I'm from India, but I live in Munich, Germany now. "Turkish" takeaways are everywhere and cheap here and some of them have really good döner. But all the Lahmacun at these joints is pre-cooked. I had lahmacun at Halil in Kadiköy and it blew my mind. They were making it fresh by order and serving to the table piping hot, straight out of the oven. I will never have the pre-cooked version after that. I was supposed to be in Istanbul again in April, but of course that didn't happen. But whenever I'm back, the lahmacun at Halil and the Adana Kebab roll at Dürümzade are some of the first foods I will eat. Thanks for the recipe. I somehow never thought of making lahmacun at home, but it looks relatively straightforward. This should make for a great dinner party.
When travel restrictions are lifted, I'm coming to Turkey. Love from India 😘 I've always wanted to visit but now I want to go even more. Also, its always interesting to see the similarities of ingredients and flavors between Indian and Turkish food.
Welcome to India where culture, cuisine & language changes every 100 kms lahmacun has always been my favourite would love to taste the Turkish version.

Thanks for sharing, adding onions and lemon and parsley is just like giving life to food which in Pakistan every moms favourite and we do love it.. i would definitely try this atleast😍
I AM TOO!! and turkish gal living in turkey. i use something called soy minced meat. its very thin almost like breadcrumbs when you add how water it absorbs and pretty much looks and feels like meat. i sometimes put soy sauce too (even if theres tomato in the mixture) to give it some umami. i put my garlic in a rich manner because i always liked the taste and when theresnt meat i like the taste even more. or maybe if you dont want to add soy sauce just use a good tomato paste. then the rest is all same. and refika says when you freeze meat it gets drier but this one doesnt because that substitute is pretty spongy in the first place it soaks the water up. and i do this in bulk and put in the freezer in batches for 2 lahmacun each. in like ziplocks or something like that. when i want it i take it out of the freezer and i go to my bakery they already have good dough with yeast and a good hot oven, so i ask them to make the base and cook it for me, they do that for 2 liras or something like that for me. which is almost free. but if you dont have that comfort believe me that dough is so easy to make. i just eat this as a snack sometimes. i literlly eat it as hangover pizza. so its more conveniet for me that way. but you can do it too.
Bonsoir from Paris. This is the first time I am commenting on youtube and that’s because I have tried this recipe today and it tastes exactly the same as the one I have tried for the first time in my life in Lebanon.Thank you so much. Un vrai délice merci beaucoup

The ottoman empire were primarily turks, its state language was ottoman turkish, so what are you getting at Lahmacun was always part of turkish cuisine and your little rant wont change that fact, and if you want to get reaaaally technical, one could make the case that lahmacun wasnt even a arabic invention, rather an assyrian one.
So i dont know what you are getting at, everything you said is wrong
@@mertroll1 I'm right. Your rant isn't even an argument against the facts stated by me. It's just demagogy.
No Turk, not one, that's singular, individual, solo homo Sapien in central Asia. The proto-(real)-turk says lahmacun is a Turkish dish. Only the settlers in the western parts.
So, please do yourself a favour, and get lost.
Every time I watch your videos, it will put a smile on my face. It is such joy to watch you teaching total strangers how to cook. keep up the good work.
I was admiring that stone! I am in Calgary and there are not enough 'Mediterranean' restaurants serving this meat pie they call it. But that is a beauty stone alright! You have made me so hungry!!!
Refika cok tesekkur ederim for explaining everything in so much detail….. love from Mumbai India 😊😍
I feel so nervous and sad today. Watching your video makes me feel better. You have such beautiful energy and I feel it when watching the video. You have a beautiful soul dear Refika. 😘 Love from USA ❤️
Hope you are feeling better already!

Fresh lahmacun Hits different i don’t like the takeaway lahmacuns
Who cares!
@@msnabih884 why y’all mad
@@CimP1905 Im not mad! What’s your problem Missy?

When travel restrictions are lifted, I'm coming to Turkey. Love from India 😘 I've always wanted to visit but now I want to go even more.
Also, its always interesting to see the similarities of ingredients and flavors between Indian and Turkish food.
Refika! I made it. I now have a sore tummy now because I ate too much. The best food is street food and your recipe is yummy. Thank you so much.
Welcome to India where culture, cuisine & language changes every 100 kms lahmacun has always been my favourite would love to taste the Turkish version.
Not fair! It's so early California!!! I can't make this for breakfast. Or can I?!?!?! I think I can. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Sure you can :))
To tell you the truth I ate one for breakfast today 😬 my kitchen is under construction and dor us and the workman I ordered.. (of course ordered a little more than needed so I had spare for breakfast..
@@Refika Refika how can you trust the restaurants in these days? Even one hygene or mask mistake of the staffs can make us Covid. I want to eat lahmacun and icli kofte (you should definetly do the recipe of it) but i cant, due to lack of trust. Fantastic video btw, i laughed so hard at the beginning:)
You Rock Dear🤟! I’m from Bulgaristan, and i used to have a turkish restaurant next to my work - they had a wood oven and baked lachmajun, pide and tava with minched beef. You inspires a lot, keep rocking. I’m watching you also on 24 kitchen. I was thinking that you have to put isot and you put in in the next moment! Just for an idea for future - kokoreci, tava djiger, ci kofte...
I’ve so wanted to travel to Turkey when I retired which happened to be the very day the “lockdown” happened here so no travel for me at this point, but ... The positive note that’s come out of this is you! You post, I get a sudden craving for what you’ve made and run to the kitchen to replicate it. I just did a huge market haul and did not pick up lamb, but will definitely get some in the next few days so I can make this. I think it will become a regular in my house.
I'm from Belgium and a Turkish bakery has recently opened near my school, I've been eating about 3 lahmacun a week lately. They're so good
I seriously need to come visit you..... You make cooking interesting but the eating is even better.
Absolutely blown away by how charismatic Refika is. One of the foods I miss the most is Lahmacun. And now I can make my own! Best day ever!
Refika, if you want your dream to come true, i am your guy, send that kit to me in France and my Turkish wife will definitely get to eat lahmacun made with it. :)

Yes yes yes yes yes!!! Lahmacun and ayran are the food of my childhood (I'm Romanian). There is no good lahmacun on France. Thank you for the recepie!

One of my favorites when I was in Turkey! I make it at home, I use tortilla's when I am lazy and don't make the dough. Lemon parsley and the onions on top yummy
Also Armenian, very delish I eat before. Lamb is my favorite, thank you for your recipe this I try to make
Eating this right now in Belgium and purchased the Lamachun out of my favorite Turkish store today. This is soooo addictive!!
You have become my favorite cooking show. Your presentation is perfection.
Thanks a lot for the easy dough. I'm married to a Turkish man (who is the best man ever 😉) and learning Turkish food. Making dough is the most difficult thing for me. I'm gonna try this recipe this weekend
My favourite food! I was wondering when you'll make a video about it. Great content as usual. Love your videos!
Thank you Refika. I used to work in an area of London where there were many Turkish people. There was this little take out place where the old man make Lahmacun. I used to have it for lunch everyday. I can now make it for myself. Thank you.❤ I am Indian.
Thanks for the inspiration! I have made it for my boyfriend, we loved it! One of it turned out heart shaped, what made us smile. The crunchiness and the bendiness of it is awsome!
It is impossible to find delicious lahmacun in Japan.
Thanks to this recipe, I got my lahmacun a real turkish taste. Teşekkürler Refika ❤️

Thanks for sharing, adding onions and lemon and parsley is just like giving life to food which in Pakistan every moms favourite and we do love it.. i would definitely try this atleast😍
Even being a passionate vegetarian does not hinder me in loving your posts. thank you!
I AM TOO!! and turkish gal living in turkey. i use something called soy minced meat. its very thin almost like breadcrumbs when you add how water it absorbs and pretty much looks and feels like meat. i sometimes put soy sauce too (even if theres tomato in the mixture) to give it some umami. i put my garlic in a rich manner because i always liked the taste and when theresnt meat i like the taste even more. or maybe if you dont want to add soy sauce just use a good tomato paste. then the rest is all same. and refika says when you freeze meat it gets drier but this one doesnt because that substitute is pretty spongy in the first place it soaks the water up. and i do this in bulk and put in the freezer in batches for 2 lahmacun each. in like ziplocks or something like that. when i want it i take it out of the freezer and i go to my bakery they already have good dough with yeast and a good hot oven, so i ask them to make the base and cook it for me, they do that for 2 liras or something like that for me. which is almost free. but if you dont have that comfort believe me that dough is so easy to make. i just eat this as a snack sometimes. i literlly eat it as hangover pizza. so its more conveniet for me that way. but you can do it too.
This was wonderful! My 12 year old thought it tasted like a cross between chelo kebab and pizza. We will definitely be eating this again!!
Bonsoir from Paris. This is the first time I am commenting on youtube and that’s because I have tried this recipe today and it tastes exactly the same as the one I have tried for the first time in my life in Lebanon.Thank you so much.
Un vrai délice merci beaucoup
