Stick with us as John Deming walks you through just how easy it is to install a set of aftermarket slip-on mufflers. For this build, we have chosen a set of Crusher 2.5 Inch Maverick Slip-Ons from Kuryakyn. By replacing just the mufflers and leaving the stock head pipes in place we eliminate the need to re-map the fuel injection or deal with emission related issues. This also simplifies the installation process and still gives us a substantial performance boost.
Can't begin to tell you how helpful this little series (and in particular, this guide) has been for me. My Crusher pipes came with the bike but weren't fitted and I had been dreading it a little as I don't do mechanics & I was concerned about damaging my new bike. Followed your guide closely & all appears to be fine. Many thanks.

Your install video was Much more helpful than the written instructions that come with the Crushers ... My stock pipes were a b*tch to get off though, had to use wd-40 and a rubber mallet. Thanks for your video!
I just bought these today. Can't wait to get them and install and hear them.
I installed these last weekend on my Scout 60 using your video as a guide. The only "confusing" part of the installation was knowing what bolt to use the washer on. I think in the vid you used it on the rear of the bracket. Thanks for making the video.

I bought an Indian Scout recently this is the first thing I did was put on these Crusher pipes it was a great choice. The video does not do these pipe Justice in real life they are the bomb!

Just bought a 2016 Indian Scout and the Maveric Crushers (Love em) but you will need a power commander ect. At startup it struggles, runs lean so now I have an appointment with my Indian dealership to also have it dino tuned.BUY THESE PIPES, there GREAT!

Wish I would have never done that video! I think about that dang noise all the time and really want a Scout now.
On newer scouts, have someone sit in the bike while you remove the back side bolts.The bolts will movedown with the suspension.
Wish they made these for the honda vt1100c . But when you consider the vastly larger number of Indian scouts made compaired to honda i guess it makes sense .

John I'm from Costa Rica I bought a new Indian scout sixty here the law is a problem, I don't like it too loud and I want to ask you if I just put one kuriakyn pipe does it make any problem to the bike?

+Nicholas Burgess Yes I think the Kuryakyn is louder, but I have not measured the actual decibels.
John, will these fit the Scout Sixty as well?

Thanks for the video, very helpful. One question: After installing the Crusher Maverick Slip-Ons, did you have to do anything special to the bike such as re-mapping anything, doing any kind of "tuning" etc. or was it as simple as installing them and being able to ride right after without having to do anything else to the bike? I am new to riding and don't want to run in to any kind of additional costs (since I can't do a lot of things by myself yet). Thanks
You can run the Crushers with no remapping. The bike might take a 10-15 miles to adjust, but you don't need a remap. Just put these bad boys on and enjoy. I can't express how much these pipes changed my opinion of the Scout!

I did install these pipes and holy hell, they are phenomenal sounding!!!! You are 100% right...I DO love these!!!! They make they bike sound SO much meaner and now the sound fits the bike much MUCH better!!! Thanks again for the video and the suggestions/reviews.

2 questions, do these have the cats in them? are the baffles removable?
+Eric Honaker These are pretty much a straight shot form front to back so no cats, and no baffles to really speak of for removal. They sound great as well.

+Rich H Yes these are smaller than the factory exhaust's so passenger pegs should work just fine.

It really wakes up the Scout, and has a really rich note.
Did you get any real world power increase numbers and dB increase?
Real world power increases could be all in my head, but I swear it feel more powerful. As for the dB increase I will say yes very much so! The bike is not only louder, it sounds like a completely different engine.
I want these mufflers for my Harley so bad ! Unfortunately I can't find anyone to take my money and ship them to me . Why you ask ? Well , I live in California ...... Sucks !!

Okie Rider you do realize that changing the pipes doesnt increase the amount of exhaust the engine creates right? Even Californians aren't that dumb 🤔
@@Sig721Tau different exhaust doesn't change the ozone layer Einstein. It largely just changed the noise levels, although it does have some effect on soot emissions. Given the small number of people on bikes, any soot out of a bike is negligible. You'd do more for the atmosphere by banning open BBQ grills.

Im am looking at buying a scout with these already done. Bike only has 2k miles. He hasn't had it tuned tho, does anyone know if addidng these will require a tune? If so what will a tune cost me roughly?

With the pipes on the Scout it is easily one of my favorite cruisers. It has so much power in such a small package, it really is a blast. Enjoy your when you get it I have a feeling you won't be sorry!
