What are your favorite ways to fish windy days?
hi, I enjoyed the video. are you able to provide more detail perhaps some graphics like arrows showing current seams on the lake in relation to wind?
Definitely something I have learned to pay a lot more attention to. Can make a huge difference in the day for sure. Just wish it wasn’t 1,000 mph in the spring. Lol
It is certainly quite blustery out there at times. But when I can find that little hidey-hole the bass are setup in, it can be a great day!
I usually hate fishing in the wind. Hard to get bites and everything gets tangled up. These tips will help and give me a lot to think about.
Thanks so much for watching!
Great video LowBrow. Wind can be a pain for the fisherman but great fishing. Spinnerbait bite is a blast. Have a great season. Fish on!
Thanks so much! I'm happy you liked it!
There’s a lot that comes into play fishing in the wind. Accuracy is important knowing how to control your lure no matter the wind directions avoiding the bow in your line to keep tension as your lure hits the water avoiding any mistakes on losing a fish.
Thanks for watching!
Top water torpedo,is my favorite for when it's windy,or calm this month.if I am using current seams I throw a jig and stroke it w a action trailer, or a halgramite and let it drift on the edges of the current .burning a crank over rip rap,or snapping a jerkbait has been real productive. Thx Lowbrow 💥🎣💪.
Those are great techniques for sure!
Not the most experienced Bass Angler yet and have been trying to get used to baitcasting reels so, wind is truly a four-letter word for me in that respect!! Try to throw something heavy so wind doesn't add to me birdnesting!! Rather throw a drop shot or Carolina Rig on a spinning reel in the wind!! Thanks for all the info!!
Casting a light lure into the wind can be a recipe for disaster on a baitcasting reel, no matter how long you've been doing it!
Last week I got a 20 inch, almost 5lb largemouth on a windy day with a ned rig. The reservoir is rectangular so it has corners that act like points.
That is awesome! Very nice fish!
Thanks for the tips buddy! My go to in the wind is a spinnerbait. Hope you have a great day!
A spinnerbait works so good in the wind!
I don't mind the wind so much. It's always windy here. A spinnerbait is my go to.
Spinnerbaits are a great choice!
It has been really windy here. I've had to go with heavier lures just to keep my line from blowing all over the place.
The wind can sure play havoc with your line!
Good tip to think about . Most of the time when we are on the water and it's windy we try to get totally away from the wind. After watching this it seems a better strategy to get just to the edge of a natural wind break and cast out into the wind/current . We'll keep this in mind on the water and on the bank.
Awesome! I'm happy you found it useful!
I'll burn a bigger squarebill along the edge of current. If I can find a grass line or weed edge or something then I can really get some nice bites!
Great techniques for sure!
If it's really windy I usually just stay home. I'll try these tips next time I go. Thanks for another great video LB!
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
I normally just fish a swimbait on an under spin
Nothing wrong with that at all!
Lowbrow, what kind of boat/kayak are you using in these videos?
I have a Pelican Bass Raider 10e. I really like my little boat!
@LowBrowFishing I like it too, nice layout for sitting or standing. Jon boats seem to have a foot well only and seating benches that are tripping hazards .I like the open middle ,and it leaves room for gear ,rods and filming eqipment. Go Lowbrow 💥 🎣 🤙.
lol that aint wind, try living in the high desert of So Cal....blowing 40 right now. Good tips though.
Thanks for watching!
Little ball head jigs don't ever do so good in the wind. I just try to keep it at my back and hope for the best
Casting with the wind instead of into it is a good choice!
what does it mean when there’s a windy day there’s spots on the water out in the open that are full of riffles and even wavy and then there are adjacent spots that are still smooth is there a depth effect and can you use that to estimate depth if that’s the case?
That's a great question and I've wondered about it myself. I always thought it might have to do with water depth or maybe a submerged creek channel, but I really don't know.
Weightless hairjig with a drop shot
Great choices!
