This was one of the most gratifying fight scenes I've seen in a long time. Even more gratifying than the John Wick fight scenes. This guy is a suburbanite veteran, ex special forces in dormancy.
After such hits he'd be in no state to fight: he is no superman or whatsoever. All he could possibly hope for -- laying "final" hits at beginning of the fighting. Taking them by surprise. So realistic outcome would be failing miserably, get beatten to pulp so girl escaped meanwhile. There is no comebacks for old men: rusty skills or not -- biology is bitter bitch.
@@4greaterevil it's not who's in the fight, it's the fight in the person, it's a hard call though, being out numbered is definitely going to test anyone...
Pretty realistic reaction from the five guys after the initial dust up. The injury assessment where they're just in complete disbelief at how messed up they got, but the adrenaline keeping them from really feeling anything right away.
What makes this scene so good, in my opinion, is that the action is so realistic that you cringe at some of the injuries like you were there in person.
I love how realistic this all seems, if you tried to fight like 6 guys in a bus you may possibly "win" in a 1% of cases but you are still going to be fucked up at the end of it all.
I love how they throw them out the window and they’re all just doing damage assessment. My nose is broken, oh shit I think I’m missing a bunch of teeth, then he limps back in and finishes them off. I think it’s funny that the whole time he was outside the bus somebody could’ve grabbed the gun and pick up a few bullets but they were so distracted by the pain
Really underappreciated detail about this scene is that he fights better and better with every passing moment, as if his experience and reflexes come back to him. That also is reflected by the fact that the whole fight has no BGM before he gets back in the bus
Hardcore Henry should be on TH-cam for free. Not high HD quality but good enough. You either love it (I do) or puke your guts up. The GoPros as cameras were really innovative.
This scene somehow managed to be brutal, visceral, unsettling, yet also oddly hilarious at the same time. The guy asking about his broken teeth, and Hutch holding his finger up to the bus driver when she asks if he's okay always send me.
Yes oddly hilarious is quite accurate indeed.Honestly I wasn’t sure they were being serious at various points throughout and even checked the movie rating.
I remember when my friends and I saw this movie we were disappointed when Hutch got thrown out of the bus thinking he lost and how it ended so anti-climacticly but when he limped and reboarded the bus we legit threw popcorn screaming. So hype
@@unearthly_sigma1289 Adding that Saul was also in bad shape, so the fact that he's making his comeback meaning he's willing to fight to the death. It's that kind of insanity that made them shitting their pants.
I love the fact he actually smiles when they think "The old mans crazy"-then he drops them into a world of pain and probably months in hospital... Also, the "Stop Requested" sign flashing over and over when he's using the cord to strangle the thug.
I love how the fight scene actually shows him taking hits as well instead of making it seem so flawless. It makes it seem more realistic but in reality I don’t think anyone could survive the amount of abuse he went through in that movie lmao
I know a guy who was hitchhiking and survived being stabbed 50 times. (to be fair, his friend didn't make it). They got in a car with 4 guys in it who stabbed them. Some human bodies can take a lot more punishment than you would think.
There are so many parts of this I absolutely adore. One being at 4:00, the guy watching this guy pull a knife out of his side and you can see that 'oh god he's going to stab me.. UP I GET'. That and what everyone else is saying, the entire fight him getting just destroyed but loving every second of it.
I love how the girl politely says "Thank you", because she knows that he rescued her. Even though he appeared to be a "monster", she felt saved by him.
"This girl's gonna get home safe tonight. I hope these assholes like hospital food." MAN what a powerful line, with what I would say is perfect delivery! Kudos to the actor, the director, and the writing staff!
I absolutely adore that the music only kicks in and the fight gets genuinely more skilled and deadly when Hutch can go all out when the girl leaves. So good.

This was probably my favorite scene tbh. I love how its more realistic than most fight scenes in movies. Sure you can have training/experience in messing someone up BAD but you're more than likely not going to walk away without some battle scars
I've never liked movies where the action hero wipes out half a town without messing up his hairdo. Steven seagal, Jason statham, Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee to mention a few are on my black list of action heroes.
The first lesson you are taught in any serious, practical hand-to-hand combat training is that, "You WILL be hit and you WILL be hurt." It's why people say that 90% of fighting is mental: your morale/will to fight will usually break long before you're physically unable to continue fighting. That's the real dividing line between people who are trained to fight and people who aren't: the ability to push through the pain, keep on your feet, and keep fighting until the other guy runs away or won't get back up.
This scene is absolutely amazing. You can see him working the rust off of his skills in this one scene. He takes hits, they hurt, but he keeps getting back up and his moves become more and more lethal until he finishes the fight.
I think that's not the point. At first it's just a fist fight. Then the young guy pulls out a knife, so it makes sense for him to stop messing around. Later the young guy wants to shoot him, so he almost kills him in return. It's kind of ironic that the young guy mocks him at first, but he acts the most cowardly from all of them. Maybe that's the point.
I feel that Hutch took that first punch not because he wasn't expecting it, but because he wanted to feel what a real punch was like again. Not only would this trigger his adrenaline and awareness of the situation, but it would also bring out some fun and reality for him.
thats part of the rawness of this scene imo - as messed up as it is, sometimes that the only way you realize you exist... kinda like pinching yourself to tell your not dreaming... sometimes someone needs more than a ... "pinch"
@M The thing is, pomegrantes are good for you, and yet you complain about their taste. Well grapefruits taste awful, and I don't see you saying a thing about that. Glorified giant oranges is what they are, so don't quit your dayjob my friend, money isn't everything.
As a healthcare professional, I like how Hutch gives the guy a tracheostomy at the end of the scene after smashing his trachea with the metal pole. Shows class and real concern for humanity even through all the violence. Good show Bob Odenkirk.
I was thinking that too. Wasn't he a ranger or marine corps commando type in the movie? Those guys surely learn to do stuff like that in training. I read somewhere that special ops medics even can do some actual surgery in the field. Using knifes like that presumably.
The best part about this scene is that this man is so lethal and bored with his life that he is savoring every second, every move, every struggle, and every pain he inflicted and received. This the kind of man punks and low lives don't want to run into when they are causing havoc.
I love how this scene goes from them fighting because they are violent punks to them fighting because they are seriously concerned for their well being and trying to survive, i love how it has a turn and counter turn.

@@crazypeopleoutthere Because those are all "olden day" action heroes. Most modern day fight scenes have the hero getting messed up at least a bit.

@@awesomesauce2000 He saved his life after the guy tried to shoot him.
@@ArchitectGG That's not wholesome bro. He's the reason the guy couldn't breathe in the first place...
@@awesomesauce2000 No, the reason the guy couldn't breathe in the first place was because of the guy.
@@ArchitectGG So he punched himself in the throat? Didn't see that part
The best part about this scene is that this man is so lethal and bored with his life that he is savoring every second, every move, every struggle, and every pain he inflicted and received. This the kind of man punks and low lives don't want to run into when they are causing havoc.
I love that he got stabbed. That never hurt so good. Like scratching an itch.
And that if cops stopped him he could get himself off cause he’s the best lawyer
Cause, he has nothing to lose.
hav-OCK
I love how this scene goes from them fighting because they are violent punks to them fighting because they are seriously concerned for their well being and trying to survive, i love how it has a turn and counter turn.
They could've just ran...
Especially the dude that went for the gun being at the door.
Bullies need to be taught their weaknesses and vulnerabilities and gangs don't come up on that lesson until its too late. They usually die learning it. Funny how he does a tracheostomy and saves the last ones life. Now that was godly.
@@lesliegums5119Bullies by nature are predators only looking for targets who are weaker than themselves if you challenge one prepare to get the sh*t kicked out of you by multiple guys especially if you're unarmed
He is jimmy Salamanca
If a guy me and the boys got our ass handed, who we throw out the window, walked back in... now it's fight to the death LOL.
This is saul with a second health bar😂

The Bus Fight in 4K HDR:
Best fight scene in a film ever. No stupid high kicks and heros unscathed. He took a beating and took more. Brilliant.
Agreed
Makes sense, he is too old and the space is too cramped for fast moments. Not to mention his opponents aren't exactly UFC fighters, they are thugs.
Yes, one of the most realistic versus multi-opponents fights in a movie!
The fight scene in 'Atomic Blonde ' was also pretty good 👍
@@GreatPolishWingedHussarsnot very realistic at all. If you're fighting a bunch of people they're going to attack the same time not wait until their turn
absolutely love how he starts smiling when they start harassing the woman. finally he has an excuse to let loose and absolutely destroy them
I don’t think harassing a women for 10 seconds is a fair trade for death
@@spincego3946 But it’s a fair trade for beating some ass
@@spincego3946 True. Could kill for less.

watch out everyone, we have a 14 year old badass here.
@@JonJon-vg2nv well he has an anime pfp so what did you expect
Man, this film was a surprising breath of fresh air. Never thought I could take Bob Odenkirk seriously as an action star.....I was wrong.
I never thought Bruce Willis or Liam Neeson could be an action star!
Honestly, it was like a shot of adrenalin
imagine this was just a side cut to what Saul is doing when the scene moves away from heisenburg
I love how he actually takes some damage on his part instead of just destroying all of them in 30 seconds
But what was the sense of that why did he beat them just cause they we're drunk and crashed car they took the bus like whyyy did he fight 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@namanchaudhry0001 read the description maybe?

I'd expect this in a jackie chan film the fight is stupid, maybe a kid might get exited about a silly fight scenes
@@paulieg2492 bad bait
His expression when he boards the bus again after crashing out the window cracks me up, like he’s so pleased to see old friends again !
And then the expression of terror on their faces...
The fear in their eyes as he bends down to start tearing off a fucking seat belt is 👩🍳🤌
Haha.
Right, but they don't seem to share his excitement
I love how realistic this fight feels because they pause for a moment and we see the bad guys panic over the wounds they got even if in other movies it would be treated like just a scratch
Excellent point, action movies should take notes from this scene
How is this in any way realistic lmao
@@pandadoublexl It's not "Realistic," it's grounded in reality, it has crazy unrealistic feats performed by multiple characters, like somebody winning a 1v4 (Which, unless you have a loaded gun, will NEVER happen.) But the action itself isn't necessary unrealistic, the hits, the injuries, etc. isn't inherently unrealistic in the sense that it's close to how a person would act if this exact fight played out this way in real life.
@@WestGarbage6mmm I would say a 1v4 is still pretty realistic especially when witnessing it. Was leaving a party one time and 4 dudes were pressing this one guy, from what I heard he was a boxer. So when the dudes straight went for attack he hooked the first guy and literally split open his cheek(it was a gnarly cut) and then straight jabbed the second dude and broke his nose. Both guys guys instantly fell grabbing their face and the third and fourth guys tired grabbing him but he pretty much slipped out of it and fed the third guy a one two three combo which had him out. Snoring on the ground and everything. The fourth guy pretty much backed off the moment the boxer dude squared up against him. It was pretty funny
He literally takes a 3 inch blade to the side of his torso, and pulls it out. I fail to see the realism.

I like that little stop requested bit, as if it's a bell ringing the end of a fight
