I wish you had stopped and shown us your lake house. This video reminded me of me. My doctor plugged a probe into me and told me I wasn't even broke in yet. He said I was more of a 2-stroke than a 4 stroke though with plenty of horsepower left. He also said my prop was a little too big. :)
Great timing on this video. Just put a down payment on a new Ranger with a 90hp Suzuki. I was reading the manual and thought the break in process was quite intense. You laid it out well, Thanks!
It's not that bad we just just did the first 4 hour the first day then after that you can open it up just change speeds every 5 mins is basically all you got to do , I love my Suzuki by the way you pick a good one , I appreciate the comment buddy . I lie ti know what ppl think
Thank you so much now all I need is a boat and engine😀😁😂. All jokes aside I have to say your videos are getting better and better each new video is better than the last. This one is so good it should have been put up after one are two more other videos first. Great job.
I appreciate that my friend . I really do . I'm always trying to improve sometimes it works others not so much lol . I think we all improve every video even if we don't notice at first
Man I wanted to tell you I was watching your cutting board video again yesterday, and it gave me some really good ideas for a project that I want to do. Not gonna say what that is but I want to thank you for the insight!
Thank you brother what ever it is im sure it'll be great , your turning into a professional looking TH-cam channel man . I always enjoy watching . Your Instagram stuff looks great too
Quit showin off with that new boat Brother hahahahaha!! I just got my Tracker 1648 side console. Its a starting point! Got the rod holders in and welder. Everything is uphill from here. Thanks again for all your help Always! God Bless
God bless you too brother , I always love seeing your comments, I bet you live that 1648 , I know I lived my 1754 , I just wanted a little more room but they are great boats , I'm doing some stiff on this new boat because that's where my times been but I've got some good ideas ima be working on soon . So be patient brother lol you know all about then don't you ,,,,,I love your channel name haha thanks for taking the time to comment brother
Man,,,,, thank you very much , that's super nice if you brother , and I appreciate that more than you'll ever know , I get the occasional hater making fun of the way I talk lol . But I try to stay positive . I must like acting silly sometimes laughter is the best medicine
Great show. Great advice. I liked the part when the technician said "it (the program) would tell if you over revved it". Holy shit, as much as these motors cost (about $100 per HP) you would think it would come all broke in, but *more importantly with a rev limiter* .!! If they couldn't program in a rev limiter, I would buy one and wire it in. Good grief. Thank you. Wonderful channel.
Thank you So , I appreciate it. They fo have new limiters I hit it sheen I was getting my prop right they just shut the motor down lol . I thought I broke it then it cut back on and took off haha
Sweet ride.... Yes the new computerized motors record almost everything...... Cool to see they are helping you get it dialed in...... When you gonna slime it up?
Yep. They are really good guys at that dealer . That's the down side to ordering a custom boat , it takes a little dialing her in lol . You know all about that stuff you a boat man
I just purchased a new 2021 Suzuiki outboard short shaft with tiller. It has electric start, trim&tilt. How do I know the RPM motor is running when breaking in on back of my fishing boat? Do I need to buy a wired on Tach gauge?🤔
Wonder how many would ever take there boat back to the shop twice, especially after only having it a short time...think they'd test it to get it right first...Do people take their motors back often? wondering if this is a common practice...Thanks...Greati nformative video...
The reason I had to dial my prop in is because it's a custom ordered boat , places like Basspro and Cabelas don't have to do this because they don't sell custom boats they have different kinds but they are pretty much all the same si they know what prop to put on em , the type boat Aluminum, Fiberglass , modV or Vhull will change thing even the eight of the boat and the placement of the console. The motor was on the boat when they got it with my boat so the throttle cable wasn't they're fault , but the thing is you try and get that kind of help with dialing in your boat at Basspro or Cabelas . It ain't going to happen lol . That wad a great Question sorry for the long answer buddy
@@FishinNStuff lol, they are gonna get really board watching me ha ha, just wondering how well they hold up with electronics, I know on a big truck diesel the electronics have neutered them. I am fond of mechanical motors myself primarily for reliability and the ability to so minor repairs on the water. You know pull spark plug clean it up, turn a screw adjust a carb etc...FFC fuel fire and compression.
You confused me for a sec the cause I saw diesel then spark plug haha , I hear the new outboard are really good , guys are getting over 7000 hours on Suzuki's with no issues. But like anything else , stuff's gonna break sooner or later , the nice part about the computers is they can see what was happening when you were on the water. I remember when I was young taking my car to a mechanic and telling him what it was doing , only to have it never do it while he was driving it lol
If you have 100 hours on the boat, how would the program be able to tell if you did the break in correctly, as it shows RPM's broken down, but not during which hours the RPM's were achieved? Thanks
So when you are supposed to idle it in gear for 15 minutes are you supposed to pull your anchor as I'm thinking it'll not work on anchor it might try to run over the anchor and if you pull your anchor idling and strong current hits you and the idle is too weak to fight the current, can you gas it to prevent crash, I'm trying to find the best way to do this on sailboat at anchor, at least for the non moving parts 🤔
My motor has more idle time on it than anything else. lol I usually let it sit and idle while I'm fishing along the edge for bluegills, that way I can keep moving and sticking. I don't have a trolling motor yet. I also don't know if I've ever had mine to full throttle more than a minute or two total. I found out pretty quick there was next to no difference between 3/4 throttle and full throttle on my motor, so why put the extra wear on it? I still need to take it in for it's first service too. Crazy I know, but I just haven't really been out in the boat that much since I got it. These dang kidney stones are a real pain. In more than one way. Love your boat buddy. That thing looks sweet on the water!💪👍💯
Thank you Bill I like your boat too , it's awesome . Im going ti miss my Grizzly too . There's no such thing as a perfect boat just what you need most . I think trim makes the most difference in the larger boats . There's about 7 mph difference in the motor trimmed up and all the easy down
I really like it a lot it's the biggest 1872 boost ive seem , I looked at the Ranger and Alumicraft boats I had on the last video but SeaArk won out . For one they are customizable and I love that . Plus SeaArks have life time Hull warrantys and you saw how helpful the dealer was getting the prop dialed in right . I appreciate you commenting brother
No sir I just never cut the motor off the first day and used the time on my phone stopped to use the portajon at one boat ramp and left the motor running lol . Wer did stop and eat too but I kept up with it

How did it start at 21 pitch not revving enough, so went to 19 pitch and over revving, but then ended up that 22 pitch was the right prop??
Just buying a new Evinrude motor went through a similar situation. Definitely enjoy your videos would like to get your thoughts on your new boat.

hell yeah!!! get er dun!!! hold my beer and watch this!!!
I got a yamaha 115 after 10hrs is it ok to troll at 6mp for a long time
It probably is . Because it wound be just like breaking in the motor . But unless your saltwater fishing , that's a little too fast for most fish
I know I should follow their recommendations but I always break them in like I'm gone run it. Wide open
Drive it like you stole it haha , hey it's your money and you bought it . I say it's up to you 👍
They probably require such a complex breakin because a lot of people wont follow it, and then they wont lose money doing warranty repairs.
That's true too but technically they could refuse to do warranty if you don't do the breaking correctly
Thats good info, but you been on my home lake!!!!!!!!
