    The fact that these kinds of things happen every day despite of the work field only reinforces for me the idea that adults on work are exactly like little children on school. We didn't change a bit. No maturity, no kindness

      PREACH 🙌🙌. We all honestly have to recognize when this is happening. We desperately need to check our own energy and intentions when speaking on and about others in the work space. That is the time when we need to self evaluate and self improve if or when we find ourselves doing these very same things that you've spoken of. Great comment 👏🏽

    My Co-workers gossip so much about one another. They will smile in your face than 2 seconds later talk about you behind you back. I'm quiet and don't say much and just today I said right in front of my gossipy co-workers that I know I get talked about but guess what? I don't care what anyone thinks about me. 2 of them got quiet and started acting extra nice to me. It's laughable!!

    I think if you're creating scenarios in your head of imaginary confrontations at work - you need to get a new job. That to me is a sign that you can no longer maintain the boundary between work & home/play/down time & that you're becoming jaded with your occupation. I'm currently job hunting for that reason.

      That’s been about 99.9 percent of most of my jobs haha. I do sit and wonder what part I played in my jobs I’ve had in the past and am trying to change my behavior. What’s odd is that people here in Southern CA don’t know how to even have a personal conversation this is usually how the conversations goes,
      Me: hi where are you working…
      Future co worker: I’ll be working in this area…
      Questions people ask me = 0.
      And this is how everyone is in Southern CA. No one can communicate with anyone it’s sad. People are so predictable in CA everyone’s the same and it’s sad.

I just heard today that a customer complained about gossip and miserable workers. So yes customers will not go back if they aren’t respected, also co workers will quit if they see cliques and drama and gossip. I just think if one wants to creat drama then it’s time to get fired. Also you can talk to others at work. I have been bullied when I keep my mouth shut. Sometimes peoples behavior needs to be talked about ! Listen to your NEW workers too since they’re not adapted to the culture they are the ones who can tell you where the problems lie since they see it from a fresh view ( not always but sometimes, also teach new workers how to address these situations because we are often brought into the drama !!! And if we don’t want to be we get turned on )

      @@Nurse_Shelly44 I recently started experiencing it, and what helped me was keep being good and keeping light on the situations and set boundaries by not making yourself too available. Show yourself when it's advantageous to you, your reputation, and puts you on a positive light. And hopefully by then, management will find your cause noteworthy and puts you on a positive light and in turn will make people like you better.
      It's a lot like a dance, of being extremely low key and showing yourself just a little everytime it's advantages to you. Over time, those positive moments increments and becomes a big thumbs up to your reputation. But yeah, keep yourself out of it for the most part.
      I'd be interested how your situation is going now, whether you've done anything to remediate it or learned something moving forward?

I do know that workplace bullying/ toxic work culture leads to burnout for me. But I'm feeling better after work with removing myself from the negativity as much as I can. Thanks for posting this video! I attract so much workplace drama especially when i do thing the right way and all my older coworkers are doing things the "easy" way instead and they always make me look like i'm a bad person because i'm usually the youngest in the room! My usual solution is to go find work somewhere else! 😭

    Then I would apply the"walking away strategy"

    I started dating a colleague and a select few others decided they didn’t like this.
    For about 4 months all any of those people did was make drama about it and we’d hear about it from the rest who didn’t care.
    Some people are just bored 🤷‍♀️

    For real like i work in a thrift shop is stressful. Like sometimes my boss assumes im doing something wrong and im thinking this needs to stop and its stressful and my boss speaks Spanish so i do my best to ignore any negative drama. I shake my head and put my headphones in. But, really i have no idea what I'm doin sometimes and suffer with asthma and ADHD. I work hard to do what i can

    This was great! Only part that I found mildly irritating was the characterization of the new generation of workers. It comes off as the overused stereotype that young people only exist online, and cannot function in a traditional setting, despite the fact that most have been in schools without extensive technological interference.

    • @kumarashish1181
      @kumarashish1181 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it because of coming from such schools they are over indulged in online presence? A thought.

    I believe this talk's title it wrong, it's more like "How to walk away instead of talking about and establishing healthy bounties and behaviors at work". How are your co-workers supposed to know you didn't like something if you just walk away instead of discuss what happened that you didn't like & how to do it differently next time?

    • @dawnmerrill295
      @dawnmerrill295 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe she established that with the teacher reference. She said, "No more coming to Jesus talks. It's time to walk away."
