I really hope Google continues to push developers to bring and optimize their apps for Android tablets because we are basically at the point where the Galaxy Tab is a serious competitor to the iPad.
@@ellisz5972You are correct. The limitations of iPadOS is the biggest issue with the iPad. I just wish Apple would give us the option to dual boot into macOS. While the battery life may take a hit, I would be okay with it.
I am still skeptical/confused why no TH-cam reviewer actually does a real comparison of actual pro work, like audio/video production. My guess is nothing can touch the power of the M2 chip.
I had an ipad pro since 2020. Couldnt be happier with my change to the tab s9 ultra. Its brilliant and fits well with my new s23 ultra. Quick share works even better than air drop
@@anisnisouxx1993, the S9 ultra is better than the S9+. I have personally seen them in person and I'm more impressed with the Ultra than the Plus. The plus has a yellowish screen, that's the reason why Samsung is not putting them out for display in stores. I got my Ultra for $1,079 with tax included plus a free smart cover keyboard. However, if you have small hands, go for S9 or S9+.
Your reviews are a breath of fresh air in tech world... it's so much more informative to know about day to day experiences of using a device from a college student rather than a professional reviewer. One thing which I would like for videos to mention is that S pen does not need to be charged to be used. My brother and I have tablets from S7 series and we both have turned Air Actions off and only use the pen slot on the side of our covers for storage. You never need to charge it to use it as a stylus while same cannot be said about Apple Pencil.
This is just feeding apple vs samsung 😂 a lot of her videos are that clickbait. Samsung better than apple bla bla bla bla. Like samsung is paying her… 😂
probably because Ipad is actually more useful and powerful for profesional users, they say the gap is closer than ever to the macbook experience@@iAmNothingness
@@iAmNothingness Maybe because the video is comparing iPad and tab which are competitors and viewers are trying to decide between apple vs Samsung 😲😲😲😲😲😲 ik unbelievable!
She still wastes out time like professional reviewers do by reading the marketing crap verbatim everyone actually interested can read for themselves on a website in under 1 min Anything to add more total time to the video I guess. I really like prefer normal people ghetto reviews than this to be honest. This either needs timestamps to skip the monotone reading of the sale points. This is clickbait merchant stuff but I dont hate that people are smart to algorithms as it attracts the fan kids from each brand and gets more engagement with folks that argue with eachother about features and their opinions on the matter. Comments are often more interesting than content of the folks peddling this tech
The audio record + notes feature in samsung notes, especially for students, is the best thing about samsung notes. It allows you to hear the audio taken at the time of your note. The features you talk about, making stickers and drawing shapes, are flashy but never used.
@monukumar-yv8fw they both work well for making notebooks. I would match the tablet type with the phone/laptop(apple or Samsung) you have. There are sync benefits that make note-taking and studying easier.
I do not own a samsung or an apple tablet but I always watch your tech reviews. Highly informative and helps me in giving advices to my workmates and friends. Great review btw :)
It’s worth mentioning that the s8 ultra is still a thing. I have been using that for work (outlook, slack, zoom) with a dock, keyboard, mouse, and display and it pretty much does everything the tab s9 does, and is just as awesome. If you can live without the slightly faster cpu, and with a flat 120hz display instead of adaptive refresh, you can probably save a few hundred dollars on the previous model.
I’d add… I naively went out and bought a 1TB M1 iPad Pro with 16gb of ram when apple launched that, because I had this somewhat reasonable expectation that putting that kind of power in the iPad meant that apple was planning to update iPad OS to make use of that power. Three years later and iPadOS limitations means that pretty much, except for synthetic benchmarks, you can’t even really stress the A12x from the previous iPad Pro. The iPad hardware will trounce these snapdragon SOCs in synthetics, but my Tab S8 Ultra is so much more functional than the iPad Pro is due to android/dex maximizing the potential while iPadOS gets in the way.
@@jmcminn1076want to mention that a promo came and still partially here where you can upgrade at Samsung and get the s9 ultra for 4 bucks when you trade in your s8 ultra and get another Samsung device like the fold or s23. I already wanted to upgrade my s22 ultra to the 23 so I traded both in and got the s9 ultra for an additional 4 dollars because of the bundle discount. Got additional accessories like the buds and watches sold them and made roughly 80 bucks for selling both galaxy buds and both watches. So I upgraded from s8 ultra 256gb and s22 ultra 256gb to s9 ultra 512gb and s23 ultra 512gb and profited $80. Amazing trade in deal.
I honestly feel Android has the potential to be the ONLY computing solution for most users. Google really needs to push developers to come up with Android apps that are feature rich and optimised for all screen form factors. There are many proprietary Windows only softwares and their developers must be encouraged to come up with Android apps that work well on tablets.
@@footballfunnyashell that is such an insane cult opinion. have you ever tried an android device? my 5 year old midrange xiaomi have more features, is faster to navigate, cleaner menus and better at doing work on than my new iphone 13. not because of the hardware. the hardware havent been an issue since 2015 in how the phone feels to use. however the iOS have such glaring design issues with such a lack of features. i thought apple would have some edge in some areas, untill i got the iphone and realised theres not. and that is after spending hours and hours on searching up every shortcut and navigation method. nearly every basic function or navigation method have a slower shortcut, have 1-3 extra steppes or doesnt exist. and that is compared to my 5 year old android
That being said, google can only go so far with that when most consumers don't realize that there's a difference between Samsung One UI vs. Android. App developers can optimize as much as want, working perfectly on a Pixel Tablet, but work poory on Samsung, Amazon, and LG tablets. For some reason, every manufacturer has the need to have their own OS. Sure Samsung One OS is based off android but it's actually very different that that of pure android that you'd see on the Pixel phones and tablets.
@@footballfunnyashell as an ipad fan, I'm calling shenanigans. A lot of features the ipad had/has, is either already been done by android/windows phones/tablets at some point. Apple generally just takes those ideas and later releases them in "the apple" way. Dynamic Island for instance was done by LG about a decade ago. It took apple until the iphone 12 for their camera system to catch up to the Pixel 3. Night Sight was android first.
As a professional illustrator, ClipStudio is still excellent on my Galaxy Tab S7+. Will probably upgrade to S9 Ultra in the future for the bigger screen
My S7, plus was by far the worst device I have ever used. This cannot be argued and is irrefutable. That’s about the only thing Samsung has going for them, is the one in 100,000 people that do professional art and have no other option than to go with Samsung. Sure for you I could see you enjoying the tablet but for 99% of people it is an absolutely horrible tablet just as with any android tablet regardless of manufacture.
geez that thing is massive. I bought the s8+ last year because the ultra was just too big for me to use comfortably (typing and whatnot) the s8+ is easily the best tablet I've ever owned and the experience is top notch.. this thing looks even better.
Hand on heart I can honestly say buying a Samsung tablet has been one of my best tech buying decisions ever. It's been flawless, regularly updated and the S pen is awesome. Good lock opens up a great new world of customisation. Awesome review Ella.
Great comparison. Most people think everything Apple is superior. I find Samsung and Android far more adaptable to my needs. And Good Lock makes it even more usable.
Good lock is the best part of Samsung devices in my opinion! Infinite customization and functionality! I don't know how to use my phone without one hand operation+ anymore, It's a game changer!
No, most people don’t think everything apple is superior. That’s your bias. They recognise the different strengths and weaknesses of a product and find that apple is far more efficient and useful for their needs, just like you with Samsung. For example, it’s just a fact that apps are still better optimised for the iPad. It’s a fact that the arm chip is more powerful. Good lock looks great. And Samsung has many advantages. I’m not sure why android users need to insult and deride apple users all the time.
@@바보Queenit has Superior Alternatives to Procreate like Sketchbook, and Krita and so on. And most of the Apps are FOSS which means they're Free and Open Source.
It's wild that you need to buy the apple pencil separately for the iPad Pro 256GB. Like you are purchasing "premium" tablet and you don't even get a stylus with it. Samsung comes with the Pen, a Keyboard Case and even Galaxy Buds for that their tablet. Talk about a complete experience. L Apple really
Where did you see the s9 ultra coming with galaxy buds and the keyboard folio? I’ve been shopping around for the s9 ultra and Samsung offers discounts for the Galaxy buds or a keyboard folio if you buy the tab but you still have to buy them separately. Where did you see them sold as a package? I’d be super interested!
The only downside, though, is especially, if you were a college student, you cannot use an iPad or tablet as a total replacement of a laptop or computer. There are various tasks and things that iPad does not support same with tablet. For instance, some of the software I had to download while I’m taking tests so that the professor could watch us online was not supported on any tablets or iPads. So while I think they are definitely getting there, they still have quite some time until tablets can totally replace laptops
On point. I wanted to go with Tab and iPad instead of my laptop but I realised that some software app in my laptop is not available and not supported by Tab and iPad
Just switched to the S9 ultra from the iPad pro M2 and I must say the experience on this tablet is awesome‼️ Makes me not wanna use the iPad after using this for 2 weeks 😂 Battery charges quicker and lasts longer too! Good job Samsung!
@@KingKikikoithere’s always comments like this on every Samsung video release saying how they switched and how much better it is. Been happening for years. They are almost like copied and pasted - It’s so fake and tiresome. The iPad is still the best tablet as long as the apps are better optimised really. That may change, but it hasn’t yet.
@KingKikikoi Interesting. I have the book PC, tab S7+, 8 ultra, and S22 Ultra, Watch 5. All still going strong. Only thing that's a bit annoying is the battery on my phone.
That means comparing two devices! Informative and clear stuff. Even if it's a long video and that's exactly the idea to find out as much as possible if it helps you or not! Respect to the creator for this video
Recently my iPad Pro turned off for no reason and I was thinking of getting a new one, but I kept hearing about this tablet and wasn't sure which one to get. I saw so many good things about Samsung and I might be the first in my family to get a Samsung device 😅 . I'm really thinking on getting this now! Thanks!!
really amazing comparison!! You covered so many points, expanding each one in a non techie way. i think the samsung tablet has a lot of benefits but the lack of developers supporting it for creative apps will always hold it back.
Very good comparison! 👏👏 I’ve switched this week from a M1 ipad pro 12’9”, to the Samsung Galaxy tab s9 ultra, and I think that Samsung is overtaken apple in versatility, hardware and design. For me, the best advantage of the samsung tablet, apart of all you told in your video, is the possibility to use several stylus from different brands. I’m currently using the official Lamy Al-Star Stylus, and it’s amazing. Apart you have more options: the mini stylus from the s23 ultra, any stylus from a wacom tablet, or staedtler stylus. I’m professional illustrator, and the size and screen quality it’s another advantage. I’m using Clip Studio Paint, and in my iPad pro I haven’t enough room for all windows. On the samsung tablet, the 16:9 format, allows to accomodate in both sides all the tools I need, and I have more canvas visibility than iPad. It’s amazing. Apart of the operating system, android it’s more versatile in file management, more like a standard operating system, you can move folders, files, all… without restrictions… iPad OS it’s a headcache sometimes with its limitations, I’m more comfortable in android in this sense, I prefer android, it makes my work easier.
You are absolutely nuts to switch to such a horrible device, but if you are a professional illustrator and you need super specific use cases, then the tab S9 ultra would be the only solution you have not a good solution like Apple would be able to afford, but the only usable one. You are saying they overtook them in versatility hardware and design - this is absolutely false. iPad Pro hardware is light years ahead of Samsung in terms of tablets, not an argument. Sure the Samsung has a better screen, but videos look better on my iPad Pro anyways (more optimized, my iPad Pro TH-cam video looks better than my s7+), so that point is kind of irrelevant, then you can say oh well that nicer screen would atleast look good/better in gaming, which is also irrelevant, because gaming on a Samsung tablet is absolutely unacceptable. And a complete disgrace to the Samsung legacy/android legacy. Sure you can play games like candy crush, and other silly little games like that perfectly fine on the S9 ultra but that’s about it. Any AAA game will be completely unplayable not optimized and a horrible experience if you like playing 60% as good as your potential and getting held back by lack of optimization, at like 480p resolution. Sure they might win and versatility, but I disagree on that point as well, because Samsung might be more versatile for very few people like you who have very specific use cases, but overall the iPad Pro is much more versatile, because it can do MORE (play games/not crash 24/7/not be buggy constantly/better app experience) With the 14.6 inch screen I think the design is better than the iPad for sure so I will give you that but that’s about it. What you said sounds correct 100% on paper, but somebody who has used all of these devices at the same time, extensively, for 16 hours a day every day for years, I will say that you’re wrong, but this is coming from an expert on the topic. For you, you made the best decision but for 99% of people they would be way way way way way better off with an iPad Pro, iPad Pro is better in 99% of situations.
@@ZxAMobileFor a self-proclaimed "expert in the topic," you sure sound like you're spewing a bunch of nonsense. You can't say the Samsung tab has a better display, then refute that with your opinion that the iPad looks better. That's not how things work. Gaming performance should be better on the tab s9 ultra than the s23 ultra so it should be more than capable in gaming performance. I imagine emulators would be incredible on a device like this. You again give the Samsung tab the win in versatility, but refute it with your opinion. Android is, by default, more versatile than any apple os. You can do what you want, how you want, without the os stopping you every time you want to do it. IPads can barely do more than an iPhone, and that isn't saying much at all. Android has many ways to share files between any device (not just air drop to other Apple devices), there's a normal file system that can be accessed by a pc with a usb c cable, you can download apps that aren't on the play store, you can customize and modify just about any aspect of the os to fit your needs, and the list goes on. I think you're confused, because people buy an ipad for very specific use cases, not the other way around. You buy an android tab if you want versatility and options.
@@ZxAMobileyou're just a fanboy lol. Apple is known for being restrictive with their OS and Tab S9 is only good for specific uses? Android is lightyears ahead in features and versatility compared to Apple's any OS, just when did iPhones got their widgets? Lmao. Also gaming, Tab S9 is a flagship, it can play any games in the playstore including Genshin, and that's not even an advantage for iPad. Tab S9 Ultra just simply beats flagship iPad in overall usability. You just can't accept it. 99% of iPad users agree, you're 1 of the 1% whose crying.
Hi i want an advice i never owned a tablet before and I am confused whether i should buy an ipad or S9 ultra. My needs are: Basic video editing, animation and other creative things like 3D sculpting Ms office Notes taking and other basic things I dont want to buy an apple because then it forces us to live in an apple ecosystem but apple also has good apps. What should I do?
Thank you for your outstanding review Ella! Your review flowed beautifully and provided all the information I needed. It's clear that you put a lot of effort into this, and it's hands down the best tech product review I've come across. Keep up the fantastic work 🙌
As far as Photoshop/Photo Editing goes, one of the GREATEST features of my Tab S8 Ultra that no one talks about is the 'Second Screen' feature. SuperDisplay a $10 app works really great. The Tab S8 Ultra has basically replaced my Wacom Cintiq as my main Photoshop editing device. It's higher resolution, wireless, lighter, portable, and the S-Pen might be even better... Samsung's built-in 'Second Screen' works OK, but it used to work much better than it does now, I don't know what happened, but hopefully they will update it to work as good as SuperDisplay does. Plus, your files stay resident on your workstation and you don't have to copy files back and forth. I find that SuperDisplay works exactly the same wired or over WiFi. If there's a difference, I don't see any. As I mentioned, it's SO much better than Samsung's Second Screen. It's pretty crazy to me that Samsung definitely knows how much of a superior product SuperDisplay is and they could easily license the technology (like they do Wacom's EMR) or even purchase the company without even batting an eye, instead they ship a vastly inferior piece of software... Plus, the device is awesome all on its own... Literally blown away by how great it is! The S-Pen is fantastic and FREE in the box. You don't need to add a paper-like screen protector ($40) in addition to the $130 you'll pay extra for the Apple Pencil... I'm a 30+ year Professional Graphic Artist. When some say that there aren't Professional Visual Arts apps on android it's just really incorrect, because I use them everyday. Autodesk Sketchbook, Infinite Painter, Concepts, Krita are just a few of the apps available on the Google Play store... There are many more... Are there a few apps available on iPad that aren't on the Play store? Yes, of course, but a good carpenter never blames his tools, and with expertise and talent you can do anything and everything on android apps that you can do on iOS apps - NO DOUBT. If you're already entrenched in the Apple 'eco-system'... Then pay the extra $500 to $1500... Unfortunately, Samsung's trade-in's aren't great this year... Two years ago I got the 8GB RAM/256GB SSD Tab S7 Plus in Mystic Navy it was $356 from Samsung with a Tab S4 Trade-In I got off ebay for $175, they gave me $400 trade-in credit, so my total cost from Samsung for the Tab S7 Plus was $531. I had zero intention of upgrading. Samsung then offered me more than I paid for the S7+ in trade, for a 16GB/512GB Ultra. They also gave me $200 credit towards accesories. It was kinda of a no-brainer, plus the 4-year OS updates and 5-years of security updates for $517.59. I absolutely love the Ultra, and have no intention of upgrading, especially since Samsung will only give me $650 for the trade-in of my Ultra and the total cost will be $750 for the 16GB/1TB version... Maybe next time, Sammy...
The s-pen uses wacoms pen tech, only difference is that samsungs have less space between the top layer of the screen and the emr layer, thus they are a tad bit more accurate
I really love your speaking style. You talk relatively fast, but your speech is so fluid that it’s very easy to follow. I’m currently running the M1 iPad, but I’ve always felt that it’s a bit shy on screen real estate. While I do wish the tab included 5G, the S9 is still on my wish list. As an Apple products consumer since 1984, I’ve grown long in the tooth with iOS and its lethargic tech advances. I’ve been threatening to switch camps for the last three years and the S9 Tab may well be my first Android product. Great review and I enjoy subscribing to your channel. ✌️
A concern I would have about switching is the longevity of it. I've had two iPads. One that I got in 2014 and the other that I just bought last year. My 2014 iPad still works but the battery dies too fast and it works somewhat slow (but I think that's mostly bc many of the apps are no longer supported). iPads are pricey but they last a long time.
@@thetop6340 Yeah, I think for people whose budget isn't that great, I get them getting a device within what they're comfortable with. However, for anyone who can afford it, I would always say Apple is the way to go for tablets and laptops. Definitely more bank for your buck as far as longevity goes.
I think you don't know what are you talking, my ipads that i have from 2013 and 2016 are basically useless. And Android Tablet still can play youtube, also batteries are cheap.
@@d1namis Did you buy your iPads refurbished? I've had a total of 2. Like I said, I just replaced my mini from about a decade ago and that mini still works. Did you do something to your iPads to cause both of them to be considered useless??? Only reason my iPad mini isn't working so well is bc it can't handle the new apps. I have family members who have had iPads for over a decade and all of them have replaced their iPads only once. And it's for the same reason: old software doesn't support new apps. So, clearly your 2 iPads are an exception to the rule or you didn't take care of them OR you bought them refurbished.
First video I've seen from you. It blows my mind how every other reviewer doesn't talk about the display and the fact that you made your review about this tablet's display and how it stacks up against the iPad Pro's for content viewing is honestly such a breath of fresh air. You got yourself a new subscriber.
As an apple fan, this galaxy tablet left the iPad a mile away. However, the reason why I think apple won’t push the iPad like that, it’s bc of the Macs. If the iPad it’s too close to the Macs, people would just get an iPad and forget about the Mac lineup. MacBook Air wouldn’t sell as much.
I mean performance, app support and gaming wise the even the iPad m1 is miles ahead. But if you want to just watch videos and play a few light games go for the S9 “Ultra”
You're seriously costing me a lot of money! I watch your videos and then I want to go buy whatever you're reviewing! The Tab S9 looks amazing and you did an amazing job show casing it! Good work!
For digital art clip studio paint is probably the best app on android. Digital artists choose iPad because of procreate, but with a tablet this size and clip studio that may change.
This new Tab is good for competition! The Ipad Pro was in a class of its own for the last few years, but with this new contender, Apple might have to reevaluate the market. Let's see what happens next...
Great review Ella!!! On the point of the S-Pen not charging on the edge of the device. I think it's important to note that all the Wacom-enabled functionality will continue to work without charge. 🙂
I would absolutely love a display input aswell. Great idea and great argument that it will be usable as second screen when unusable for anything else. I've actually wanted it for so long and no display input is kinda the only reason I'm not buying one yet but no one seems to be talking about it.
It seems like a great tablet. But for my purposes, the iPad Pro is still the best for music creation and production. The majority of music creation apps are mainly created for Apple iOS. But this seems like a great tablet if you’re not using it for music creation.
I think most iPad users are iPhone users as well. One of the main reasons why I use iPad Pro is because I want to stay within the apple ecosystem. It just makes things very easy for me (aside from the fact that I never had an issue with using iPad Pro as my laptop). But my sister is in the samsung ecosystem and I can say that samsung is really awesome and powerful. So I guess it really depends.
I’m an Apple user but I actually thing the s9 is better than most iPads, not sure about the iPad Pro though, me personally I love the full screen effect the s9 has on all apps.
For me Ipad is going to be a gaming device i frequently use. With AAA titles being ported I only see a future with more and more AAA games coming to the IPad. Samsung is great but i feel like it is more suited for people needing a device for media or a very specific work flow. Ipad pro covers a wider range of workflow with better quality and now is even more so an all in one device with the introduction of console quality gaming at the end of the month.
Team galaxy over HERE!!! Nice review! You check marked everything imo! great explanation and comparisons. very informative and yet simple and straight to the point!
I've used the ipad air 2 released in 2014 and currently watching this on my tab s6 which is still a fantastic tablet. From my experience I do have to say apples build quality is top notch and the ipad shows much less signs of aging. My mum continues to use my old ipad air and it's still very Smooth to use. Samsung tablets are more flashy and definitely do feel more futuristic but I do think longevity of android tablets are what makes them "worse" in a sense than ipads.
Same here! We have been using our iPads for nearly 9 years since 2014 and they are still working very well. My samsung Note 2 and Note 3 died in two years. Even my LG cell phone works better than Note 3. btw, the host looks like and smiles like Yuna Kim. 😊
A lot depends upon what work you have with the device and how do you use it. A tablet isnt made for doing too many heavy tasks, so longevity is no question, because until u are just watching videos, making notes, watching ppts.. everything will be fine( even after 10+ years)
I have iPhone n had n have ipads they don't last n usually start to break down not long after using it or a year after or so My note samsung phones last 5 years or more
This was one of the Best Reviews ive seen so far about this Device no Numbers without Visuals. The only thing missing if youre comparing it to Apple Device would be Software Support.
I’m on iPad mini and I use tablets mostly on the go and around the house to consume movies and tv shows so i stopped thinking about a tablet for creative side of my work etc and am seriously thinking of selling my ipad mini and apple pencil and adding the money to get the s9 ultra! Really interesting tablet, but might end up with the s9+ the ultra seems a bit too… ultra 😂
This was a great video. It was informative and comprehensive without feeling too much like attending a samsung event or weighed down with technical specs/jargon. I already bought an M2 iPad but this does seem like an incredible tablet and if i had seen this video prior to my purchase i would have genuinely considered it
Thank you so much for this video. It's getting close to the holiday season and I was thinking of treating myself with an iPad Pro, but after watching your review I'm back to thinking about Samsung tablets. I only wanted the Pro because I have so many friends that use the Mac systems and I have a podcast and sharing work to get reviewed is hard between my Galaxy and HP laptop and their Macs and iPhones. Now I'm just stuck again but happy to see that Samsung is an option.
I love your reviews. Simple, easy to understand and to the point. I have got a question though, Samsung s23 ultra has a feature called bypass mode where you can plug your phone to the charger and it will deliver power straight to the processor instead of the battery. Does this exist on tab S9 ultra as well? That would be a game changer.
I got an ipad pro back in 2020 because I wanted a mobile option for drawing and painting, and while it's been nice, I still find myself turning to my Note 8 for sketching on the go. I'm also a Windows and Android user, and I've never been able to get comfortable with Apple's ipad OS or the Apple ecosystem, so I've been browsing through the market for an capable Android alternative for my ipad. Looks like this one is a serious contender - thanks for the insightful and practical review.
I don't think its necessarily that expensive when you compare to the newest ipad pros. Of course the price itself is expensive but you will get the bigger and better screen on the Samsung tablet in comparison to the ipad
If you can wait till next year, you can get an iPad Pro with OLED, although not guaranteed. Rumors say they will get OLED, but we cannot believe them as they’re still rumors.
Apple will always have the better app store because all developers need to do is mostly write for one platform since all 3 ios devices (iphone, ipad and m series computers) use similar cpu/gpu.
Art apps for samsung: ibisPaintX, flipaclip, medibang, infinte painter, artflow, sketchbook IbisPaintX and medibang would probably be the best options. They do have clip studio paint too.
From artists point of view, I can't give up the apple pencil and screen plus the art apps. The other stuff looks way cooler on the Tab, but the art stuff is stellar on the iPad Pro still.
Yeah Apple, your reign is threatened! Samsung dit it! I'm as ipad user, but S9 ultra is superb. Here in my country, samsung is selling the S9 ultra in a bundle with the pen and keyboard, and is cheaper then a Ipad m2. I'm sticking to the ipad because I need to use procreate, but I'm tempted to buy an galaxy tab next year.
Ive still been using my tab s6 since release😂 i honestly love it so much, and i would love to get the s9 ultra or s8 ultra as either would be a HUGE upgrade😮
Great review, very thorough. I've always preferred Samsung, though for work I'm stuck with the iPad Pro. Prices here are much different, Samsung is a couple of 100 dollars less expensive than the similar iPad Pro. Unfortunately out of my reach for now, also knowing that the Lenovo Tab Extreme is a more affordable option. It's underrated, but very similar to the Tab Ultra. As for speed, that's all relative. I've got the iPad Pro with M1 and while on paper it's very powerful, in day to day use it's not noticeable faster than my Lenovo P11+ with half the ram and a much slower processing unit. I actually prefer my P11+ because it's snappy in use and lighter and it has a similar pen to the Samsung S Pen.
@@swarala yes, it's still okay to lift for a while, you get used to it. My iPad Pro with cover is heavier and I've been carrying that around for years. Android apps are fine for me, but that will be different for everyone.
Compared to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, the Tab S9 Ultra has an upgraded 13 MP and 8 MP rear camera and 12 MP and 12 MP Ultra Wide front camera. Compared to the Galaxy Tab S8+, the Tab S9+ has an upgraded 13MP and 8MP rear camera and 12MP Ultra Wide front camera.
Excellent review and comparison. The best I've seen. I subscribed. One thing, if someone needs to do serious video editing or some very intense task (that taxes cpu and takes awhile to complete) then they should used a capable laptop/desktop. Tablets are a poor choice for those type of tasks. So the edge that the IPad pro has in speed is not only unnoticeable in all other tasks but the tab s9 ultra is actually slightly faster/smoother in some. Just got my tab s9 ultra 2 days ago. I like it better than my iPad pro 12.9 6th gen (latest version). 1. It has system graphic equalizer (I have very expensive headphones). 2. Screen real-estate is larger for multitasking and movies. 3. Writing with spen feels a lot better. Love the button to erase. Samsung notes is excellent. 4. Fingerprint/pattern options For ipad pro 1. Speakers sound slightly better (richer bass but not necessarily louder than tab s9 ultra). 2. Portrait mode is great for reading textbooks. But both are excellent (if you can afford them). Hopefully apply puts the front facing camera in the right place on the upcoming ipad pros.
I had one of the early Samsung Tab super tablets. What was shocking was how briefly its OS was supported and updated. There was a total of one update: and all that update did was to stop you from being able to use non-Samsung bluetooth keyboards. This was especially annoying to me because I could have still used it for displaying music chord charts with a bluetooth page turner even after it was too out of date to use for anything else. Do I really want to spend this much money to buy into a platform that will only be updated for a short amount of time?
I have looked at and used this Samsung Tablet and it’s a beautiful device. From a hardware perspective, the Samsung beats the iPad Pro. However, the problem is its software. It lacks the professional apps that can be found on the iPad. For content consumption alone it’s a great device but costly. Also, a 14 inch screen is not practical to hold for extend periods of time. It’s better to use as a PC replacement. I am not on Apples side but I find the 11inch iPad Pro the best balance between size and practical use. Anything bigger, in my opinion, is too heavy and impractical to use as a tablet. I use my iPad Pro both as a tablet and a portable PC when paired to a keyboard and mouse for editing documents and note taking when out and about. Still use my MacBook for heavy work. A tablet can never truly replace the demanding tasks that a computer is designed for.
I haven't had a tablet since the first iPad mini and I used it mostly to play games and to read e-books, but man tablets have come so far. With tablets like this, I don't see the need to have both a laptop and a tablet separately.
ipad has its own ipad os. ipad pen capabilities with m4 ipads got much better. both have a good eco system. in terms of battery life ipads provide much longer battery life. application optimizations are way much better on ipad (but thats not samsungs fault.- after all samsung doesnt have a os. they use android os. - they have one ui yes it's not an os or build) seamless integration with ipad / mac / iphone and other bluetooth accessories are flawless.. however samsung is probably the best option if you hate apple to buy a tablet. but wish if you have money have time on both for 1 month then decide which one you want to continue with.
This was a very comprehensive and fair evaluation of the two options. I'm seeking a good tab to facilitate my studies... I think I'll check out the Galaxy. NEVER been a fan of Apple anyway.
After owning a Tab S8+ for the last 4 months coming from using an iPad pro for years prior, I can say Samsung has a great tablet here for most people. For me though personally my biggest gripe as someone who uses a tablet as my on the go computer, it lacks optimized apps and app selection is poor, especially for any creative work, photo or video editing, or even music production I find the ipad is still ahead. I can run my entire TH-cam production workflow on an iPad versus on Android It's almost impossible to. Also not having photoshop where I can create layered and complex thumbnails is a bummer because Photoshop Express and other apps on an android tablet are atrociously bad. Also, now, with final Cut Pro on an ipad and Logic Pro I'm looking to switch back. Yes you have lumina fusion, but it has a 3.6 on the app store and horrible reviews of major bugs and artifacting.
Worth mentioning is that the Second Screen function turns the S Tab into a graphics tablet for your Windows PC, which means you can use the S Tab's low latency S Pen input and OLEI display on full blown programs. The SuperDisplay app optimizes the built in Second Screen even further.
A lot of these people tries to persuade others that Samsung is better, but in my experience with both, I’m still stuck with iPhone, not because I want to, but because Apple products are just a lot better and more fluid. Don’t even get me started with these M chips, they are just a lot faster and more fluid than most Samsung products.
You just gained a subscriber...youre so informative...to the point...your video editing skills are top notch...no fun y sounds and whatever...its just great work
i have watched countless videos on this tablet specifically, and gotta be honest, the was probably the most informative out there, and gave me some tips, especially with the goodlock apps, they arent avaliable in my country, but thats why its good its android, cause sideloading is a thing
I think the tech seems solid, but I still struggle with the lackluster app support for Android tablets. I only moved to Apple in 2020 for my tablet and phone. It was a great breath of fresh air after struggling with a variety of Android products over the previous decade, I was anti-apple for so long. The better app support on Apple products and the longer-term support (android products lose their update support quicker). There is something to be said for almost everything being able to be done from a web browser these days, but I don't think that's a reason to purchase a 1k+ tablet. That's a reason to purchase the cheapest large-screen kindle fire.
2 issue I have with the iPad pro 12.9 M2. The screen dims like crazy in the sun and the battery is terrible. I use it everyday for work outside. I'm switching to the Samsung this week
Have seen quite a few complaints regarding the M2 Ipad on those points. Strangely enough the M1 version does far better. Maybe a question of heat, as the M2 is pretty much an overclocked M1. They probably should have skipped it and waited for TSCM's 3nm, but money... There's a reason Apple is apparently sitting on a huge pile of surplus M2 chips. Might be time to put an end to the annual release cycle, at least for tablets, it's becoming unneeded.

This video is very similar to Samsung advertising, all comments are for samsung. Ipad is superior in tablet . M serie cpu is very better, ios is very user friendly and ....
Nah, bro. Less useful AI features, more unaffordable price, smaller screen, .... seem a bit odd to me. The CPU doesn't matter much as well, since every single CPU doesn't make that many differences between tablets. About the friendly-user system, that actually depends on the users. Some might prefer iPads, some may want to have a Samsung tab. The iPad is still one of the most unworthiest devices for me to invest in in a long-term period, dude.

While apple activity is focused on new electronic gadgets and smartphone, tablet and MacBook. Samsung has very strong bankroll. Very innovative technology in smartphone and laptops owe to APPLE
Which tablet is better probably depends on your use case. I use the Tab S9 Ultra as a tv replacement in my bed room. I put it on a stand so that I can watch movies and TV, listen to music and play games on my PC or PS5 using SteamLink and Playstation Remote while lying on my back. For this use case, the Samsung tablet is the perfect device, especially as I personally like the Android software more than iOS and I can use the apps that I already purchased for my phone and my Android TV. If you need a seamless integration with other apple products and services or software that is only available on iOS or better on iOS, then the iPad is the better choice. Yes, the iPad with an M cpu has more computing power, but if you really need more computing power than what the S9 Ultra offers, you probably shouldn't buy a tablet and buy a laptop instead.

I like the tablet because it’s basically a laptop. I draw small comics from time to time and it’s really great! The stylus coming with the box is amazing too. Watching videos on it is amazing and honestly is just a great tablet.
I really hope Google continues to push developers to bring and optimize their apps for Android tablets because we are basically at the point where the Galaxy Tab is a serious competitor to the iPad.
It certainly has the advantage in the OS compared to iPadOS. (The M2 is a great SOC, but iPadOS really holds it back.)

I've been using iPad Pro for 3 years with bunch of other Apple stuff but also considering moving back to Android too.

Very good comparison! 👏👏
I’ve switched this week from a M1 ipad pro 12’9”, to the Samsung Galaxy tab s9 ultra, and I think that Samsung is overtaken apple in versatility, hardware and design.
Sure they might win and versatility, but I disagree on that point as well, because Samsung might be more versatile for very few people like you who have very specific use cases, but overall the iPad Pro is much more versatile, because it can do MORE (play games/not crash 24/7/not be buggy constantly/better app experience)
With the 14.6 inch screen I think the design is better than the iPad for sure so I will give you that but that’s about it.
File management has been apple's weakness. You don't own the files, apps own the files.
@@ZxAMobileyou're just a fanboy lol. Apple is known for being restrictive with their OS and Tab S9 is only good for specific uses?

@@footballfunnyashell Stop using meth dude!!! Apple has been copying Samsung for the past 7 years.
Finally an in-depth review which I've been waiting for 🤩👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
As an apple user and apple fan …I gotter say that Samsung really be doing the best with there new merch…it’s actually giving something new 💯
A concern I would have about switching is the longevity of it. I've had two iPads. One that I got in 2014 and the other that I just bought last year. My 2014 iPad still works but the battery dies too fast and it works somewhat slow (but I think that's mostly bc many of the apps are no longer supported). iPads are pricey but they last a long time.
Samsung makes really durable devices it may not last long as a. Apple devices but it will last long
@@thetop6340 Yeah, I think for people whose budget isn't that great, I get them getting a device within what they're comfortable with. However, for anyone who can afford it, I would always say Apple is the way to go for tablets and laptops. Definitely more bank for your buck as far as longevity goes.
they last long because of the Long term of software update support. I still have my 2017 iPad 5th Gen and it still works with some games
Is that really fair for the customers or Apple ?
@@seefahfah Not really, but that's their MO. Have you stuck on the ecosystem so you'd need a device for every single task you have
I mean performance, app support and gaming wise the even the iPad m1 is miles ahead. But if you want to just watch videos and play a few light games go for the S9 “Ultra”
@seefahfah Apple has its fan base by the balls 😂 so yeah fair or not apple don't care.
In 1986 I said I would never own an Apple product and I stand by that to this day.
0:33 That fact alone helped me made my decision to get the Tab S9 Ultra. Thanks!
Great review. All tablets and laptops should have a display input to use as a monitor I hate that is not an option for when the hardware ages out.
if you want to use this tablet as a second screen buy the app super display it lets you use the full resolution and frame rate with very minimal delay
This is one of the clearest and best reviews I’ve seen. Thank you.
A tablet isnt made for doing too many heavy tasks, so longevity is no question, because until u are just watching videos, making notes, watching ppts.. everything will be fine( even after 10+ years)
Ipad 9th user here!
I have iPhone n had n have ipads they don't last n usually start to break down not long after using it or a year after or so
My note samsung phones last 5 years or more

This was one of the Best Reviews ive seen so far about this Device no Numbers without Visuals.
The only thing missing if youre comparing it to Apple Device would be Software Support.
Included nwjns in the demonstration? I'm sold.
Yes it has tht feature!!
@@unmeshmuley6967Wait what feature is that? I've never heard of it before.
How can i find this option?

I got an ipad pro back in 2020 because I wanted a mobile option for drawing and painting, and while it's been nice, I still find myself turning to my Note 8 for sketching on the go.
I'm also a Windows and Android user, and I've never been able to get comfortable with Apple's ipad OS or the Apple ecosystem, so I've been browsing through the market for an capable Android alternative for my ipad.
Looks like this one is a serious contender - thanks for the insightful and practical review.

I want to swap from my older 12 iPad Pro. Mainly use it for media and light gaming. The bigger screen and oled would be nice 😮 expensive af though 😅
I don't think its necessarily that expensive when you compare to the newest ipad pros. Of course the price itself is expensive but you will get the bigger and better screen on the Samsung tablet in comparison to the ipad
You can trade in and get 400 off with your 12.9; steal of a deal
Get the S9 plus then it’s cheaper but still big screen
If you can wait till next year, you can get an iPad Pro with OLED, although not guaranteed. Rumors say they will get OLED, but we cannot believe them as they’re still rumors.
Apple will always have the better app store because all developers need to do is mostly write for one platform since all 3 ios devices (iphone, ipad and m series computers) use similar cpu/gpu.
Art apps for samsung: ibisPaintX, flipaclip, medibang, infinte painter, artflow, sketchbook
IbisPaintX and medibang would probably be the best options. They do have clip studio paint too.
From artists point of view, I can't give up the apple pencil and screen plus the art apps. The other stuff looks way cooler on the Tab, but the art stuff is stellar on the iPad Pro still.
Depends on what apps you want to use. Sadly the pro editing/photo stacking apps only works on the iPad pro.
Same with vector apps such as Affinity designer/Illustrator/Fresco. Nowhere to be seen on android, so I guess I'll have to stick with my iPad Pro.
I've been using the S7 for two years now. Haven't faced any major issues yet. Been using it constantly for my studies.
هل هذا يعني ان استخدامه فتره طويله من الزمن لن يؤثر على سلاسة الاستخدام؟
I went with the Tab S 23 256GB 8GB RAM. I got my tablet for drawing, so happy. Wacom pens also work :)
I actually prefer my P11+ because it's snappy in use and lighter and it has a similar pen to the Samsung S Pen.
but you cant lift it because its large and there werent more android apps is it ok for you?
4. Fingerprint/pattern options
For ipad pro
1. Speakers sound slightly better (richer bass but not necessarily louder than tab s9 ultra).
2. Portrait mode is great for reading textbooks.
But both are excellent (if you can afford them). Hopefully apply puts the front facing camera in the right place on the upcoming ipad pros.
Half-way watching the review, and Im impressed on the infos I got, solid-review 🙌
Do I really want to spend this much money to buy into a platform that will only be updated for a short amount of time?
that was 7 or 8 generations ago. things have changed
I think I can find a cheaper Tab S8 ultra around this time, and wait for S9 ultra price drop
I think the Tab S9Plus is a good choice too=)
I have looked at and used this Samsung Tablet and it’s a beautiful device.
This review was excellent.. Very clear, informative and entertaining.. You have a new, well earned subscriber!!
I haven't had a tablet since the first iPad mini and I used it mostly to play games and to read e-books, but man tablets have come so far. With tablets like this, I don't see the need to have both a laptop and a tablet separately.
I have Tab S8 Plus ❤ 😊😊 i loved it
Same here
I have it too! It's great!
How is it today?
ipad has its own ipad os. ipad pen capabilities with m4 ipads got much better. both have a good eco system. in terms of battery life ipads provide much longer battery life. application optimizations are way much better on ipad (but thats not samsungs fault.- after all samsung doesnt have a os. they use android os.

Don’t even get me started with these M chips, they are just a lot faster and more fluid than most Samsung products.

i have watched countless videos on this tablet specifically, and gotta be honest, the was probably the most informative out there, and gave me some tips, especially with the goodlock apps, they arent avaliable in my country, but thats why its good its android, cause sideloading is a thing
I can't leave iPad behind until Procreate can come with me.

2 issue I have with the iPad pro 12.9 M2. The screen dims like crazy in the sun and the battery is terrible. I use it everyday for work outside. I'm switching to the Samsung this week
Samsung has worse battery and less powerful chipset 😂😂, plus it's very optimised like iPads
