I wish thwt were the case for moat supports but for some reason in a huge amount t of my games both supports seem to completely ignore the tank. Especially at low levels. I've had many times where I am Orissa and I get to 20 hp and I'm hiding behind a pillar waiting for heals and I turn around and both healers are just tunnel visioned on something else. It blows my mind d how often people neglect the most important person on the team. And I'm diamond in open queue playing 50/50 tank and support. So I know how to play both roles. And I don't randomly blame everyone else.

I feel your pain. When I play Winston I take out the two supports in the backline and then my team loses a 4v3 while the enemy team doesn't have any support.
this game went from over relying on 2 tanks to now over relying on one super-tank that has room temp IQ and when he pushes foward and dies the entire team collapses great balancing

So many people nowadays don’t even like calling people they need to, a ton of people are on calls with others or some just have no mic. Though using callouts needs to be done a ton more, I gotta setup mine for the stuff that needs saying the most like heals and group up
I hate it when the enemy winston dives 1v4 my backline and not only gets a kill but survives without primal when i choose to keep his team mates from helping (forcing supports to heal eachother etc.) rather than peeling. Then "tank diff" in the chat.
So then don't just take space. Hold high ground and stop enemy from getting into power positions. You need to know when to retreat and optimize your abilities so you can do.this

Ill be honest. Its def not easy to rank up theiugh lower ranks as a tank unless you are really, really good. I got to diamond 1 as mostly tank in open queue and recently started trying role queue. I got placed insilver 5 and have slowly worked up to gold 3. But its been a slog. Many times ive lost more than ive won and im preyyt sure im playing an exceptional tank most of the time. But im not good enough just to carry games so i still rely on my team to do thwir part, and that is just asking a lot at lower levels. I dont care what you so at tank when you get a dps who only does 1k dmg, or a genji who want swap dying 20 times, you are in for a long game. I think i will eventually get to diamond, but it sure wont be easy and no amount of communication or game sense is going to change that.
At any level of plat on console you don't need to worry about help from your dps as Winston in the back line. Its easy clean up unless they have a brig imo.
Silver in tank here. Does it count as throwing when I can't communicate due to language barrier? Some of these players keep saying "tank gap" (including in hiragana or katakana) and tbh it gets pretty annoying.
There have been times where I've said to my support "I'm gonna need some hard pocketing I'm gonna pop ult" (ram main) and my supports show up and no heals are done so there's a potential 4 down for the enemy team (both supports and DPS) if my team capitalized on the half health and below remaining squishies. I typically pop ult when their team's together and we can attack in unison. I get that the opponents have a tank but if they have no supports then they get shredded. Also on console no one is talking and communicating so words are just falling on deaf ears. I shouldn't dive in as much as I should but if it's a choke point like sanctuary cave section with the payload occupying space I'm going to disrupt and condense their team as much as possible so they have no room and it's easy to mass kill, I feel like most of the games I lose are to incompetent teammates who c9
Do you focus the Tank hard enough? There are times you can just shield off his supports and then shoot down the Tank. As long as you're walking forward and holding space with cover, the enemy tank eventually will make a play and you shut him down

The most toxic game ranks is the middle ranks not everyone there is toxic but mostly the higher I feel are more not toxic only bc I feel like they don’t blame other ppl for the reason why there losing and they look at there own mistakes and also improve themselves everyone makes mistakes but if you want to be good you have to learn from them and (if you are a tank main I noticed a lot of tanks sometimes blame there healer or “I’m not being healed” when there being healed or they go in without there healer or team when your supposed to work together sometimes it’s exceptable like when you running out of time but what I don’t get is your a tank that’s supposed to help your team I sometimes play support and my tank would go in while your supports are being attacked at spawn by the enemy team tank some tanks just kill and don’t pay attention to anything else so it’s important to learn how to able to do certain things and what helps and what does not help especially when your playing in competitive basically what I am saying is learn from your mistakes) also a lot of ppl are also toxic in unranked too and they shouldn’t have any reason to be upset with anything cause again it’s unranked but they are and are big baby’s if you wanna play for fun or learn a character that you have no idea what your doing and you haven’t played the character play unranked if your playing to win/improve to test yourself to be better play competitive I hope this helps

I’m sorry but if your dps can’t kill a soldier just because he has high ground, that doesn’t mean you have to go high ground as tank. Send a healer with your dps to deal with their soldier. There are plenty of dps characters that can take high ground, self heal, or counter the soldier. A tanks job is not to take high ground to counter 1 singular dps. That’s just bending backwards for your teammates when you obviously just need to find more competent dps to play with. This video just screams “I cant win a 1v1 so if you don’t help me, you’re bad.”
This is a bad take. If the soldier is popping off because he's good, then being in a good position will make him a menace. Assuming the dps are in a worse position, then it will be harder for them to contest. Also, if the soldier is using high ground, then his supports will also be in a safe position to heal/ pocket him, making it absolutely the tanks job, not to kill, but to get him and his team off that good position.
This is so wrong, specially if that other DPS is the one creating tons of troubles for your team. Lets say there is a widowmaker on a high ground, she is oneshoting your team. It is hard for everyone to get close because she has a great position, so no one can't leave point or something like that. Then as a tank you something to dive on her and contest that space, either a doom, Dva,, Winston, etc, do then you deny her that space either by killing her or forcing her to leave and run, so then your team can actually move on. If not then what would be the point of a tank? For real 🙄

Tanks would be doing better if supports just focus healing their tanks instead damaging the enemy. I mean there is literally 2 roles that do JUST that in your team why are you damaging the enemy while your tank is getting shredded by the enemy team. If you're hard stuck bronze 5 going 5-11 against other bronze/silver players. Idk how you expect to rank up or why you should be rewarded for losing 2x as much as you win. Not to be a jerk but the only consistent thing in the equation of those 5 games is you. Now some games are actually virtually unwinnable. Plenty of top tier players in Unranked to GM vids lose games in ranks way below their skill level. Last thing is maybe try a new account where the mmr isnt as hard stuck.
Yeah, I'm a diamond 1 rank in open queue after years of grind. Just trying role queue and its near impossible to win no matter how good I do. I can go 35-5 with 16k dmg and then maybe I have a chance to win half the time. You just can't get consistent teammates and you certainly can't get teammates who will listen or play together. I can't tell you how many times I've pleaded with a support to heal someone or for a dos to stop going in 1v5, or to group uo so we can combo ults. Most of them just don't care

My problem is I typically get the worst dps so not peeling in that situation almost always leads to a team wipe

Open queue is much easier than role queue as there are not enough players for open queue

Silver in tank here. Does it count as throwing when I can't communicate due to language barrier? Some of these players keep saying "tank gap" (including in hiragana or katakana) and tbh it gets pretty annoying.
There have been times where I've said to my support "I'm gonna need some hard pocketing I'm gonna pop ult" (ram main) and my supports show up and no heals are done so there's a potential 4 down for the enemy team (both supports and DPS) if my team capitalized on the half health and below remaining squishies. I typically pop ult when their team's together and we can attack in unison. I get that the opponents have a tank but if they have no supports then they get shredded. Also on console no one is talking and communicating so words are just falling on deaf ears. I shouldn't dive in as much as I should but if it's a choke point like sanctuary cave section with the payload occupying space I'm going to disrupt and condense their team as much as possible so they have no room and it's easy to mass kill, I feel like most of the games I lose are to incompetent teammates who c9
Do you focus the Tank hard enough? There are times you can just shield off his supports and then shoot down the Tank. As long as you're walking forward and holding space with cover, the enemy tank eventually will make a play and you shut him down

I just wish I got good support, I’ll play as Ram and my two supports combined will have like 3k-4k healing all together, but my mercy’s usually pocket damage characters when I’ll be up front with 26+ kills

The most toxic game ranks is the middle ranks not everyone there is toxic but mostly the higher I feel are more not toxic only bc I feel like they don’t blame other ppl for the reason why there losing and they look at there own mistakes and also improve themselves everyone makes mistakes but if you want to be good you have to learn from them and (if you are a tank main I noticed a lot of tanks sometimes blame there healer or “I’m not being healed” when there being healed or they go in without there healer or team when your supposed to work together sometimes it’s exceptable like when you running out of time but what I don’t get is your a tank that’s supposed to help your team I sometimes play support and my tank would go in while your supports are being attacked at spawn by the enemy team tank some tanks just kill and don’t pay attention to anything else so it’s important to learn how to able to do certain things and what helps and what does not help especially when your playing in competitive basically what I am saying is learn from your mistakes) also a lot of ppl are also toxic in unranked too and they shouldn’t have any reason to be upset with anything cause again it’s unranked but they are and are big baby’s if you wanna play for fun or learn a character that you have no idea what your doing and you haven’t played the character play unranked if your playing to win/improve to test yourself to be better play competitive I hope this helps

Tank is really fun to play the problem is 95% of games you get supports that just completely ignore you and don’t know how to keep you alive

@@lukedorney3933 I think both can be true, tank definitely feels rewarding when your popping off and carrying, but also your 100% right if your DPS and supports don’t hold their own weight your essentially useless and can’t do anything about it. I find myself tank diffing in so many games and still losing because my team has zero game sense and just sucks at the game
@@eternalglow6483 exactly. that’s why i haven’t been playing much tank recently. from the terrible dps balance changes to the rock paper scissors philosophy it’s just not a fun role to play anymore. it feels as if you’re required to pick a certain tank to win the game based off what the other team picks. i wanna win playing a character i love and enjoy not by swapping to a hard counter and just existing bc i can’t play the character i want.

Man, Idaf about rank, I just want a competitive fun match. If I’m struggling as tank, it’s the worst experience. Your team instead of adjusting and helping you, they berate you no matter how positive and how much effort you put in. This video didn’t really answer anything
I’m genuinely confused on how the OW community is ok with this ranked system. How has nobody shoved it down blizzards throat that this new ranked system sucks ass, it’s unplayable and a waste of time. We need to get blizzard to change it back ASAP
@shorelinefishing9213 Well at this point I have over 130 hours in quick play and I’m slowly getting bored of it. I would like to grind ranked but it’s a complete shit show. It’s genuinely a waste of time and impossible to feel any sense of progress or motivation. It’s the worst ranking system I’ve seen in any game
For me I dislike Ranked for a different reason, yeah the current system is shit but also... That damn Ranked Queue time is dogshit. You can end up waiting for 25 mins even an hour, get into a game, and then lose it's frustrating.
They should yes changed the current ranked system, but they should also work on that queue time or some shit

@@Skycube100 im currently plat 3 in DPS (thats where i placed after my 5 wins) and ive yet to play another match since then because the queue times are so bad. i waited 15 minutes one time and never tried again

I’m sorry but if your dps can’t kill a soldier just because he has high ground, that doesn’t mean you have to go high ground as tank. Send a healer with your dps to deal with their soldier. There are plenty of dps characters that can take high ground, self heal, or counter the soldier. A tanks job is not to take high ground to counter 1 singular dps. That’s just bending backwards for your teammates when you obviously just need to find more competent dps to play with. This video just screams “I cant win a 1v1 so if you don’t help me, you’re bad.”
This is a bad take. If the soldier is popping off because he's good, then being in a good position will make him a menace. Assuming the dps are in a worse position, then it will be harder for them to contest. Also, if the soldier is using high ground, then his supports will also be in a safe position to heal/ pocket him, making it absolutely the tanks job, not to kill, but to get him and his team off that good position.
This is so wrong, specially if that other DPS is the one creating tons of troubles for your team. Lets say there is a widowmaker on a high ground, she is oneshoting your team. It is hard for everyone to get close because she has a great position, so no one can't leave point or something like that. Then as a tank you something to dive on her and contest that space, either a doom, Dva,, Winston, etc, do then you deny her that space either by killing her or forcing her to leave and run, so then your team can actually move on. If not then what would be the point of a tank? For real 🙄

Tanks would be doing better if supports just focus healing their tanks instead damaging the enemy. I mean there is literally 2 roles that do JUST that in your team why are you damaging the enemy while your tank is getting shredded by the enemy team. OW 2 has become too much tank reliant if your tank dies you lose, so all you "DPS" supports out there just focus on healing please

I achieved 5 wins yesterday. I finished 5 and 11. Still Bronze 5. List 4 in a row to get my last win. Not buying into thia coaching anymore. The rank system sucks.
Sadly your right. The ranked system as of right now is a complete waste of time. It’s a complete mystery on how to actually rank up it’s essentially just luck or something like who even knows how it works. I’ve fell in love with this game and become super addicted but the ranked system is so bad and unplayable it pisses me off

If you're hard stuck bronze 5 going 5-11 against other bronze/silver players. Idk how you expect to rank up or why you should be rewarded for losing 2x as much as you win. Not to be a jerk but the only consistent thing in the equation of those 5 games is you. Now some games are actually virtually unwinnable. Plenty of top tier players in Unranked to GM vids lose games in ranks way below their skill level. Last thing is maybe try a new account where the mmr isnt as hard stuck.
Yeah, I'm a diamond 1 rank in open queue after years of grind. Just trying role queue and its near impossible to win no matter how good I do. I can go 35-5 with 16k dmg and then maybe I have a chance to win half the time. You just can't get consistent teammates and you certainly can't get teammates who will listen or play together. I can't tell you how many times I've pleaded with a support to heal someone or for a dos to stop going in 1v5, or to group uo so we can combo ults. Most of them just don't care
