This performance by Scott Breiner, is exactly what the Midmer Losh was designed to do, full orchestral sound. Just brilliant, have waited years for this national treasure to come to life once again. Bravo Scott, very well done.

An absolutely wonderful concert. Every time I hear that organ played, I think of the Krell furnace from the movie "Forbidden Planet". Like the furnace, I think of the organ as an instrument of immeasurable musical power and potential. Restoring it is to provide it the opportunity to fulfill it's purpose. To call out to all who hear it and beckon them to enter the worlds and feel the emotions it creates through music.

Back in the early 50's I marched and played the accordion for a Tall Cedars parade which required a long walk on the boardwalk, God I wish I still lived in Point Pleasant so I could go back to Atlantic City and sit and listen to this majestic organ.

Does anyone have a full recording of Scott Breiner playing "Hornpipe" (the first song) because that has got the be the most beautiful piece Ive ever heard played on this organ.
this instrument an absolutely amazing mix of incredible engineering and art
as an engineer, I marvel at how they managed to build such a massive device with the technology they had at the time
I live in Utah and have heard the salt lake conference center organ and it absolutely blows me away
I can only imagine what the boardwalk hall organ would feel like in person
i have the deepest respect for the people working on the restoration of this very special piece of history
i can not tell you how excited i am to visit this in person sometime and hopefully hear some wonderful music!

This is probably the best I've ever heard this organ. I figure that considerable work has been done on it to improve its sound quality ever since the old Mercury recording made in the 1950's, "Bach on the Biggest". That recording definitely didn't do much to enhance the sound quality of the organ.

Will, as well as you've done with this, I'm sure that this recording doesn't do the organ justice. I'm pretty sure it has to be heard live to get the full surround sound effect. I'm listening on headphones at home here in the Ozarks, but if I ever get the chance to come to Atlantic City, I definitely plan to drop in and, if possible, hear this big behemoth of an instrument live and in person. PS -- this organ has what I would consider probably the best string section from an organ I've ever heard. If I didn't know any better, I'd think it was synthesized strings.
