Rick Sanchez is dueling Yami Yugi in a battle for the millennium Puzzle. Rick from rick and morty has travelled to the yugioh universe to duel the pharaoh. He has pickle rick and gromflomite in his deck as well as the winged dragon of ra. Yugi has the dark magician, dark magician girl and slifer the sky dragon in his deck.
Rick is on a pre rick and morty season 7 quest and he needs the millennium puzzle to find the location of Rick Prime. The millennium puzzle has the ability to open gateways to other realms. One well known is the shadow realm. Rick believes the puzzle the puzzle can also open gateways to other astral planes.
Kaiba tried to harness it to try and bring the pharaoh back from the spirit dimension (seen in yu-gi-oh dark side of dimensions). Rick believes that Rick Prime is moving in higher dimensions that his portal fluid alone cannot access. So he wants to create new astral portal fluid with the millennium puzzle.
In this duel we witness the battle of the Egyptian gods - Slifer the sky dragon vs the winged dragon ra.

@@husseinaboushanab4722 the eye with a red iris Rick puts on in the middle of the duel is a Sharingan, a special eye capable of performing ocular jutsu, from Naruto. From what I noticed, he used two: the Susanoo, which typically requires two of these eyes, that he uses to try to protect himself from Slifer’s attack; and Izanagi, which is revealed at the end to have been active. The Izanagi makes it so that reality is rewritten if the caster of the jutsu dies to make him survive instead, at the cost of the eye losing its powers and becoming blind
@@Graxil Eternal Mangekyo can also negate that drawback as well as powering up the other abilities like Perfect Susanoo. I'm surprised Rick didn't give himself EMS, considering the feats we've seen him do, upgrading the Sharingan without being of Uchiha blood wouldn't be out of the question for him.

It's kinda balanced since you have to pay 1000 life points to use only one of its effects once per turn. Imagine if you can use all its effects on the same turn.

Watching this full duel captures the feeling I had actually watching Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid. The way the dual ends is realistic and captures the feeling I had actually playing Yu-Gi-Oh. Even when the odds are 2/3 in your favor sometimes your cards or luck just brick.
For those who didn't notice rick cheated, he actived continuous spell card during a battle phase, which you can't.

I think the effect was a "during the damage step" kind of effect. And he could use it since Mr meeksees was activated earlier.
He didn’t activate the card. He triggered the effect of a card already in play.
The writing was amazing. Spot-on in capturing each characters' personality and how they would interact with one another.

@@jacobbelfegor8761 I believe one of Ra’s effects is you can sacrifice all Life points until you have 100 left to increase Ra’s Atk and def, which can only be given when it’s summoned. Otherwise, Ra’s atk and Def would be 0.

Personally Rick was a little off, I feel he would constantly be making fun of the game as he played.
The writing for this is actually amazing. I don't know how Rick got Ra but I love how you gave him an entire custom deck with cards that not only fit him but also that make sense.

@@TheBd0g I mean, the anime had a card that made both players send all cards in their deck besides 3 cards to the GY, a card that banished all monsters in both decks and then destroyed all monsters on the field, a card that made both players draw until they had 6 cards, and a card that made you draw until you had 5 cards in your hand but made you discard your hand after 5 of your turns. I think that a card that lets you draw 3 but costs 1000 life points is reasonable. The only complaint I have is that Ra's effect wasn't correct but even the team behind Yu-Gi-Oh GX got its effect wrong so it's not a big deal.
@@Shugunou Paying 1000 life points to draw 3 cards is ridiculously op, that's basically a pot of greed on steroids, and pot of greed has been banned for a long time for how unbalanced it is (and that's only one of the effects, this has 3).
But yes, there have been original cards, and actual cards that have been used in more ridiculous ways in the anime.
@G- It's ridiculously op in the real game but not in the anime where decks are usually less powerful. Pot Of Greed remained in use in the anime, even after being banned in real life. It wasn't until Vrains that they started applying the OCG banlist to the anime.

I love how Yugi and Rick sound like they are voiced by Dan Green and Justin Roiland. It's kind of funny how Yugi insults Rick for being a drunk. And it's also in character of Rick to use his science to get the Winged Dragon of Ra and a Sharingan. Rick's deck is a callback to previous Rick and Morty episodes.
I like how Yugi wins the duel rather than make Rick for the sake of showing his genius. And I love how, even in defeat, Rick has a contingency in case that he loses.

I love that the original cards Rick has are actually fairly balanced. The duels pacing felt just right, the characters behave about how I would expect, this is just an amazing and fun video all around!
Not the box tho, draw 3 for essentially free? Unlike runick that atleast need to dig into graveyard to gain that effect.

@Jessica T if meeseeks box was a real card, it would 100% be played in every deck, it's literally better pot of greed, generic draw cards are already the best cards ever made, with pot of gree being the best example, meeseeks box let's you draw MORE than the best and most overpowered draw effect, AND it has other abilities, although people would only ever use the draw or the bottom effect to return ANY spell or trap from your graveyard to your hand, so double monster reborn, double change of heart, double harpies feather duster, double raigeki, ect. And it doesn't even have to end there, you can return raigeki from your grave to your hand EVERY turn, and that's STILL weaker than drawing 3, absolutely busted but it does sound like tons of fun

I was honestly expecting crap but THIS feels like when you've actually read a crossover fanfiction. This is really good, especially the dialogue because it feels on point with their character.

What I'm trying to say is that the level of quality(at least on the writing and character aspect) is pretty much on par with what you could get with any good crossover fanfics out there. It isn't some shitpost that some would associate to any of those fan animation that uses some known and popular characters like in SFM and/or GMod animations for example. At least on this fan animation, the guy who made this knows how they say and act similar to how they did in their respective shows. And some of the voice lines are just hilarious.

Honestly, with both of them being that good, I expected this to end in a draw !
Rick not knowing what the Millennium Puzzle does is why it didn't end in a draw. He didn't figure out from the first three coin flips that the puzzle is deciding the outcome of luck-based effects for Atem. Because of that, he went for the safer option of rolling the dice to gain attack points instead of the 3 card draw because he figured the odds of winning on that turn were higher than getting the cards needed from 3 draws, but that was the worst decision to make if you know that the Puzzle makes it so you win all luck-based effects.

that was so much better than I could have ever anticipated, watching rick get his disrespectful ass handed to him with some tact and resolve was awesome, and also the cards that were added from his universe weren't bullshit either they were balanced and fair, honestly this was like watching robot chicken if it took itself seriously and had some good writers on staff that weren't comedy writers, well done dude, keep up the great work

The full parts in one episode is amazing as it flowed as if it was a original airing of the original series. This is heavily well done and I enjoyed it from it's beginning to this final section. I can not wait to see what will come next from the channel in the future.

@@embrikchloraker8186 well... to be fair. it wasn't >COMPLETELY< fairly. There were still shenanigans, namely by giving Pharoh the Seal of Orichalcos and tricking him to activate it. Then of course, plot shenanigans kicked in, because Atem's darkness took over due to the magic of the orichalcos so Atem got cocky and sorta became the villain for a bit, hence his plot armor didn't work ^^;
buuut, it was ~mostly~ fairly.
@@whitemageserenia Rafael didn't force him to use the Seal. He chose to use it and faced the consequences.
@@embrikchloraker8186 that's why I said "tricked" he goaded Atem through clever wording, basically toying with him and making him think the duel could only be solved by the seal of orichalcos (despite Yugi pleading for him not to use it)

* Target 1 Spell or trap card in your GY; add it to your hand.
Quite broken even with only 4000 LP, although Rick's deck is a little janky and Atem had his anime effects and Pot of Greed. Still, a very entertaining duel.

I love that in-universe, people just aren't allowed to check the effects of opponent's cards. I guess its kinda like an automated simulator in the sense the duel disk won't allow cheating but it goes to show the phrase "Yu-Gi-Oh! players can't read" is actually just canon.
