    Great and informative video! I am also no longer a fan of loud pipes. The previous owner of the Scout I now own, drilled the baffles out. It sounds just fine that way to me. I'm gonna change out the breather and may decide then to put some new slip-ons on. Those Indian Shorty's sound perfect to me!

    • @TwoIndians
      @TwoIndians  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they are absolutely fine. A lot more expensive but better for real life riding enjoyment. There is no perfect solution in my mind, I wish someone would come up with an adjustable restriction on the baffles so you could set it the way you like it, then tune accordingly. Thanks for watching!

      @@TwoIndians never heard of Jekill and Hyde or Kesstech exhausts? In Europe they are famous beacause of the fact that you can set it to 2/3 stands (closed/half open/open) It's great for street use!

    Brian, I have probably watched at least 20 TH-cam videos comparing pipes, and yours was absolutely the best! Alot of the people who do em are clearly stacking The deck! Thanks for keeping it fair, and the sound quality was amazing!

    Hi Bwian. I remember when you were a reckless stud. That’s all. 😀 I used to like taking my baffles out from time to time, but then I realized I didn’t need to compensate for anything, and just enjoyed the ride more with some amount of muffling. You are still the man.

    Yes 100% with you on that Mr B.. i got to ride all the bikes at one stage, and took a scout out with crushes pipes, fun for 2 mins then that was enough.. i have the stage 2 freedom pipes. Deep but not annoying just right. Most hear my stereo before my pipes lol.. loud pipes just dont work for long distance riders like ourselves.

    I may be crazy but I like the stock pipes on my Springfield. Not very much but just enough growl when I grab a twist of the throttle. I like your quieter pipes on the bobber. My riding buddy has straight pipes on his M50 and I hate following him… Nice video!

    I totally agree! Loud pipes suck. I have kept my stock pipes on my Indian Scout 60 2022 and I think they are just beautiful. thanks for your always awesome videos. PS I had a can-am Ryker Rally for 3 months and I traded it in for my new Indian because I couldn't stand the continuous engine noise. now I'm a happy camper. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU BOTH AND YOUR FAMILY.

    I have a set of Crushers on my Scout. Neighbors are definitely not fans. Starting it up early in the morning if I ride to work, I have to back it halfway into the garage to warm up so the sound can be contained somewhat. Might change for the shorties but sure to love the racket they make.

    Same issues, changed my pipes out a couple of times but way too loud for enjoyment of the ride, ended up with stock pipes with the back baffle drilled out now it sounds perfect. It doesn't look so bad either with 10" mini apes, it kinda blends in with the bike.

  • @johnleewright345
    @johnleewright345 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had the crushers for a while. It wasn't the volume that got me, but the drone note at highway speeds. I replaced them with the Radical Radius and believe it or not, it made a huge difference. Very loud at idle but quiet on the road.

  • @kennethduffield8684

    I can attest to how loud they are (granted, open pipes will naturally be louder). Cruising without a helmet, or half helmet, nose is tolerable. With a full helmet, the noise will rattle your brain.
    Went on a cruise. I was leading the group, brother was bringing up the back. A few of the hills were pretty steep, so I was on the throttle to keep 65-70mph. Brother was about 100+yrds back, and he said it sounded like I was right next to him. Even when he was up front, he didn't need to use the mirrors to see if I was still following, he could hear me.
    A rider broke down, so I made a U-turn to check up on them. Had to get on it pretty good to get up to speed at 70+mph. The reverberation in the valley let them know I was on my way from a mile away.

    I don't have tintinaites but I certainly don't hear as well as I used to. Undoubtedly a variety of factors which includes loud motorcycles and loud rock-n-roll, not to mention a stint in Vietnam, you can't ask Charly for a cease fire so you can put your ear plugs in, but I don't have the ringing in my ears, I just don't hear as well (Speak up, sonny).

      the Vance and Hines Slash Cuts are my favorite for tone and loudness. Theyre not as loud as the crushers but still give you some meanness.

    When you put these pipes on did you have to do a tune. As far as starting from cold start I keep hearing there is issues with the bike not starting do not having pressure. Have you had any issues with yours since you have had them on. Purchasing a 2022 and want to upgrade from the quiet to this is there isn't an issue

    • @TwoIndians
      @TwoIndians  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure which pipes you’re referring to but for the most part changing the pipes does not require a full tune but you will need to get a flash from the dealer and that comes with the stage 1 pipes. I always suggest getting a tune though because the bike will run so much better. See my other video on getting a remote tune from RVS.

      cambiar los silenciadores deslizantes no dañará el motor, sin embargo, si también cambia la admisión, definitivamente debe volver a flashear la ecu con el flash de actualización de fábrica o ajustar la bicicleta, que es lo que hicimos.

      If one was done inside and one was done outside you’d have a point but the A/B comparison was in similar conditions so it doesn’t bother me as much. If I had done it in an open field some one would complain I didn’t do it in an anechoic chamber. Is what it is.
