  • I've talked about YouTrip and Trust Bank so much that they both have a dedicated playlist on their own. Ever since I moved to South Korea I decided why not give Wise Card a go since I'm going to be here for a while and Wise Debit Card did not let me down. Pretty similar to YouTrip's platform allowing you to convert currency in advance to lock in rates that could be advantageous to you. So here's a comparison between Wise Card and YouTrip. It's also possible to withdraw money using Wise Debit Card to get better rates as compared to changing cash in Singapore. Hope this helps you as the holiday season is approaching! (I'll cover Revolut soon!!)

    Maybe one of you can explain the following on the wise home page on the bottom. "The Program is not intended to be a long-term investment option, checking or savings account, investment contract or security." I'm a lawyer and I contacted wise and they don't know either. This statement is highly problematic without further clarification. Just think about it for a second. What happens if you leave your money in there for too long and what is too long. Account closure? Locked account? What???

    Hi Demi, thank you for the great video. I'm new to Wise. I have a question about using the card. In the card page on the app there is a add money button, do we need to add specific currency to the card that we want to withdraw or as long as we have converted to the currency and have it in the account atm withdrawal will deduct from there?

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you can add your main currency e.g. SGD then convert in app if it's a supported currency to lock in rates then withdraw. If not the rates will be at the current point of withdrawal.

  • @swedendive
    @swedendive 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You must change the currency in each country in the Wise app? Or you keep your own currency - when take out money from ATM.

    Hi Demi, I’m surprised you are just mentioning about this card. I have been using it since it was still called Transferwise back in the day. The rates are one of the best and the best thing is that it allows remittance to other overseas bank accounts. The only con I can think of is that the funds are kept under a bank account in your name but under Wise’s name which means you can withdraw funds from brokers.

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why is that a con though?

    • @kitsura
      @kitsura 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DemiZhuang I meant to say you cannot withdraw funds from a broker, also since it is a custodian account they could run away with your funds since it is not held in your name.

      Hi! Still good to withdraw some cash or change before you come. For places like the traditional markets and a small chance that the dining place you go to only accept cash. (Largely, most places accepts card payments). YouTrip Pin is the same pin u use to login the app
