- In recent years, video games have found an important niche in the entertainment industry. Whether a game is directed towards a casual audience, or caters to a competitive scene, the overwhelming majority of games have some underlying plot. Often times, games present a story through "cutscenes," or cinematics involving the characters. Pre-rendered cutscenes are present in some games, but often lack a degree of interactivity, since they don't always pander to an individual's specific in-game actions. As a result, in many games, such as Paper Mario, the developers chose to stick with "real time" cutscenes, where the cinematic actually takes place during gameplay. What this means is, for example, rather than just playing a previously recorded scene, characters can be seen walking from their current positions during a cutscene. While real time cutscenes are desirable in many instances, they are often more susceptible to glitches. As a role-playing game centered around an adventure, Paper Mario has many great cutscenes, but they aren't without their faults. In this video, we cover the 10 most interesting, broken cutscene glitches discovered in Paper Mario.

Now THAT would be interesting. Possibly triggering the ending again yet the castle is still there would be interesting.
Hazard Storage (#3) is my personal favorite both for the creativity involved in discovering it and for how creepy it looks when Mario's trembling in mid-air with his eyes flashing.
The last glitch gave me quite a laugh. The independent movement for spinning and jumping is cool, and riding lakilester on the zipline is cool too, but killing an NPC in place of an enemy? That's nuts, man. That's awesome.
i played every paper mario (yea even sticker star) and i can say they are super fun but none of them gives me this "yea i could play this over and over" feeling.

If there weren't a paper Mario community, these glitches probably wouldn't be found. And the game is very stable. The only reason why these glitches were found because Stryder, Bonecrusher, Rain, and people like them have a lot of talent and are persistent, and done so they have broke the game.

Once during the second Mayor cutscene after he got up but before he went to grab the gift from the shelf, I paused for a pee break. It was paused for a while but when I came back and unpaused, I was surprised to see the Mayor's sprite was replaced with an ordinary bumpty sprite.
Bumptymayor walked over to the shelf and the game crashed, presumably to do with loading the gift-grabbing animation. It was the first and only time I'd seen the error handler screen, and I thought it was pretty sweet.
Have you ever heard of this particular crash? Any idea why it happened?
I think he covered this glitch in another video. I don't remember which one, though...
Stryder7x I wanted to say, if you haven't found it already, there is a stack of boxes in the desert town nearby that spellcard place, where if you jump around it enough, you collide through the boxes and into a small area (I'm not sure about this part) That makes glitches VERY eay.
I really like how that exact same room keeps popping up in this channel. Maybe programming a spring to "end a cutscene" and give you the ability to jump on it without starting a cutscene was not not such a hot idea after all, lol.

This is absolutely crazy. Great job. The sad thing though, is that games will NEVER have the same type of fascination with how they work that games had in the pre-online console era. And games used to have such things as legendary glitches that added to the lore of the game. It feels so much more rebellious to glitch through a wall in an old game than it does to drive 150 MPH in Need For Speed; it's rebelling against the lack of freedom allowed by the almighty creators. With modern games, if there's a problem, it can be quickly fixed via an online update. In the pre-online console era though, the game that was released initially was the game we got. We have fascination with what the developers were thinking years ago when making it, because there were no updates along the way; kind of like digging up a book that someone buried.
