    the way you say goodbye at the end of your videos has made me cry more than one time.
    i'm not super involved with your channel but i've been stopping by to watch videos you've made for a while and every time i click on a video, joining you for a meal or as something that caught my eye while trying to drift off to sleep to listen to, i find myself engrossed in the story you tell. your voice is soothing in a way i find difficult to put to words, and even when something is tragically difficult you describe it in a way that, while not downplaying it's difficulty, makes it seem surmountable. every journey i join you for is bittersweet to hear the end of and after choosing to spend my time "at your side", being told to go out into the world and bring a little kindness into the lives of those around me, it puts me at ease in a "this too must pass" kind of way. of course, sometimes i'm brought to tears simply because i needed to hear someone say that they wanted to hear my thoughts, or that they wanted me to have a genuinely wonderful day, but it still imprinted on me as something important enough to comment about.
    i'm genuinely considering just chipping in those .99 cents a month it would take to join the channel, just because of the way these little collective experiences have made me feel, but for now, just, thank you. i'm glad to be around.
    here's to new experiences on a new account :>

    • @SpuddyCube
      @SpuddyCube  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I'm really glad that I can provide that sort of comfort for you! I tend to love to watch/listen to things at similar times. Be it going to sleep or having food, I tend to enjoy having a video playing. It's a really surreal experience to be able to provide that for someone else, but it's also incredibly rewarding.
      There is a sort of "shouting into the void"ness to doing what I do. It's easy to lose touch with the human element behind it. Without feedback, there's just numbers. And numbers don't tell the same story that people can. So even when it's just one person sharing how they felt... Well, it's really hard to put into words just how much that means to me.
      Genuinely, thank you for just being here. It's already far more than I could ask for, and thank you for giving me a glimpse of what's on your mind. For all of the time and effort spent to make these happen, it makes it more than worth it to hear. I hope to not disappoint!

    "Those who make jolly cooperation impossible make violent eradication inevitable."
    DAMN, that quote legit goes hard. Also, I like how you basically used the "make so many of us, the predators simply _get full_ and can't eat anymore, while the others of us keep storming up the beach past them" tactic. Reminds me of that one scene from "Walking with Monsters", with the eurypterids. :P

    Two things that can really help with tribal stage: firstly, if you send a gift-bearer to a tribe in the process of raiding you, they won't attack unless you do first. This works even if your creatures have literally zero speed. Secondly, while aggressive tribes made neutral will eventually grow hostile again, befriending them to the blue face will prevent further aggression without being provoked directly.

      Thank you! I appreciate it! I can't say that I've ever done theater, though I absolutely am a TTRPG nerd. I did want to try out for the courses back in college, but they were sequential, and I found my love of performance right after the first one had passed. So for better or worse, the window was well and truly closed.

      I wouldn't be against giving something like audio books a shot, but I wouldn't even know where to begin trying it out. I'd also imagine the time commitments would be pretty brutal. It does seem like it could be a lot of fun though.
