At 10:50 he mentions that you have to turn a piece to make it fit properly. This is the kind of attention to detail that I was hoping for, because Yugi specifically mentions having to rotate a piece to get it to fit in the first chapter of the manga when he's actually assembling the Millennium Puzzle, and that specific detail is what makes this faithful enough for me to want to purchase it. Great job.
That and the last piece is the eye.
I have one. Sits on my TV stand. Really nice and was fun to put together. It also holds together really well although I did have one mishap where it fell and shattered apart. I will honestly recommend it, but how you spend your money is on you.

Nice to see that the actual puzzle itself is pretty complex. While I know some might not like it, I appreciate that they wanted to make it an actual puzzle to pay respects to the series.

Looking at him assemble the puzzle reminds me of the episode where had Yugi to duel and win back the puzzle from Keith. He had to reassemble the puzzle after Keith broke it when he knew he was gonna lose against Yugi

Yu-Gi-Oh can be surprisingly dark. People being eaten, people being blown up, people being tied to electric chairs that is set to kill them if they make a sound while a serial killer is hired to go after them, people being forced into climbing a giant Tetris game room while trying to avoid being crushed to death by giant Tetris blocks. Just to name a few...
@@redsybot8303 how would the pharaoh’s ashes be in it if the millennium puzzle was made for his dad to use? The millennium items were made using 99 human sacrifices from the village of Kul Elna. After the original wielder died, it was given to his son, Atem to have since he’s the new Pharoah. He trapped his own soul in it later to keep Zorc trapped inside it.

So I own this kit and one of my favorite things I found about it is this is a 1/1 model kit. This is the exact size as in the anime and that's so cool to see. Cosplayers would really enjoy fit this into a Yami Yugi cosplay
I hadn't thought that far, but I have contemplated getting a plastic chain and painting it like a real one to complete the image.
Now all it needs is a chain.
While both kits look pretty fun to get for the puzzle and the box, the fact that you confirmed a standard 1/144 RX-78-2 sized figure fits perfectly in the box like an actual sarcophagus caught my eye the most! Has some nice potential for some pharaoh-type custom gunpla as you said~! Thank you for sharing!

(9:55) With the puzzle completed, Mecha Gaikotsu was infused with mystical energy, had to share a body with the spirit of a pharaoh and now has the goal of beating everyone at a children’s card game which literally everybody plays for some reason.
I got about halfway through this…before I gave up and just looked up a guide. No wonder why yugi took a phew years to get this thing done…
Also, unlike us who knows what the end result is supposed to be, Yugi had NO idea at all.

Those was my most recent model kits and I really love how complicated the puzzle is. It took me 3 hours to completely solve the puzzle without help. And even if you had done solving the puzzle, it is still a nice piece of decoration to sit on your desk.
The symbol you're talking about is the Eye of Wdjat (wood-jhat), and the puzzle is the only one of the 7 Millenium Items to have it. The other 6 have the Eye of Anubis

I've always wanted a working Millenium Puzzle and as a fan of Bandai's model kits this was a match made in heaven.
As an absolute fan of Yu-Gi-Oh back in the day, having a functioning Millennium Puzzle was a dream of mine. I might have to invest in these!

I fell off of Yu-Gi-Oh as a card game a while ago because it's just not fun to play anymore, but I'll never lose my respect for the ridiculousness of the first season's anime. When I saw this kit announced, I preordered it ASAP and had a great time putting it together. Like you, I expected a typical 3D puzzle with locking sections, but they were as true to the source material as they could be and I think the engineering is outstanding.
Took me 2 hours to do it so even though it wasn't a competition, I can say I have been outbrained by Mecha Gaikotsu.
Ever since I got into building model kits and I saw they had the millennium puzzle as a kit I’ve wanted it. Watching this video also makes me want to rewatch Yu-Gi-Oh!

A real grade winged dragon of Ra sounds cool to me.
Mattel had some pretty decent ones for the Egyptian Gods back in the day. They came in pieces instead of on a runner, but they were so cool looking.

Ok seriously as fan of the series I love the attention to detail that they have for the lore. In the anime the last piece was the millennium eye just like with this kit. Super cool can't wait to get one
Not only that but, as a different commenter pointed out, there's a single piece that only fits if you put it into place, then rotate it. Something yugi actively SAYS he had to do for one of the pieces when he was actually building the puzzle.

Yeah i was able to help someone with this millennium puzzle online. It's quite a tricky puzzle to complete till it clicked in my head on which piece goes which surpsingly! This is a fun kit to make and complete although best you have patience with this!

You could easily hide magnets inside the lid and walls of the box, so the lid had a bit more firm of a hold on it!
Finally, i am a big fan of puzzles, but they never made a millennium puzzle until now, a REAL puzzle, fairly complex also. Sensei Takahashi would approve.

Ok two questions,first how well does this stay together and second can i put like a chain or a rope around it to actually wear as a necklace, see for awhile now I've always wanted a wearable millennium puzzle that is the accurate size and scale as the one from the anime but could never find one so if this can give me that sense of nostalgic that I'll definitely buy it

Another neat detail that you can try, is adding a dark leather string to the kit, to make it a cheaper wearable accessory for whenever you want to to try a Yugi Moto or Yami Yugi cosplay, by simply threading the string through the hole, then tie it, cutting the excess string. Another way to do so, is using a small gold necklace chain to the mentioned area of the puzzle.

I remember getting so close to solving the puzzle my first attempt but leaving out an essential inner piece when I got near the end
I recently built the Dark Magician Girl from Kotobukiya and I would love to have that puzzle to go with it
Not strictly for injection moulded gold, but, I recently found a decent fix for plated gold kits. Chrome gold nail powder! Just prep the nasty nub with your favourite gloss black, and when it’s 95%dry rub on some of the chrome gold nail powder with an eyeshadow brush sponge thing. Better and easier than any gold paints I’ve tried.

i bought this kit and put it together with my dad. and it took me and my sis an evening to solve the puzzle, my sis did look up a bit of a guide. but it was fun
Man, it's great to see that the puzzle actually kinda lives up to its anime counterpart in terms of difficulty.
Me and my friends each had a kit of this and we built it together on stream! I was in first place and it only took me.... 3 and a half hours!
Man I love Yu-gi-oh and this reminds me that there is what people calls 'season 0' of Yu-gi-oh and it's the original concept of the series before it ended up being rebooted and more focused about the card game. In that season 0, as the title means, it's more about the Pharaoh posessing Yugi being the king of games and he ends up having to play dangerous games with various people that endangers his friends and he's the one that sends those people challenging him to the shadow realm when they lose (or cheat)

Nice job as a yugioh fan myself I’m impressed & actually jealous of that Sarcophagus by the did you Play the card game but if you did what deck would you play properly machine types since you’re a Gundam fanatic I’d probably would recommend the Ursarctic archetype it’s the most resembling type for Gundam plus their kinda cute bear like if you like them? Also if you just watched the anime & no interest in the game that’s cool too 🙂.
