At the back end of the Tuna season, Dovey and Spooner head South West coast in search of Tuna. A species that's been at the top of their target list.

Absoloutley great to watch,i used to fish over the wrecks and caught loads of cod and pollack,never thought we could catch tuna off the english coast,well done neil and tom i will be looking into booking a trip very soon,neil your face when tom lost that second fish cracked me up mate 😂

I've never done sea fishing before, after watching this I wouldn't mind giving it a go.
There's so many benefits to it!. Be an angler and fish all the styles you can . Don't limit yourself in such an amazing sport and hobby! Here in the UK sea fishing is free to do .no rod license no day ticket or club fees! (You can pay for charter boat sessions like this obviously ) But worth it!. Just the coast yourself and your gear ! Obviously there's still species size limits and byelaws for many to abide by but apart from that it's free fishing on the open coast!

I had a 6ft 8 blue shark when I was about 21 but it only weighed about 80lb and that wrecked me for about half an hour. As epic as a 400lb tuna looks I don't think I could handle it, my back would be in pieces, fair play spooner.

Tuna fishing in the UK makes the most expensive syndicate lake seem cheap as F@ck!! Great to see Tuna back in the English channel! But where the tuna are !!the sharks will be ! Won't be long before Great whites are here !!! Fun watch but will never be able to afford it ...

I know of syndicate waters that are over £1000 surely can't be more than that for a day?!?!
I went out last October with my brother and 2 of his mates.... Was £200 for the day each... We all had sore arms by the end day
Yea that was hilarious obvious, you could have been coached a lot better, eg. Hitting the drag early and slowing the boat and just keeping the reel ticking over real slow. Captain could have reversed, you are using reels, despite their size, not winches.
Winching kills arms really fast. Fella can reel for hours!

@@KordaTV Carp were my 1st love, and retain a special place in my heart. Not much I'd rather catch in freshwater.
But the things that inhabit the salty bits are something else.
I was all set to go for bluefin off Donegal n October 1998 (on the boat that produced the 986lb record that November), but a herniated disc put paid to that idea.
Great to see them established in the Channel now.
You should check out the old footage of how they used to catch them off Scarborough and Whitby in the 1930s - from a rowing boat!
