One issue you'll find trying to climb is that sometimes the heroes you most want to main don't find as much value in a certain ELO. Prime example, Lucio. I have more hours on Lucio than any other hero in the game clocking a little over 2k hrs. He's literally the whole reason I started playing Overwatch. But in the lower ranks, it's super hard to climb with him because people are simply bad at the game. Without brute force healing your tanks will fall and everyone will start to cry about lack of heals. They won't understand how to use your speed to engage/disengage etc....yet the higher you climb the more important playing a good Lucio becomes. On the flip side is a hero like say Moira that has huge carry potential in lower ranks but when you get to that Diamond or higher level you're gonna get flamed for playing a Moira because she offers very little in the way of utility.
This comment right here, i agree wholeheartedly bro - I absolutely love playing Lucio but at a certain elo people care so so much about the amount of healing they get.
@@carts.g it's because they simply can't function without a ton of healing. They don't understand how to play hard cover, how to use high ground, and their mechanics are lacking. Once you get to Plat and even some high Gold lobbies are where people start to have a little understanding of how to actually play the game. Lower than that and it's mostly people running around blindly just trying to chase kills. No idea what cooldowns have been used, who has what ult coming up, etc.... I think honestly the hardest lesson most lower ELO players have to learn is how to know when a fight is lost and retreat or die on point. Instead they will sit there fighting a 1v5 like they are gonna magically overpower a whole team 🤣
"play the hero you enjoy the most" is my fav mindset about this, obvi its good to have a few heros for different situations but just have fun For me it relates to like, how someone can get super angry in voice yelling at ppl ect and ruins the whole vibe of the lobby, why are you playing if not to have fun? It usually the same ppl u see raging in voice and text chats in multiple games
just a friendly suggestion to anyone, if you THINK you found your main but still cant climb, try choosing a hero that’s the complete opposite of the type of hero they are, you’ll be quite surprised
Of course Junk and Widow are the same, they both have traps and can zone out the enemy from an area while making it hard for enemies to strike back along with similar mobility options to reach ledges
Im a echo main and she can brawl, dive, and poke but she might not be the best in any of these comps. Its the flexibility that allows her to choose what kind of engagement she wants to do. She can poke until certain abilities are used and dive or she can just straight up brawl due to her massive amounts of fire power
Played moira for the first time a few days ago. Yesterday I won a match at 50 kills and 2 deaths. most matches i get around 25 kills.and less than 10 deaths. Either I'm a cracked moira or she is just easy to play.
Hey I’m a new sub from the marvel rivals content. I love that game and I think making a video like this for Marvel Rivals would help SO many players including myself. I come from a fighting game background when it comes to multiplayer, so archetype breakdowns like this really help. Thanks
I know this Rivals and OW isn't 1:1 and the meta will evolve - but the Dive / Poke / Brawl concept would be amazing to see for Rival Players. Not necessarily the Hero picks. MR still evolving obviously. I've been searching more and more for OW videos to learn basic concepts. Reminds me of when I was looking at CS videos for VALORANT. Also wondering if this is the right categorization for Tank? So I can decide which tank to learn next. (I got Strange/Groot down - I used venom before, but feel like Hulk is better) Poke - Strange, Peni, Magneto Dive - Hulk, Venom, Cap Brawl - Thor, Groot, Magneto
These guides are too general, and way too afraid of getting into the deep and technical aspects of the game. If someone really wants to climb, I would really think actually laying out who does what and all the exceptions out in a more detailed format would be so much better. If some tanks can technically classify as brawl or poke, why not list every single one that can possibly be in this category and in what situations that cause this to happen? Some people need more obvious and direct information in order to understand these things.
Did you watch the same video I did? And why are you so upset over someone trying to help new players that need to master fundamentals to have a good foundation, so the question is why on earth would you believe someone would be "afraid" to give a more detailed explanation because that just seems like a foolish outlook to me.
if you have good aim and positioning that is. I hate it when I have a brawling zen and they almost always die instantly, barely getting any kills just death counts
I've only played hanzo for the last year, its fun not caring and just letting the arrows fly. Sure, I still suck at dealing with a genji or hitting a junkrat/ anyone else with a back piece, in the back of the head
For Sigma, I find Reinhardt has been the easiest way of dealing with him. His spheres don't do enough damage to scare me off (especially with a decent pocket) and shield can be used effectively against rock. SIgma's shield and suck are basically useless against most of Rein's kit, because he can just hammer or charge. If he uses suck against your fire strike that gives you free rain to just charge at him in the right scenarios. His charge brings Sigma really low. Timing is always important cause unlike Mauga, you're charge can be stopped by rock. So waiting for rock to go on cooldown is crucial. When you're playing against Sigma, you need to play more aggressively cause of his lack of burst damage against your high HP/Amour. I can't exaggerate this enough. DO NOT CHARGE IF YOU'RE NOT SURE IF ROCK IS OFF COOLDOWN!!! You will end up feeding into the enemy and then they'll be without a tank. The only problem with Sigma is if his barrier isn't delt with or his rock hasn't been used. You are at risk of wasting shatter cause both are fast enough to deal with Shatter.
Everything you say contradict whatever other youtubers say… especially the supprt part! Since release of Overwatch 1 we all agree than main support >>> mainly healing and supporting like Mercy Ana maybe Moira, but off support are the ones that their main thing is dmg and have some support capabilities like dmg boost and speed boost (Zenyatta, Lucio, Brigette)
I dont think you cant really pick mains in the tank role. Only 2 tanks you dont have to learn to play is doom and wreaking ball you really need to know atleast how to use the other ones in specific circumstances cause you know... counterwatch
@@ezrajamesgames5659 I just mentioned those 2 because they are the hardest tanks to play well and Dva and winston both can perform similar roles. Doom and ball onetricks are scary though dont get me wrong but they take alot of play time to be that level.

i just watched your old one.... why didnt yt recommend the new one LOL, also should i let who i am good at playing affect my decision? on whether i want to aim or not
The only way I have every found to climb is by playing the most broken hero at my rank in a given season (i.e., I was peak silver 2 tank in overwatch 1 but then Mauga came out and I hit plat 5 on tank in season 9 of OW2 one-tricking Mauga). I don't know why but I just can't adapt to the massive changes they keep making every few months. I'm peak plat 3 in DPS but currently hard-stuck gold 4 since they added the headshot crit reduction passive for tanks and now I just get chased all over the map by unkillable tanks unless I'm playing Pharah or Sombra.
Im a soldier main still low hours in the game and come from an fps backgorund. Soldier makes the most sense to me. Not the best hero but one i can use fully.
