To dismiss 50 odd years of canon through tv,books and comics is ridiculous and has cost a lot of loyalty and money as fans and to do this without rhyme or reason is beyond me.

The new back story is so bad its beyond words.
Back in the day the series got criticized for dodgy special effects, sets, and acting. Years later when these aspects aren't an issue. The 'PC' era takes everything appealing about the show and purposely smashed it to pieces.
These last 5 or so years have done irreversible damage to mystic of the character. Ultimately making the basis of show completely null & void.
Doctor Who did have some Glorious moments but like the Doctor you'll have to travel way back in time to see 'em.
Whilst it doesn’t really bother me that he did this, it is baffling when one of the major reasons was to fix the 12 regeneration limit and yet that had already been "fixed" by Moffat.

My interest started to deplete when the 'War Doctor' became a thing. There was a golden opportunity to have the 8th Doctor play an integral role in the series. Whilst filling in the lost years between 8th & 9th. Imo War Doctor was unnecessary. Basically its change for the sake of change....pointless

Looking back at the Doctor's full timeline made me wonder if everything was planed from the beginning or not.

One little problem , says very old fan..In the second ever Hartnell episode(The cave of skulls)the Doctor looks at the Tardis to find , that for THE VERY FIRST TIME the chameleon circuit has not functioned and it had stayed as a police box. (and Susan explains to Ian that it should have changed.)BUT prior to landing in Totters yard IT HAD NOT BEEN A POLICE BOX !...so no previous incarnation to Hartnell could have had a Tardis that looked like a police box...They didn't check the history on this one ! Also in The three Doctors ,The time Lords refer to Hartnell as THE FIRST DOCTOR ...Either they were blinded to previous incarnations...or the producer hasn't done their historical research... Thank you for your very comprehensive history....
Only the series 6b theory makes any sense now, as we need a tv version of "The Night Walkers".

I have issue with gallifrey and it's timeline. The gallifrey initially gets destroyed, then it gets resurrected,only to be sealed in a pocket universe, and finally when the 13th arrives it's destroyed again? Man poor common folks who live in that planet. XD
Gallifrey's history is good if you ignored the Timeless Child BS.
Gallifrey was always saved by the Doctor. Otherwise, the Eleventh Doctor wouldn't have had all his run-ins with the Silence, and Melody would never have become River Song. The Tenth Doctor would never have met River Song either.
It was the Time Lord calling out through the Cracks on Trenzalore that caused the Kovarian Chapter to track the Doctor down in his Timeline, blowing up his TARDIS and therefore creating the very cracks in the Universe through which the Time Lords were attempting to return. They were also responsible for the 'creation' of River Song in the first place.
Had the Doctor not saved the Time Lords in an original Timeline, none of these events would have ever taken place.
Rassilon,Omega and the other founded gallifrey.
Maybe Tecteum is the Other, or the Other is the Timeless Child.
According to Andrew Cartmell, the Doctor and the Other were the same person, just a reincarnation.
The Doctor has many story and maybe many others to come. It is just like the liens this song is ending but the story never ends.
Jamie and Zoe DID remember only their first adventure with the Doctor (the events of the Highlanders for Jamie and The Wheel In Space for Zoe) which is clearly stated in episode ten of The War Games.
Here's a question, like why did the galiferains give the 11th a second regeneration if he didn't need it, what, just to keep up a rouse, it's idiodic, I hope it's all fake otherwise chibanall better have a damn good excuse.

But why do all of them have 2 hearts and 2 brains if the doctor came from somewhere else? Did the Shebogans just so happen to have the same anatomy? Does the injection of foreign dna cause them to spontaneously grow additional organs? Some plot holes a whole family could fit through
I'd say during the first regeneration (which I figure happens when one is injected with the DNA) they grow the extra organs as they become a new species.

AriUnwritten actually it’s never said that the doctor has more than one brain... it’s only said that time-lords have three brain stems.... allowing their brains to transfer information faster... unless you count Jodie Whittaker’s doctor saying “come on brains” in orphan 55.... that is the only instance in which it is implied

Wow, talk about avoiding the sad facts, the child was brutally abused and tortured to death multiple times by her 'adopted' mother figure, so she could benefit herself from the child's 'gifts' Tecteum was a serial killer, a murderer of a child, multiple times. Amazing how this is constantly glossed over.

Pretty good video! Kinda wish there were a reference of The Other, as it helps close the bridge between the Timeless Child/Morbius Doctors incarnation cycles and the Hartnell incarnation cycle, but a pretty solid video nonetheless! :D

Very well done and a good sequentail time line in my opinion. Puts together many missing pieces.
By adding in the detail of the Time Lords restricting the memory-wiped Doctor to 12 regenerations, you have made it even clearer that this may as well be two stories about two different people, the Timeless Child and the Doctor. I think Ruth's Doctor must come later in the timeline, otherwise it would have to be a billion to one coincidence that she would also have a TARDIS stuck in the shape of a Police Box. Although... did I imagine it, or did the room where Brendan had his memory wiped have doors shaped not unlike those of a Police Box? Might that be a clue to be linked to something later?
And I've said it before elsewhere: If Morbius could see beyond the block put on the Doctor's memories by the Division, why didn't he use that devastating knowledge to win the mind-bending contest? Since he didn't, for the Doctor to be the Timeless Child, those faces must be of Morbius. And if those faces are of the Doctor, surely the Doctor cannot be the Timeless Child.
Fingers crossed this mess gets untangled some time soon. Well done for making such a valiant attempt in your excellent video.

The Ruth Doctor can't be the first, for the reasons you stated. Why was the TARDIS hidden under the soil, already disguised as a police telephone box, as Hartnell's Doctor clearly explains it's supposed to change appearance in the very first episode & where was Susan when the Jadoon arrived in Gloucester? The only solution is to focus around series 6b & perhaps a tv version of "The Night Walkers".
@@michaeljones7465 For a long time I thought that the explanation might be that the First Doctor originally regenerated into the Ruth Doctor, who was later regressed to a child and sent back through time on a mission for the Division to bring regeneration to ancient Gallifrey. Why else would the Timeless Child allow Tecteun to force him/her to regenerate so frequently? How could Tecteun know that the child would regenerate more than once if the child hadn't told her?
The other Timeless Children and the Morbius Doctors followed, the last of whom did something to prevent Gallifrey's destruction, creating a new, alternate timeline, in which the First Doctor regenerated into the Second Doctor... And the rest you know.
I'd also wondered whether the First Doctor, being half-human, was born without the ability to regenerate, yet gained that power naturally by his exposure to the time vortex as he travelled back and forth in his 'borrowed' TARDIS, and that was why he was selected by the Division for this mission - a mission the Ruth Doctor tried so hard to avoid.
Alternatively, my Season 6b theory had the Second Doctor regenerate into the Ruth Doctor, and then, as above, the Timeless Children and the Morbius Doctors followed, the last of whom travels through time to the present day Gallifrey of The War Games or is brought back by the Division, and then has his memory wiped and is forced to regenerate into the Troughton Doctor of The Two Doctors, and it is he who changes into the Third Doctor, with his number of remaining regenerations having been suitably reset to conform to what he believes to be the truth.
Maybe I've given all this far too much thought over the past couple of years.
My current theory is that the 14th Doctor opens the fobwatch and nothing happens. All those forgotten memories completely fail to pour out. And then the Toymaker laughs.
This my whole theory.
Tectuen is the Other or the parental figure of the Other/Timeless Child. The Other is one of the three founding Fathers of Galifrey, alongside Rassilon and Omega.
In the end of the Timeless Child's life, he began to gain more and more power in Galifrey and was powerful. Rassilon and Omega devised a plan to stop him. When they did, they didn't kill him, but turned him into a child, with a restriction of 12 regenerations, just like any other Timelord, and no memory of what happened previously.
This is where Hartnell's Doctor is born. This is the Doctor to make the promise. Him making this promise has nothing to do with him being the Timeless Child. He's not more or less important because of it. If anything, he is the complete opposite of the Timeless Child.
I feel the Ruth Doctor is actually a Doctor between 2 and 3. And extra regeneration given to the Doctor by the Timelords to help them out or do specific tasks for them. However, when this Doctor discovers their plan to wipe her mind after her task is complete, she runs away with her companion, using the Chameleon Arch, hoping she can escape. This is where she runs into the 13th Doctor. Eventually, the Timelords find her and wipe her mind. They make her regenerate and ground her on Earth in 1970, as the 3rd Doctor. The Doctor's regeneration cycle continues as normal, and he has no memory of the Ruth Doctor.
Everything continues as normal.
P.S - This is made by someone who doesn't like the Timeless Child idea, with influence from a collection of theories.

I can find something entertaining and fun even if it doesn't make sense. Sure, I don't like the Timeless Child reveal, but it was still entertaining to figure it out.
The only thing that would ruin Doctor Who is canceling it.
Tbh some of it is just mindless "attacking" but a large proportion of it is critical people who understand story beats. I love Russels stuff. I adore Moffats stuff. Chibnall has a few shining examples but most of his episodes are not only subjectively bad, they're objectively poorly written and held up by this need to do something greater instead of actually trying to be competent in the first place. I was all behind the timeless child until it was "revealed" that it was the Doctor because I still don't believe that. The Master (who also has 0 reason, is terribly directed and terribly written now) could have easily tricked The Doctor and implanted thoughts of the timeless child inside of them, he seemed to know what The Doctor was thinking so maybe it is all a trick. The timeless child is real but I sure hope it's not The Doctor, as it ruins one of the big, important points of Doctor Who, ANYONE can be The Doctor, the only advantage they have is they come back. Like an idea. The Doctor is just an idea. Male, Female, English, Not English, who cares The Doctor was an idea. I have 0 issues them deus ex machina ing more Doctors, hell even 12 said he didn't know how many regenerations he got on Trenzalore. I just want people to see that it's not "attacking" and honestly I don't want to accept this show in its current state. Chibnall has his moments but most of the time it's all just Orphan 55, miswritten and misguided, instead of a good subtle message it just clangs you on the head and everything seems too clean for a world ending prophecy. I can't wait for the next Season. I can't wait for more episodes like Nickola Tesla and Paxeus. The show still hasn't lost it's sense of scale at least. Clean or not, events do truly still feel like they have impact. It's not that Doctor Who is ruined, it has a flu and needs to be treated very carefully or it will fall off. I have faith in Chibnall, I honestly do.
Also may I add that for anyone out there trying to say that 13 undoing 10's "work" of entrapping the family of blood is badly done and just lazy and supposed to be a vain attempt at female empowerment... Well it KIND of it but let us not forget all the BROODING 12 did. All those years, all that time, All those years inside his own confession dial. You have to think it'd come up at some point? You have to think he's thought about it. It's not his choice to make yet but 13 makes it and I like it. I like how compassionate 13 is, I like how she's personable but still a bit goofy. Just fuck off saying family of blood is ruined. It isn't. It's better. 10 was an awful piece of work when he got mad, like an angry father. 13 can see a judgement made in rashness. 10 was an amazing Doctor BECAUSE he was emotional and angry and rash. 13 is a great Doctor because she is kind and understanding.

As for ruth, in episode 5 she had no idea jodie was the doctor and by episode 10 she knew everything about the doctor, so i think shes either not real and is an amalgamation of the doctors worrior/ fighting side or the next doctor and its the 13th doctor who gets her mind wiped and she spends her first series finding out who she is, so in conclusion i don’t think its as simple as the doctor is the timeless child and ruth is pre Hartnell, we just have to wait and see

I just hope that if Chibnall has the audacity to change everything the Doctor is by dropping this unwanted bomb on us, he has it planned out well. I mean, what if he knew that the fans would be mad when he came up with 'the timeless child', but then wrote the rest of the story in a way that the fans would actually like. Hopefully that's what happens in season 13.

The problem is.... We know that Gallifreyans can regenerate into any age. We have seen Matt Smith's Doctor regenerate into Capaldi.... How do we know that the child Techtyune found was at its actual child stage....
SURPRISE start to next season. The doctor is magically pregnant. The time stream learned how to do it with River and was just WAITING on the doctor to be female to knock her up! Who does the the doctor's child turn out to be - the timeless child!, the doctor themself! The mother doctor can no longer regenerate. That's exactly why they always regenerate (except when 11 couldn't regenerate for some NON-bullshit reason please), the timeline of their life must conclude with the birth of their life.
I am now great writer, but I don't think it's hard to say my idea there was better than the entire staff of the timeless child.
This made me accept the Timeless Children. I never hated it but would have preferred it didn't happen but this video made it fit a lot more. Made it work. Thanks for that I guess haha

Than all Time Lords would have had a different idea of regeneration and then half of The Doctor’s story would’ve never made sense.
But I don’t know about The Master, but when The Doctor stares into the Vortex he gains a set of Regenerations so he can become immortal, so The Timeless Children alone does not make sense. So when The Doctor falls of a cliff and gains regeneration, the Vortex wouldn’t make sense, which means that Chibnall mainly ruins the show.
also I just don’t count series 12 in the show.

The doctor's origins should NEVER have been known, and this hacked narrative they came up with is an insult to ALL of the people that crew the characters & stories over 50 years. Don't excuse them by making it sound like their shit story was wildly brilliant when it was nothing more than a plot hole filled, uncaring POS story that it is.
If you want to give them an accolade. It's amazing and almost unbelievable that you can ruin over 50 years of something built by hundreds of people in a single hour.

It does play havoc with the time line though because William Hartnell is not still the first incarnation to call himself the Doctor. He's not even the first to travel around in a police box anymore even though the first episode of the series, An Unearthly Child clearly establishes that being the first time the TARDIS was a police box. Because now we've been introduced to the "Ruth" Doctor who has the same TARDIS and is already calling herself the Doctor and she's clearly been established as a Pre-Hartnell era Doctor despite it making no sense with anything that was established before.
Well, the Timeless Child can work, but Ruth coming before William Hartnell doesn't. That's why I feel Ruth is after Hartnell. She must be between 2 and 3.

@@RialVestro, I don't know if Chibnall has said she comes before Hartnell. When the "13th Doctor" asked Ruth where she fits into it all in the finale, Ruth simply said she doesn't know, possibly hinting that maybe she doesn't come before Hartnell, but in fact after.
I don't like the idea of her coming before or after, I'd much prefer her to be some parallel universe Doctor, but it makes most sense for to be after.

Because she's been established to be working for that agency on Gallifrey and it's shown that the Doctor had his/her memory erased of those events at that agency so if Ruth came after she wouldn't still be working there with all her memories having not been erased yet.
Unless the Doctor's pre-Hartnell memories can be restored some how and they erased the Doctor's memories twice.
But even then any Pre-Hartnell Doctors wouldn't make sense. I really think the Timeless Child should of been the Master as it would explain how he keeps cheating death over and over again despite being on his last incarnation when we first met him and Missy supposedly not being able to regenerate after being shot by the Laser Screwdriver.
They never did explain how the current Master fits into the time line. He could be a regeneration between John Simm and Michelle Gomez since we never actually saw that regeneration happen. I ruled out any Pre-Delgado Masters because he clearly remembers killing the 4th Doctor.
@@RialVestro, just because she's been established for working with Galifrey, does not mean it will be connected to the Timeless Child plotline. The Timelords have been established to be able to remove memories from the Doctor before, they've obviously done it with the Timeless Child and the 3rd Doctor, and it also means they could have done it more times too. I still feel it will be between 2 and 3.

There’s a theory that at the start of Jodie’s incarnation she slipped into an alternate reality and it will be revealed in the anniversary story. Either way Chibbers isn’t messing with my head. Also, going back to Morbius who knows the images in the battle of minds weren’t his earlier selves?
They were originally intended to be the doctor, with a scraped storyline being that the 4th doctor was actually the 13th doctor and it is shown as if they are the doctor's past lives.
These were later incorporated into the other backstory, which was the backstory given to the doctor in the books and based on where they were going with the 7th doctor before the show was cancelled. Then finally the idea after being scrapped twice and left to only be explored in books was finally shown on screen.
i LOVE that you point out that it doesn’t interfere with hartnell because the doctor was a child at some point - do people think the doctors mother pushed out an old man and he immediately left the hospital and stole a tardis?

I never wanted the Doctors Childhood to be revealed, i want a mystery, and it just does not make sense and is full of plot holes, id rather the Doctor was a below average non important time lord who learnt what it meant to be the Doctor rather already being hero.

And well, in the original cannon the Doctor is a born pure Gallifreyan who attended the academy then became a time lord and lived on Gallifrey till he wanted to see the universe with his granddaughter
I don't mind knowing about the Doctor's childhood, as long as it is about his friendship with the Master and the best of the Deca, as well as some of the impact that Borusa might have had in his education.

Me too, but I'd they're going to go through with the Timeless Child idea, which it really don't want, but if they do, they should make the Timeless Child the Other. One of the original Timelords who was arrogant and pompous. Eventually, the Timelords felt he was gaining too much power and made him into a child, restricting his regenerations just like any other Timelord. If they make it clear that the Other and the Doctor are every different people, and that Doctor being the one to rebel against the Timelords had nothing to do with him being the Timeless Child in a previous timeline.
Well, that's technically true, Ruth is the only evidence we have that they chose the name Doctor before the mind wipe.
Even Ruth could be some way in between Hartnell and Troughton (you will except season 7B).

The Master has likely lied to the 13th Doctor about being the Timeless Child. The War Doctor is also known as Doctor 8.5. Now after finding out that she wasn't the Timeless Child, the 13th Doctor decides to go on a long journey to find out about who she really is. She learns that her hybrid nature had cause her to have more lives. There is the mysterious Vanguard who is associated with the Ninth Doctor. Of course, there is the more mysterious Ruth. Ironic, Ruth is a part of the Doctor's long history. Let's hope that the Doctor's journey to find herself again causes her to learn that she had only lost one child during the Last great Time War. . This child has died in order to save his father's life. The Doctor learns that most of her family has survived as well as having a connection with the successors of the Time Lords.
This sound better than how chibnall "explained" it in the episode.

It's not dr who any more as everything that defined the character has just been erased by the hack Chris chibnall. Good job there is 50 years of classic who stories to fall back on.
To be honest, if you're still complaining about it months after, you may still watch the show, and the more you watch the more this show will continue, good or bad.

@@lepterfirefall, their legacy is not destroyed. I feel like people are making it out the be worse than it is. The show is not completely dead. We've had weird cannon shattering before. Nothing a small break can't fix. Once Chibnall is gone, someone can choose to ignore and we can move forward. Maybe I'm optimistic, but I'm sure of it.

@@lepterfirefall, the Doctor does not have unlimited regenerations. At least we don't know for sure. If the Timelords could make the Doctor forget everything, surely they'd out a restriction on his regenerations too, to make him just like any other Timelord. And that's what they've done.
And, much like the 8th Doctor being half human, they can retcon this idea. It's not over. They just never need to mention it again, after Chibnall, or just say it was all a lie.
The ratings are a point all by themselves. MrTARDISReviews did a good video on them. The amount of publicity for the show this year was abysmal. At least compared to previous. And people saying ratings didn't matter during Series 11 have jumped ship for Series 12 saying it's proof the show is bad.

Over the decades I have found all the female companions of the doctor interesting and complex but when they flipped the script and made the doctor a female the character became as boring as all the male companions the doctor has had through the decades.😴
