A hand dryer and hood dryer are different as a hand dryer is direct heat and the hooded dryer is indirect. A hooded dryer is better because you are not directing the heat directly onto the hair (the air is circulating in the hood and the hair is drying that way). With the hand dryer heat is either close or directly on the hair strands which can cause damage for many people.
I could not have put it better myself! People don't realize they are more likely to heat damage their hair with the hand blow dryer than the flat irons.
I really loved watching this. Getting tips plus your voice is soothing. Think I’m going to try a roller set (for the first time) this weekend. Not sure if I want to do a ponytail roller set or traditional since my hair is so thick and kinky.
Omg I almost forgot to come back and tell you thank you and that your tutorial changed my life. I'm Dominican and have been going to salons for 20yrs. I finally had enough and started doing my own hair. I've been looking at videos to try to get better each time. Your video showing the mousse, the keratin serum, the extra 15min in the dryer with the tubi...THIS was the holy grail. I would've never thought putting mousse to get fluffy hair would work but here we are. 😊 Now i only flat iron literally the smallest section in the front, takes 4min to do. Which means I no longer have to flat iron/blow dry anything after rollers. Success! That'll reduce so much of the heat damage. My hair has finally started to grow past it's usual length thanks to retaining. I also have been doing black Jamaican black castor oil with drops of rosemary essential oil. I did the cloves water too and it seemed to work fast but i got scated after hearing it can dry your hair. Anyways, thank you. Thank you!
Oh yay! I’m on a rollerset journey and I’ve been searching for a TH-camr to discuss this topic! I roll my hair in both directions, but i do think certain sections of my hair roll tighter one direction vs another, I’m trying to figure it out. Also, i use Ethiopian rollers that have the little teeth/nobs…it results in better tension imo. I also use zero product just water, it’s silkier and bouncer and flows more, especially if im not using any additional heat, or i like the color wow quick dry spray if i plan to press my roots. I couldnt ever get the setting lotion amount correct, so i just stopped using it. I feel like hooded drier heat has never damaged my curls so i literally just use water. Ur hair looks bomb.
How should I maintain this style if I work out frequently and my roots gets sweaty and shrink? I wear my hair when I’m working out ? I feel like if I put it in a ponytail or a bun, it will get rid of the curl.
The only time mine flops on day one or two is when I did not get my hair completely dry. I linked the video with tips for humidity in my reply to your other comment.
just depends how long I was under the hooded dryer. If I have the time to be still for 2 hours, I prefer to just sit under the hooded dryer the full time because that gets me fully dry. Since hair density varies, so does dry time.

I love how neat your rollers look! You have inspired me to try a roller set again on my natural hair

do you know if I can do this to my hair but using a hand hair drier?
How do you keep a roller set from reverting after a day in the heat & humidity of southern states.
I dry it completely! I have a video posted with more humidity proof tips for you!
Also, if you dont have the silk paper, you can use paper bag paper. How? Cut the paper in small squares, and wrap it around the hair roller.
Interesting!
Love thd hair tutorials - BUT I would really love a Make-up Tutorial. ❤😊
Noted! What type of look?
How should I maintain this style if I work out frequently and my roots gets sweaty and shrink?

Girl this is beautiful I love it
Thanks
How do you keep a roller set from reverting in hot humid weather? Mine only lasts a day or two, tops.

What was the silk serum that you used???
It’s chi brand. Click my Amazon link in the text below the video and look at the roller set essentials list I created there.

Can this be done on shorter 4c /4b hair too?
Check out my video from Feb 28,2021. My hair was shorter and curlier than it is in video!
Not “magic silkifying power” lol! 😆
Yes!
Can you use a blowdryer for this. ( I can’t afford a hooded dryer).
Idk, I’ve never tried.
Try a bonnet dryer attachment
