You enjoyed Alien Storm? I never cared for it. It's like the game can't decide if it is a beat em' up or a side scrolling shooter. I did however love the first person bits.
Always loved playing Golden Axe! Feel like it’s the best example of a Sega Genesis game.

You could probably do a part 2, Ghouls N Ghosts, Midnight Resistance, Mercs, Fatal Fury, Super Hang On, Outrun, and a few others might be worth a look.

I think Sega Genesis did an excellent job making arcade ports to the home console. Some of them I don't like but games I do like such as Golden Axe, Turtles Hyper Stone Heist & Street Fighter 2 Championship edition, I rather just play these games on the Sega Genesis where you aren't wasting a lot of money putting in quarters playing these versions of the games.
Golden Axe is definitely one of the best
Genesis Frogger is the only one with the full original arcade soundtrack. Even the Arcade 1up frogger doesn't have it
It’s because the song is a copyrighted nursery rhyme from Japan. Later versions removed it.

Great video. I played a lot of these Genesis games as a kid and didn't know some of them were arcade games.
I just found out today that "Blades of Steel" started as an arcade game! 😆
Used to play a lot of Snow Bros and Monster Lair on the Genesis.
I know it's on the Genesis Mini 2, but the recent official port of Fantasy Zone is virtually arcade perfect from what I understand. There's a standalone rom floating around, it's definitely worth a play. Super Fantasy Zone was more of a reimagining of the game. Also, that Frogger port doesn't get enough love. There's a rom hack for it that restores the arcade colors, making it probably the most accurate version along with the original soundtrack.

I need more videos like this! There are more great ports of the arcade for the genesis like ghouls n ghosts, wardner, twin cobra, two crude dudes, rolling thunder, atomic runner, chiki chiki boys, snow bros, etc...

Ok. I gotta say I really enjoyed the video. Thre are a lot of things we don't agree on but I understand we can have different points of view. That being said, please allow me to do the following: "Street Fighter 2. The original arcade game was kinda lame" SAID NO ONE EVER. XD Love your channel man. Keep it up!!

I actually didn't even know that Alien Storm was an arcade game, but i played it alot on Genesis back in the day!💖
The Genesis port of AfterBurner is actually based upon AfterBurner II in the arcade. The arcade AfterBurner footage you showed was from the first AfterBurner game. I can tell because the score was not continuously counting up during gameplay. Plus AfterBurner II has the throttle controls and the first game does not.
Yeah I kinda messed up there. Forgot to mention the Genesis game was Afterburner II. But it’s not a significant difference between games.
By the time Sega had the 32X and Saturn to make perfect ports of those games it was way too late
The lack of hardware sprite scaling really hurt the Genesis’ ability to do better ports of games like Afterburner.

Well, the lack of hardware sprite scaling is the lesser problem. The _greater_ problem is the lack of that wonderful simulator that tilts in four directions. 😂
Doing Twin Sticks with SEGA Genesis 🎮 is a pretty tall order considering they're meant to be a both hands situation.
But remember that Sega-made spiderman arcade game (vaguely similar to Double Dragon) that NEVER had a home console version of any kind... ?
The arcade games were the reason I preferred the Genesis over SNES. Captain America was a pleasant surprise how fun it is as a game. I played the Genesis version first, before noticing it at the arcade.
The Sega arcade conversions were the best

@@cliffchampion5501 Indeed, if they actually played arcade ports to the SNES, they'd see that. Sounds like they didn't and just go by what they think arcade ports were like, like Captain America (which was ported over by Realtime Associates, hardly a worthy company). You usually see this from Genesis fanboys hating on the company that beat their asses regularly in console sales.

I love those consoles... In some cases the Arcade is doing well and in others the Genesis is doing well.
You sure that's arcade footage of Caveman Ninja that you are showing off (It isn't)? The music, nor HUD at the top of the screen doesn't seem quite right, like it's an Amiga version or something. As for the Samurai Shodown port, it's missing a lot more than sound effects and animations, and Earthquake and his stage, quite a bit more.
You should make a new comparison with the hack games for the Sega Genesis, they are incredible friend

for the genesis I bought the genesis joystick for after burner it was better than the standard genesis controller. Good times 8-)
Definitely the worst arcade Neo Geo port for me is World Heroes for the Mega Drive.
It was so damn bad.

You missed Arcade games Truxton- nice conversion, King of the Monsters 2- terrible conversion, The Punisher - terrible conversion, Growl- OK conversion, and others such as The Thunderforce Arcades, and Thunderblade arcade game- terrible conversion, and Primal Rage- terrible conversion.
Great video! Have you played the fan Mortal Kombat fix yet? It looks almost arcade perfect and features all the voices. It looks better than the Sega CD port, no joke.

Haha, I ALMOST said that as a joke! But that’s the NES version.
The Sega CD port of MK also has restored art, animation, and optional turbo speed. It's not just a lazy Genesis copy and paste with better music.
Save for the load times, this used to be the best home port, by far.
You should have actually played it, instead of cutting corners.
That said, you give credit to Pitfghter. Simple and dated doesn't mean bad design. And you call out the reasons why Double Dragon ceded their crown to Streets of Rage without a fight.
It's a good video... It's just that between the mistake with MK1 and skipping SamSho CD, why include CD coverage at all?

A decent comparison but I don’t agree with you on a lot of things especially when it comes to the sound of the games Saturday night slam. Masters has great sound in terms of music for the MD version but I grew you on the sound effects being very scratchy. are you really suck at Strider, in fact it’s a common occurrence with a lot of your reviews that I don’t agree with when it comes to the audio.
I grew up playing the Genesis port of Sunset Riders so I have nostalgia for it but in hindsight there's no nice way of putting it...Konami dropped the ball with the Genesis port. They allowed an inexperienced 5 person team to port it but even had they used a veteran team the executives made the boneheaded move of greenlighting a 4 Megabit cartridge in 1992 when most were double or triple that size at the time giving them no room to work. A few years ago some programmers in Brazil announced they were making a proper port to the game and it looks even better than the SNES port just like the Arcade but there's been no news in the last 2 years since which concerns me that the project is dead. Anyway, can't wait for Part 2 as there's many others out there to cover like Mercs and Cadash! 😎
Pit Fighter was notoriously garbage on Genesis.
Neo Geo games aren't legitimate arcade games. They are not as powerful or capable as Capcom, Sega or Konami games were.
I count them as arcade games because you drop in quarters to play
Then you might as well pretend Tekken 3 was never an arcade game.
