This makes me think Benchmade never intended us to use the s90v exclusive 940’s they dropped a couple years ago. 😆

Ahhh, the results of your exhaustive testing! Good stuff. Spyderco’s S90V is tops, when it comes to production knives. Iirc; their S90V is ~61.5-62.5 HRC.
I’ve been using S30V more often lately; since I started carrying my Lil Temperance3, with my Ikuchi. The designs of those two are SO good… but I still wish they had CruWear blades.
ETA: the best deal I ever got on a S90V knife was a S90V w/ CF scales Sprint YoJumbo; for $175, (from Cutlery Shoppe on BF). I think that’s a pretty good value, especially considering how damn big the knife is. 😁

Soyderco S90V clocks in at under 60 hrc, consistently.

Video work great, your easy to listen to , cover all the points and data , you make the steel easy to comprehend and understand .
You got a subscriber here !
You should do a dual video with an engineers perspective , :) and my other channel North tested knives I'll subscribe with it too

I’ve been waiting for the satin yellow magnacut PM2 salt forever. I’m officially just going to get the MGE S90V PM2 to hold me over. Why is the DLC one everywhere with no word on the satin 😫

My top 5 stainless steels that I've used would be #1 S35vn, #2 S45vn, #3 spy27, #4 Aus10A, #5 LC200N and 14c28n (because those 2 feel so similar to me). I need some toughness and sharpenability because my blades take a beating just cutting a large variety of things, and chipping does happen even to the toughest blades from time to time.

Top 3 tool steels would be #1 Cruwear, #2 M4, #3 3V. I only like those 3 out of those I've used. The others are too hard to be easily repaired from edge damage.

14C28N is a great option, I’m not too much of a fan of S35vn but love S45vn

After an extended period with the Manly City, what are your thoughts about it ?
It was on my to-buy list but got delayed. I know their Peak in S90V is extremely thin BTE and by experience the HT is good on it.

I’d say one of the Best Buy’s under 100

    Very informative,.thank you!!
Best S90v explanation you can get IMO!!!
I'm awaiting a Benchmade Hidden Cannyon Hunter from UPS. in S90v steel today.
