Knice discussion - you illustrate perfectly what we all eventually discover...that most things are in the end a series of trade-offs - cost, availability, stainlessness, sharpenability. Thanks!

I have a Benchmade bugout but that Spyderco looks like it needs my pocket! 😂 nice knife!

I carry a benchmade 945 for quick and easy cutting and a cold steel 4-max for when I encounter a tougher job like flooring or a thick water hose. The steels are s90v and s35vn respectively, both with blades built for strength. I find myself being more delicate with s90v because it doesn't handle little oopsies as well as s35vn but it does keep a more toothy edge. Honestly still couldn't say which steel or knife I love more, it's all quality at this level.

    I’d like to see 15V vs K390, (15V wins, I reckon). 😁
Thanks for the detailed S90V vs S30V comparison, Fletcher! I’ve got a few Spydercos, in each steel. I really like em both.

Don’t have the money for the 15v manix, new cars are expensive

Love the patina k390 gets. And the super sticky edge. I could go either way. 15v is one tough bitch to sharpen.

Do you have a sharpening tutorial on different types of steel?

No most steels sharpen using the same techniques it just comes down to which grit they excel at, the best I have is my steel review videos where I discuss how certain steels like to be sharpened

    Shirogorov S90V sounds super expensive.
S90V predates S30V by 6 years. Slightly lower corrosion resistance.

      Back when it was 420v

@@allthingsknives yep. I remember around 2000, and up there was a store near my house called whole earth provision, with a knife counter in the back by all the outdoor gear. I would always ogle the high end kerhsaws, SOG tomcats and xrays, spyderco salts, BM griptilians, but the one i loved most was the kershaw boa in S60V, aka 440V. That's an old steel for sure.

A video of you waving your hands and not showing much detail on the knife. What a waste of time

The video isn't about the knives. Leaving a comment without reading the title, what a waste of time
