Yall, rollersetting is a learning curve…keep trying. I thought i would never get it right, til i did…now it’s the only way i dry my hair, even for hair prep like braids. I hope more women share their rollerset journey. Such a simple protective style.
I’m so happy to hear this! I recently decided to chop off my dead ends that were fried from damage. I decided to roller set my hair every week instead of flat ironing in the hopes that it will grow my hair ❤
Omg finally a natural TH-camr that does a roller set right! I’ve seen so many TH-camrs that will roll their hair then silk press it. This is an amazing video.
After watching a couple of your videos along with a few other TH-camrs who rollerset, I have decided this is going to be the method I try in order to grow out my hair. My hair has been struggling to grow over the past 5 years from over-manipulation. Today, I got a trim/cut to start my hair off fresh…no more blow drying, braidouts, twistouts, or buns…it’s time for healthy ends and length retention with rollersets!
My hair has always done extremely well with roller sets (vs blowdrying) both when I was relaxed and now natural. My hair is 3C-ish, fine, and high-porosity, so using a setting foam, especially alone, doesn't work well for me. My favorite combo for a roller set that's never failed me yet is using a cream leave-in (Salerm21 or Opalex No 6) and a serum (Chi Silk Infusion). They have silicones which I don't mind because silicone helps with the "frizzies" in high-porosity hair, and also serve as heat protectants which comes in handy as I use a flat iron after my roller set.
I agree with u. I use foams when i am stretching my hair for like twists or to stretch my hair for flexirods…but for a straight rollerset or a silk press my hair likes a water based leave in heat protectant and maybe a serum…then once finished a spray anti humidity spray before i wrap.
We have very similar hair and a professional stylist said I am primarily 3c (3b in the front & 4a at the crown but primarily 3c, fine & high porosity & extremely soft & prone to heat damage .🎉
My grand aunt does her hair like this for years, I don’t have the patience. I just wrapped my hair flat around my head, soaking wet sit under my air dryer with cool air. It’ll be more of a blowout look if I want it straighter than I just flat iron it on low heat.
This looks amazing and I’m inspired, sis! Do you live in the south or somewhere humid 🫣Can we chat about how you wrap at night or any maintenance to keep it that amazing? My natural curls wanna come back with a vengeance when I step out the door!
I think it is a 3c-4a. However, we all have different curl patterns. I have 3c, 4a, and 4b in the crown. It's crazy. You wil be able to see the curl pattern the most once you get it cut..if you get it cut. Heat damage is terrible for hair, especially natural hair. Regardless of curl pattern, your hair is beautiful.
Beautiful results! I wish rollers worked for me, but I can't get the curls to stay straight long enough to get them smoothly wrapped around the rollers. I do get good results if I've already blown out my hair however.
@@tresstoimpress4224 Tiny teeth + my hair sounds like combo straight to tangle city 😅 Hot rollers look fun though. Maybe I'll give those a try sometime. :)
Oh thank you! I’ll bee doing some curlier styles soon, so stay tuned! This one is supposed to give a silk press effect without the flat irons. Thanks for watching❤️
Loved loved loved the video. I too lost density and on my way back to transition from the lack of density. I’m almost halfway there but should should see some great progress during the summer. The fullness looks great which is what concerned me about my current hair issue. I’m going to do this right now. Awesome and informative video. I can’t comment on hair type as I focus on what my hair positively respond to. Thank you!
I do not go by hair type!! Your hair changes over time as you age!! You have beautiful hair!! Just go by what your hair porosity is what’s most important for right product selection!! Do a porosity test on clean hair!! Then, this is what you truly go by!! Not hair type!!

I have to keep trying! My hair is maybe 8-9 inches after my big chop. Maybe now that it’s grown out a bit I can see better results
My hair didn't grow long until I roller set it regularly
Same here

I’ll drop the details in a future video!❤️I did it in this video but didn’t explain.

@@tresstoimpress4224 yes i love those videos!! U should try with what the subscribers told you, it'll be amazing!

Be very gentle with detangling! You can still over manipulate with this style. I detangle off camera before I even start filming.

Saran Wrap keeps the hair straighter longer, with the help of serum for humidity for about 2 weeks!!❤❤❤❤
Explain how the saran wrap combats humidity once you step outside.

Do u use the Saran wrap?
@@SeriouslySaving I use a satin scarf
You can using flat iron low heat to smooth the root making more flat and polished.
Great tip! I have done this in the past, but I’m trying to avoid the flat irons and perfect the roller set without them.
@@tresstoimpress4224 if you add extra flat ironing just have a silk press for yourself.if you can making a roller set and flat ironing silk press.☺️
Recently I’ve been using the tymo heated brush on my roots, the middle settling is like 350 and i haven’t had any curl loosening

I want more roller set videos. Thanks.

This is how my 1920's born grandmother and great aunts did their hair. They went to the hair parlor every Saturday for roller sets.
And I know they stayed looking good!

I have the same issue in Florida

There are some rollers with tiny teeth that could help with that!

I live in hot humid Florida. How do you make a roller set longer than a day w/o frizz setting in.
I have a video about this coming up, so stay tuned!
Gorgeous 😍 looking like a movie star
😊 thank you
@batgirlp5561 this is a more recent video of the same style but longer hair! Look at that ripple😍
Just watched a different video of you doing this your hair has grown so much!
Yes! I had a bob 3-4 years ago. Then let it grow while I was preggers. Then just cut 7 inches a couple months back!

Have you tried the ceramic thermal rollers/curlers?
Thermal rollers? Yes. Ceramic thermal rollers? No. Are they good?
@tresstoimpress4224 I just bought a set from Kitsch. I'll ya know later.
can I use hand hair dryer when the rollers still on? I don’t have the one you use 😢 (I have wavy hair)
There’s actually and attachment you can put on your hand dryer to make it a hooded one!
Can you work out without ruining your hair? I want to wash & rollerset 1x per week.
Sure you can! I’ll have to post some of my tips!
how long does the rolling process take?
I have live videos where you can check out how long it takes, unedited.
Gorgeous ❤..can I use any other leave in cream for curly hair instead of the product you used ?
Yes of course! Different hair textures, densities, and porosities require different products!
@tresstoimpress4224 Thank you so much..love your channel 💜
That was a lot of work but it looks amazing.
Thank you!
es muy lindo, pero queda un poco inflado. Hay manera de que no quede así?
Yes, use a flat iron or a hand blow dryer, but I’m recovery from heat damage and not using either. I love the volume!
wow. this video was helpful.

This work on 4C hair?
is the hair dryer on a hot setting?
No

@@tresstoimpress4224 put a piece of hair (clean hair) in water to see if it sinks or floats .. if it sinks you may have high porosity
