with the new found torque, you can install a 12 or 13 pitch prop and get significantly more top speed out of that motor now.. Probably closer to 28-29 mph

There is no need for a new ECU, I did this same conversion and by the advice of a Suzuki tech he said the stock ECU would adjust to the added airflow and it did, runs great.

GM used to limit the throttle valve opening angle on some cars when they had corporate edicts on the amount of power for that size car. One of the first buff-book recommendations was to have someone fully depress the accelerator pedal while you stared down through the top of the carb - of course with the engine off and air cleaner lid removed. If you saw the throttle plate wasn't going vertical, you could look for what was stopping it short and remove that restriction.

Good question! I know guys have done it without changing the prop, but the standard Suzuki 9.9 comes with a 3 blade 9 pitch prop and the 20 HP conversion will come close to the RPM max out. This can be harmful to the motor. I mistakenly bought the Hight Thrust model which comes with a 4 blade prop. I didn't realize at time of purchase. So, I switched to a 3 blade 10 pitch which will keep me below the RPM maxout, and I am still getting up to 23 mph top speed!
