- Join us as we relive one of our favorite trips of the season! Cat caught a 170 lb. tuna at night and we had consistent action during the day near San Clemente. We cover recent trip conditions, fishing techniques, and tackle suggestions.

What rod and reel setup were you using for that big boy?
“I was using a 420gr jig” is that code for something?
Asking for a friend of course.
I’m referring to how heavy the jig was that I was using when I got bit. Depending on conditions, you’ll want to use a jig between 300 and 500 grams.
If it’s choppy or rougher weather or stronger current, you’ll need to use a heavier jig to get down into the zone where the fish are.
