Lucky and Meyer were very unique in the world of gangsters. Mobsters stabbed each other in the back all the time. Lucky and Meyer were true friends and looked out for each other.
They just stabbed everyone else the worked with in the back lol

Rosetti is the only guy Luciano never jumped up at after being insulted.
Luciano was barely in his 20's at this point so if he jumped up he would get beat down or killed.
He even stood up to joe the boss but not gyp.

When Rothstein smiles at your attempt at an insult, you never know if he's smiling cos he thinks it's funny, or smiling cos he knows you've just screwed yourself. Most likely, though, it's both.

And people that study the Italian mob back in that day and the stuff that I read about it the way he played Luciano was pretty much close to the vest.

Luciano and lansky are like an old married couple. Lucianos like the quick to temper tough guy husband and Lanskys the cool cunning and collected wife who works strategy.😂😂

ExtraRare The ending was rushed. I don’t think the network gave the show runners enough time to fully complete Nucky’s story arc. Even with time a jump how could Tommy Darmody be that old when he was under 10 years old in prior seasons.

Joe Masseria was played brilliantly. He became my favorite character because of how great that actor was.

Really surprised they never had Frank Costello in this show. He was heavily involved with Lansky and Luciano in the early days.
savage642 Frank never got his hands dirty. Benny Siegel, Vito Genoese, Albert Anastasia and Joe Adonis killed Masseria in real life. Siegel and a few of his guys killed Maranzano for Lucky. I think the character you mentioned maybe a combination of a few characters

Charles Luciano in real life seems like the most opportune to soak game from the best in his environment. Smart of him to split the responsibilities of decision between board members.
Luciano is one of my top 3 most favorite characters in the show along side Al Capone and Mickey Doyle.
Especially the actor for luciano cool guy
Nobody ever talks about Nucky Thompson being a real person controlling Atlantic City. Boardwalk never gets love over Sopranos even though its based off of real people.

I think Board Walk Empire is the best gangster series HBO or anyone else has done. It is much underrated in my view I've watched it four time.
Ooooooohhhhhh and I also noticed at 13:43 when the deal was stuck with Joe Masseria, Lucky, and Meyer there were no handshakes... Business Back Then... I'm guessing that's a Bad Omen.

Meyer was a bigger gangster in his time that he was portrayed to be in this series. Good clip
This show is more accurate to history than I originally thought, before I read more on the period myself. Obviously Nucky is highly fictionalized but the references to Bill Lovett, Pegleg Lonergan, Brooklyn, Frank Uale's operations etc are all accurate little references. The only error among all this is that Rothstein got out of bootlegging very early but it's a pretty minor detail considering it fits the script, much like Nucky's dramatization and the fictional Rosetti
They should have made a series about those 2

this show has like the best cast ever to play every single roll this is the real masterpiece of all the crime drama tv series of this century even better than Breaking bad , The Wire , Sons Of Anarchy , & Power!!!!!!
Notice how lucky is a very strong personality very into his work , yet Meyer was able to ease that aggression and help lucky see a bigger light and picture not to mention Meyer was a great speaker , hard to hurt the guy when he knows his words and his stuff
All of the acting in this series is superb...
One of the great HBO bromances. Right up there with Titus and Lucius from Rome.

@DeltroxTv Tbh, it's part luck, part genetics/preference. The reason why I started smoking pipe is that it's genuinly only form of smoking I can enjoy(it's smoked like cigars).
I do not know if "ordinary" ciggies have something that disagrees with me: paper, glue, tar? I just felt sick everytime I tried. Pipe-tobacco is somewhat less processed but has more nicotine, so I can get that relaxing feeling without nausea.
