It's nice for such machines to be restored and used! The love and excitement for music can be started in many children and adults when such a sound can be produced with a dramatic flair as the concert organ can produce! Sadly, many of the old organs that were installed in churches have been pulled and scrapped because they were sold an electric organ, but it does nothing compared to those old machines of the past...
What a bass and how can it be this powerfull. WOW. To fullfill with sound the hall which is so huuuuge... Great wooden instrument sections, brass is also incredible and violin voices are just devine. I love chelesta section and bells too

I thought the main organ had seven manuals (keyboards). I see six. Could someone please clarify this? Regardless, this organ sounds phenomenal and bravo to the restoration done on it so far. I really hope they complete the work so that the organ is fully functional once again. The Wanamaker organ in Philly was fully restored so why not this organ?
This was hit by a hurricane and abused by careless crew teams and workers (abused is a bit of an understament, its hard to belive what they did). Thats why it is in worse conidition than the Wanamaker organ. It has 7 manuals.
It has seven. The highest one is typically hidden behind the music rack. The Wanamaker never had a lot of damage done to it, and is much more publicly visible, so it was easier for its restoration to be funded. This organ had a lot of damage done to the pipes from careless construction workers and water damage from leaky AC units, plus the basement was flooded by a hurricane in 1946 which damaged the blowers and destroyed the original combination action. The restoration is going well and is currently at 64% of the pipes playable, with a new solid-state electronic relay and combination action in place.
If you mean the dead console, it is original. They are going to restore it and use it so that 2 organists can play the organ at once. If you meant the Kimball theater organ, it is also original. No digital organs at boardwalk hall!
@@Charles-Reardon Idk about you, but I want to get to play that organ, once organists feel comfortable letting me play organs anyway, with my skill level at reading piano sheet music. You’ll find this interesting; I have around 10 years experience playing piano by ear, but I am not great at reading music because I haven’t devoted nearly that much time to it. Organists want me to have adequate piano skills before I go to play organs, and I really want to play organs.
You can always tell which commenters are Wanamaker fanatics. Give it a rest. When the M-L is fully restored they will both be the world's largest instruments, but in different ways. As far as I know, there is no competition between the two.
i still am in awe at how much progress has been made on the restore of this organ
I can not wait to hear it fully functional
yes I would love to buy a vinyl LP with a full organ concert of this superb instrument
watching more and more of this organ come back to life, nothing is more awesome

Oh this is recent. Sounds amazing!
The Ballroom Kimbell is the real, world-class instrument in A.C.
The painting next to the Mona Lisa, is how the tour guide described it

I love this location.
do a video of all the stops at the same time with that organ
Hey, nothing to see with the organs we have in France ! 😮
Maybe not as big, but you have Cavaille-Coll!
France is the best place on Earth. France is best at all things,I get it. This organ is ok, but its not as good as a child's xylophone from France.
Unfortunately no comments. Why?
Is that secondary console original to the boardwalk hall or is this console an Allen digital hybrid?
If you mean the dead console, it is original. They are going to restore it and use it so that 2 organists can play the organ at once. If you meant the Kimball theater organ, it is also original. No digital organs at boardwalk hall!
Does anyone know what song was being played at the beggining of the video?
How does this compare with The Wanamaker Organ" in Philadelphia at Macy's?
It’s a lot louder
Its about twice the size. The Wanimaker organ is, however the second largest! God Bless America!!!
Amazing Pipe Organ, nice theme, ...very bad capture..!!
Many thanks!
How were you able to get permission to play that organ?
I didn’t play it haha

It may be large, but that organ is a huge disaster and nightmare to restore and maintain.
I wouldn’t say it’s a disaster by any means. Especially when you see how much they have accomplished
A disaster worth enduring.
Great subject, but the video is so bitty.
What a jerk! You just spit on all the hard work the organ crew is doing.
