungs felt hot.
      It took me about a solid ten minutes of just breathing before I felt normal again, and it all lasted maybe 20-30 seconds, from Chlorine - I’m not sure if the muriatic acid line was ran through that bit of the system, and it’s why it was so intense, but it doesn’t really matter, because I was super lucky it didn’t corrode my lungs or cause blindness.
      If you get blindsided by an explosion, and then you cant breathe, it’s likely you’re not going to see or hit anything with a gun. Plus, phosphine gas of any variation is extremely dangerous, leading to rapid death if you’re exposed to it for even a short period; the fact it’s used as an incendiary munition and chemical weapon should really also sell how truly dangerous phosphine gas is.

      All of the musical choices were amazing. Even the songs that aren't anything I'd listen to normally lend so much additional power and intensity to their respective scenes. For example, that wacky rock track that plays when he tells those wannabe cooks to stay out of his territory. I'd never listen to it on its own, but it so perfectly captures the mood and vibe of the scene. Then there's Fred Astaire's "Pick Yourself Up" playing over the course of the GRUESOME prison murder scene; that's something I would listen to naturally, but pairing it with this absolutely ruthless string of horribly graphic murders-- it's so light and lilting and cheerful, which makes the scene so, SO much colder in my opinion. The perfect show. I know some people prefer BCS, but it's just not the same. It's a great series, but it just doesn't possess the same range, diversity of interests & emotions, and WILD levels of character development that BB does. And this is coming from a complete Mike & Saul stan! 🤌
