- Finding complicated glitches can be exciting, but sometimes the small developer oversights are just as interesting! In this Top 10, we count down the most obvious mistakes that should've been fixed before Paper Mario was released.

That tree hitbox thing is so freakin cool. Makes me wonder what other games have made similar errors that have gone unnoticed for decades just because it's something that not many people would really think to look for.

I still cant believe I occasionally find nitro rad watching videos I watch!
Personally, I think mistake number 6 may be because they wanted to make the coins reflect on the mirror wall, but forgot to move the coins into the reflection, hence double coins.
I don't think I was meant to see Paper Mario from other angles. It just feels wrong and foreign.

Funnily enough, your point at 7:51 reminds me of some experiments I had done a while ago with the Battle Memory in Mother 3. I was interested in how the game said the New Year's Eve Bomb's bio stated it could be a dud, so I got curious and tested it out on every enemy in that mode. It worked on _every_ minor enemy but almost no boss enemies. The bosses it did work on were the King Statue (the gimmick boss revolving that item) and the Cactus Wolf. The latter was odd in that it was much like the Fuzzipede in your situation; not only should he use his boss status to resist the attack, but access to that power/item can only be accessed in a future chapter, making it mostly a moot point.

I think it’s likely just because you’re not supposed to have the item at that point, so they don’t bother to make sure everyone is immune
Another possibility is that you were suppose to have it earlier in the game and have it work on them, but it simply never happened

Flayzuh I think the mistake with the Odd Key is the only one that’s dangerous. Mario’s only supposed hold a certain number of key items at a time or else he’ll be forced to throw one away, thus preventing any further progression in the game.

Freeruns already exist I believe.
But you can crash it in 0:00.000 seconds easily.
I imagine one of the fastest ways to complete Crash% would be to obtain Goompa and try to open the partner menu...at least, when you're not playing the JP version of Paper Mario. Otherwise, swap to him in a battle while it's your turn.
I've crashed SM64 (yes, irrelevant) by deleting a nonexistent file and by going to a PU on console.

7:14 I just noticed, when Mario is on the camera side of the mirror, the door in the mirror doesn't open when he goes through it. This also happens at 6:50.

5:35 my guess is that whenever an ally gets "hit"(by colliding with a hurtbox or being attacked(both might just tell whatever entity they hit to take X amount of damage)). the game tries to apply damage to that ally. but because you arent in a battle. their hp isent pressent / able to be changed. so it just defaults to mario.
tho this might not be true as other allies can touch the lava and mario doesnot suddenly take damage. tho maby it is true because maby they made it so when their above lava their hitboxes get disabled so it doesnot happen?
What if it was the other way around? As in, taking 2 damage is the intended behavior and all the others are messed up. My guess is that originally, Mario is supposed to take 2 damage on all hazard damage. However, after some testing they realize its too much and decided to reduce it to one. But the damage dealt by hazards is apparently set individually for every possible hazard interaction, and whoever was changing all the damages missed "While holding Watt".
There isn't a single "touch lava take damage" code, since you're not supposed to take damage while riding Lakilester.
I'm just not buying an explanation involving partner hitboxes since I can't imagine why someone would go out of their way to add damage interaction with partner's at all since they don't have hp or such. They're like toads, they don't have hp. All they do is push and be pushed by mario.

I can almost guarantee you the double coin glitch is caused by the mirror mechanic. I haven't played the game, but presumably, they have a playable mirror mario inside the mirror, as well as mirror coins. Even if they're not being displayed, they could be there, but hidden. When you collect the foreground coins, it's possible mirror Mario is collecting mirror coins.

I also found something: If you take the shortcut beneath Toadtown to get to that Dry Dry Desert city, it is impossible to obtain Parrakerry unless you start all over again (or if you didn't save till that point, reset the game.)
@Stryder7x in TTYD staying at an inn 50 times will activate a special cutscene where the innkeeper congratulates Mario, a reporter takes a photo of him, and a 200 coin prize is awarded, does this mean sleeping at an inn too much can crash Paper Mario?
