This is exactly what I needed. Thank you. I had very similar symptoms. We are a family of 8 here and the printer gets a lot of action. With it being as new as it is I thought the same thing. Something has to give. It was fine on the first print and then it was magenta and black on the second and so on. Cyan and yellow were completely missing on the nozzle checks, cleaning, etc. Ink levels all more than 50%. Power cleaned and less than a minute after I did several test prints and I was back in business! I understand it can take 12 hours after the fact, but it was so simple and amazing either way. I will gladly replace my waste tank when the time comes. I work in IT and printers are complicated beasts, but we need them to function regardless. This is great. Thank you so much!! I was on the verge of buying a new printer because it didn't print any yellow any more. Now I can go on with the one I have. I am very grateful.
This video just saved me a trip to return a printer. Thank you for this fix solved my problem! The blue wasn't printing, after several head cleanings. So glad I found this one.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this video! I have an EPSON 4700 and everything was going fine until I noticed the blue wasn't printing. I had been dealing with it for a year before I finally decided to look on TH-cam and found this solution. I could kick myself for not searching sooner, but I am truly thankful that I have found it and that all the ink that was clearly still in the EcoTanks would not go to waste. Thank You!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I have been googling and googling for hours trying to get my printer to print all the colors! I just happened to find your video and IT WORKED!!!!
I had same as you. Nozzle clean made no difference but power clean worked! Mine was not printing any black. Power clean used up about 1/4 of my black ink.
Oh my! I thought printer was ready for junk pile after a year dormant. It wouldn’t print a decent copy and no black printing either. Your video saved the day and my printer! Thank you🤓😊
Thank you so much! I freaked a little when my printer stopped printing right. Your video took me through the troubleshooting steps and 3 head cleanings later, blue is back. YAY!!!!
You fixed my printer!! Thank you so much Ms. Marilyn ❤ I have a ET-2803 and the cyan and yellow were taking turns fading in and out, what a simple fix! 😅
Same problem Model ET4800. Tried to clean the nozzle 3 times....no luck. I opened the ink reservoir cover and saw that each color had a cover that when you open it looks like it somehow allows air in. I took a drinking straw and blew air into the blue one, it made a sound sorta like bubbling. I then did another nozzle clean....no luck. I then did another nozzle clean but this time I GENTLY puffed on the straw while it was printing. It got looking about halfway as good as the other colors. So I did it again. PERFECT. I then printed a a color picture like yours. PERFECT.
This was so helpful thank you so much for posting. I was in tears trying to figure out why it wasn't working and couldn't figure out how to do the power cleaning. Going to try that now.
Tip to save most of your ink without draining it through the process of power cleaning is to hold the power button once you see the slightest change in ink levels. Turn the printer back on and give it some time to adjust and do a test print with color and should be fixed.
Saw this too late! At least the power clean worked. It's still a bit frustrating that you have to flush all the inks when for most people only one will be clogged
yep I am having the exact same issues except after multiple nozzle checks and head cleaning it prints ZERO color only black. I spent hours trying to troubleshoot I even checked all my computer printer settings, drivers, software, printing from different computers and software, etc. After much googling I’ve come to the possibility of clog in the tubes and this here doing a power clean….i wasn’t exactly sure what it entailed when it said “chance to replace ink” now I know. So what I’ve learned is that this is the next step is to do the power clean and then if that still doesn’t work then opening up the printer and taking the tubes out and cleaning the tubes in warm water to clear out the clogs if that’s the case. So I REALLY REALLY hope that this fixes it. THANK YOU for this video this is the exact same printer/model I have that is giving me this problem. My other printer is an Epson ET-2800 converted to sublimation…that one is having discoloration issues and my projects colors came out nothing like the original image… so I guess that’ll be next for me to attack and figure out unless you know about that also.
THANK YOU! I had my printer opened up, and I was 'this' close to grabbing my tools. Thank you thank you thank you for saving me from spending hours 'fixing' my printer.
We have the Epson ET-3850. Once the Epson EcoTank Maintenance Box is full, is the printer done? Or, can we replace the Maintenance Box ourselves? If so, how much does the Maintenance Box cost?
For many of the Epson Ecotanks, you can replace the maintenance/waste box. I got mine off of Amazon for somewhere around $15 - $20. I do not know if your model will allow you to change yours out when it is full.
Thanks for this information! I could not get my power clean to work, and I had filled my tanks, so i confirmed I was following your steps and mine would not take me to the 2nd page for confirmation. If you go one or two options over from power clean there's an option of fill tanks ... i had to go click on each one to confirm to the printer that I had filled them. Once I did that I was able to complete the steps for the power clean, which is in process now. Hope this helps for anyone who may have run in to this same issue. Fingers crossed that it fixes the blue issue!
Thank you for the tips. After watching your video, I wanted to see what other options were available before doing a power cleaning. I decided to cycle through some of the head alignment checks, combined that with nozzle cleaning and was able to avoid a power cleaning.
@@dini10000 There's a setting on the Epson printer. When you go into maintenance it does the initial check and the option pops up. I think it's listed right before power cleaning. I just cycles back and forth between the alignment checks and the nozzle cleaning and it worked itself out.
Brilliant - Thank you sooo much!!! I went through the entire process that you did. I was about to throw the printer away even though it’s only 9 months old😢 Then I found your video! Woo Hoo- now it works perfectly 🥳
I'm running the power clean now. 🤞🏼crossed that this works because I just bought this printer. If it doesn't work it's going back! Thank you for the tip Marilyn.
Hi Marilyn. I have the ET-2760 & found out you have to have to use it regularly ir the print heads get dry. I had to do the cleaning and the color is fine now. I have never been able to make stickers but print then cut works fine on paper. Someone in chat told me to leave the "paper" setting alone. I've been changing to photo paper. My Great grand-daughter wants some stickers so I'm going to give it another try but on regular paper setting.
I had to do this a couple of months ago on my ET-2760 too cause I was missing a color. If you haven't tried it yet, try printing on photo paper....wow what a difference! I just bought the Walmart pen+gear brand to try out for some notebooks I'm making.
I appreciate the time you took to create this video! I was at wits' end! I use my computer daily and my magenta stopped working altogether. I thought I'd tried everything. I was ready to throw in the towel. Thank you for explaining the solution to such an upsetting problem. :)
Thank you SO MUCH!!!! It worked like a charm on my ET2800! Can you tell me about this "maintenance box"? Is there something I need to do there, as well?
The maintenance box is a holding box inside the printer where your waste ink goes. Once it is full, your printer will tell you and you will have to change it. I didn't have to change mine after I did the power clean b/c it wasn't very full at that time. I still haven't had to change it on the printer I showed. I did have to change it on a different printer and it was not hard. Here is a video that I found that shows how to change it on your printer model. th-cam.com/video/NLT8HKJpA50/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!!! And to do power cleaning on Epson ET-2720: “Press and hold the power button and the help button at the same time until you see the Power Cleaning screen.”
Awesome! I had the exact same issue (blue not printing, no matter how many printhead cleanings I did) on my EcoTank ET-4800. This solved it, thank you!!
same issue only it was the magenta. Multple cleanings and test printing. At first I thought it was because I was low on black. Even though the test prints showed all the three lines solid, it still didn't print the magenta.
THANK YOU! Very strange, I had the exact same problem you did, same color even the nozzle clean got better and then worse! Very strange?? Has your printer done this again?
None of my colors were printing in the nozzel checks and after multiple head cleanings. I was anxious about the Power Cleaning until I watched your video - problem solved! Thanks!!
I need to check my eco printer to make sure it still works with no missing colors because I haven't used in a while. Some of the eco tanks you can't replace the waste tank and which ones I'm not sure. Thanks for sharing! Tracey
I learned that about not being able to replace waste tanks awhile back. I think looking for a TH-cam video on the particular printer or googling it is probably the best way to know. Thanks so much for watching.
I am cleaning right now... the power cleaning fixed mine, i had did print head clean around 6 times then i did the power. Thank you, i have the same espon et02803
The power cleaning is definitely one of those last resort things, but I was about to throw my printer away so was happy I tried it. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Thank you soo much!! Mine wasn’t printing the black or blue ink! I freaked out thinking I was going to have to buy a new printer, I ended up doing the nozzle check and head clean and magically the blue and black ink print again!!!
I'm glad it worked for you! I was in the same situation - I was so worried I would have to trash it. So I was really happy when it worked. Thank you so much for your comment.
Awesome!! Thank you so much. I was thinking that I’d have to take my printer to a repair shop or try to find completely new ink tanks. You saved me. Much appreciated. 🙏🏼
Thank you! This worked for me. I would like to avoid it clogging in the future. For me, the problem started after printing a couple of Google maps in topographical view. They were quite dark and used a lot of ink. I wonder if this is why or if anyone know how to avoid this problem?
I'm so happy it worked for you. I'm not really sure what causes the clogs. Mine started in the middle of printing 50 memorial button images. Seemed like there was no rhyme or reason why it happened.
I totally understand how you feel about the power cleaning function. It can't be used very often or you will fill your waste tank, but it was the only way to save my printer from the trash:) Thank you so much for watching!!!
Hi Marilyn. I have an Epson 2720 eco tank printer that isn’t printing the right colors. I found the last page I printed after doing a nozzle clean and a head clean. Would you believe it’s also my blue that isn’t printing. I wasn’t getting the blue to print after doing another head cleaning. I did 3 more head cleanings and it still wasn’t printing the blue. The next step like you said was the power clean. My tanks are between 1/3 and 1/2 full. The blue being half. Thank you for your advice. I don’t know if I’m going to do the power clean. I have to think about it. I’ll let you know!
So so so grateful for you!!! I had an issue where my eco tank was printing only light black with lines in between. Did the power cleaning and it's back to the original print!!! Thank you thank you
Thanks for video! Didn't have to do 'deep' maintenance, just repeated nozzlechecks fixed it, thanks. After all print problems i thought it couldnt be fixed by something so simple.
That’s wonderful!!! If you can get by without doing the power clean, you save more of the life of your waste tank so I’m glad the nozzle checks worked 😃
Hi! :) Same issue here with my black ink and et2800 converted for sublimation. Worked just fine then quit in the middle of a job. Did head cleanings, multiple, started to clean up then other colors quit printing. I finally got it working again, all colors with multiple purge files. That was 2 weeks ago. I haven't used my printer since, while printing a sheet it quit half way through...ugh!! I really didn't want to do power clean, so i did a little more digging and someone on another site suggested changing to another print setting and I printed on glossy, and it worked just fine!! I normally use premium presentation paper matte. so after 2 print tests with glossy photo, I ran test with premium presentation paper matte, and nothing, nadda ,zip, zilch and zero. I tried it on plain paper setting and nothing. Any idea as to why I can get it to print on glossy but no other setting? This printer is practically brand new, only used a few times.
Quick question my 2850 is not printing yellow I did the head cleaning, but not the power cleaning, 1st how much ink is aprox used. Second I mainly print in black, and not colored, should I power clean or wait until I need the color, will it make a difference? My pri ter is less the a year old and I do use it 3 to 4 times a week, since I got it at Costco I could take it back if I could find receipt thanks for video
The power cleaning is a last resort option because it does use quite a bit of ink and uses up part of your waste tank. I don't know the exact amount of ink it uses. With your printer being so new, I would look for the receipt and take it back. If it were me, I would do the power cleaning before I really need the yellow. That way, you will know if you need to get a new printer in order to print yellow. If you wait, then you may not be able to get done what you want to get done later if the power cleaning does not work. I hope it all works out well for you.
I also have the same printer for sublimation im nervous to try that afraid it will ruin it ...i cant aford another printer right now..And dose it take alot of ink to do this??? Thank you
I have this exact problem - my yellow and cyan aren't printing (Epson EcoTank 2720). My color ink tanks are all almost 100% full and the black is 3/4ths full. And just 2 days ago everything worked fine. Go figure. It says to wait 12 hours after cleaning the print heads 3 times (like your experience - the nozzle print outs got worse!). So I will wait and tomorrow do the Power Cleaning. Fingers crossed!! Maybe my old HP wasn't so bad afterall?!
I hope it works for you. When mine quit printing blue, I was in the middle on printing out a lot of button images. The first ones came out fine and then it just started getting worse and worse. Not sure how that happens, but it did:)
Mine didn’t have the power cleaning option but i found out if you hold the power button and the help button at the same time until it turns black, then it will ask you if you want to run power cleaner
Yes! Power Cleaning was the key! Mine is an ET-2720 and the keystrokes were a bit different to get there (had to power off, then hold the power+? to get to the power cleaning mode), but it totally worked. Thanks you. :)
Thank you so much. i have the same problem and was thinking of purchasing a new one since my printer is already 4 years old. but it work, saves me alot.

I’m very frustrated as I just bought this printer in the summer, I barely use it and it’s already been having so much problems. I looked at reviews before purchasing and most of them were positive but the print quality is some of the worst I’ve ever seen.
I'm sorry you have had such a bad experience with the printer. I have been happy with the quality of prints using the default drivers for the printer and have only had this one issue with it (and I was ready to throw it away when it happened).. Sounds like you got a faulty printer possibly.

same issue only it was the magenta.
I'm glad the video was helpful. Fortunately, I have not had any further issues with the printer:)
None of my colors were printing in the nozzel checks and after multiple head cleanings. I was anxious about the Power Cleaning until I watched your video - problem solved! Thanks!!
I'm so glad it worked for you. It is definitely a last resort option, but worth it to try versus throwing the printer away:)
It's same problem with you ma'am @GretchenBirdwell.
Thnk you so much ma'am @MakingwithMarilyn ❤❤❤
It's really helpful
I need to check my eco printer to make sure it still works with no missing colors because I haven't used in a while. Some of the eco tanks you can't replace the waste tank and which ones I'm not sure.
Thanks for sharing!
Tracey
I learned that about not being able to replace waste tanks awhile back. I think looking for a TH-cam video on the particular printer or googling it is probably the best way to know. Thanks so much for watching.
Yeap. My eco printer blue is totally gone. Clogged. Trying to get up and running
I am cleaning right now... the power cleaning fixed mine, i had did print head clean around 6 times then i did the power. Thank you, i have the same espon et02803
I'm so glad it worked for you too!
Thank you so much! I was afraid to do the power clean but after watching you, it works great again. Thanks for the video and the tips in the comments
Super news!!! I'm glad you were able to get it to work. I was ready to throw mine out the window when it wouldn't print all the colors:)
I cannot thank you enough!!! I thought for sure I was throwing this printer away! And now I don’t have too!! ❤
That’s great that it worked for you!!!
Thank you so much Marilyn I was ready to throw the printer out the window but your fix has working great again.
Yay!!! That is awesome and I'm happy it helped you.
I wasn’t sure about the Power Cleaning because of all the warnings!! Thank you for posting this!! It worked perfectly with my Epson ET-4800.
I totally understand how you feel about the power cleaning function. It can't be used very often or you will fill your waste tank, but it was the only way to save my printer from the trash:) Thank you so much for watching!!!
THANK YOU !!! This did the trick and your advisements were super easy to follow. Much thanks to you on this Thanksgiving day :)
Thank you thank you
That is excellent!!! Thank you for letting me know it was helpful.
Thanks for the video! Without your help I probably had toss away my new printer! I just follow your instructions and fixed my epson ET-3710. ❤❤❤
That was the point I was at too:) Thanks for watching and commenting!
I’m sorry but I don’t know why it work on the glossy setting but not the other. Seems so strange. That sounds very frustrating!
My yellow prints super light? What could it be or is that normal? Yours yellow looks nice and bright.
When you print something with yellow in it, does it match the yellow in your image?
Hi. My printer is beyond power cleaning..i pulled it down ti manually clean the heads but it is really clogged...back on it this weekend
I hope you are able to get it back working! Thanks for watching.
I have an Epson ET-8550 and this troubleshooting video was a life saver.
I'm so glad it was helpful!!!
This solved my problem. And you were correct it did use a lot of ink, but it was worth the fix.
It was my last resort. I thought the printer was going to end up in the trash:)
Would this help it printer better? My printer is still fairly new but I notice it doesn’t print as bright as my HP did.
No, this is only used as a last resort if your print head is clogged. Thanks for watching!
I was having the exact same issue and the power cleaning solved the problem.
This video was really helpful!
Thank you very much! I'm glad it solved your problem also!!!
I also have the same printer for sublimation im nervous to try that afraid it will ruin it ...i cant aford another printer right now..And dose it take alot of ink to do this??? Thank you
Yes, I would never do this except as a last resort. It takes quite a bit of ink and to me, an even bigger issue is filling up the waste tank.
Not sure how that happens, but it did:)
this printer may accidentally "fall" out the window. OOPS
Do you have to wait 12 hrs before using the printer to see if the colors are fixed?
No, but they say that it can continue to improve for 12 hours. I would print right away to keep the inks flowing through the print head.
Thank you, I bought the ET-15000 and no color when I set it up. I did this and it worked! Thank You!
You're very welcome! I have an ET 15000 too and I really love it.
Mine didn’t have the power cleaning option but i found out if you hold the power button and the help button at the same time until it turns black, then it will ask you if you want to run power cleaner
Thank you for sharing that information in case others have the same problem.
You’re a life saver!! Thank you for your very detailed and easy to follow instructions.
You're very welcome. I'm glad it was helpful!
Yes! Power Cleaning was the key! Mine is an ET-2720 and the keystrokes were a bit different to get there (had to power off, then hold the power+? to get to the power cleaning mode), but it totally worked. Thanks you. :)
That is great! I'm so glad it worked for you.
Thanks so much for uploading this! I had exactly the same issue, no cyan at all, and the power clean solved it!
Great!!! I'm so glad it worked for you.
Thank you so much I’ve been fighting for 3 hours! This was so helpful you have no idea 💖💖
Yay!!! I'm so glad it was helpful!
What do you recommend to fix my red from coming out magenta 😩
So when you try to print red it comes out magenta? What have you tried so far, if anything?
Thank you so much. i have the same problem and was thinking of purchasing a new one since my printer is already 4 years old. but it work, saves me alot.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
🎉 Thank you, I thought I tried this before and it didn’t work, but this time it worked! I’m so happy 😅
I'm glad it worked for you! It's so frustrating when our machines quit working.
Same happend to me gonn give this a try doing many power cleanings can mess up the pads
Yes, I used it as a last resort.

Oh my goodness! Thank YOU! It worked. I was freaking out all weekend.
I'm so glad it worked for you!!!
Thank you so much! I was ready to give up on my printer. This worked immediately!!
That’s how I felt too. Was ready to trash it🙂
Thank you so much! Had magenta stop printing halfway through a photo and this fixed it in one go 😊
I'm so glad it helped! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Your solution helped me too! I had exactly the same problem (with cyan) and your video was just what I needed. Thank you so much x
You're very welcome and I'm so glad it was helpful!!! Happy printing.
Thank you I have the same problem with the blue
Did you get your blue to print?
@@MakingwithMarilyn
Yes working perfectly
I have a ET 2810 and there’s no screen. I’ve done 5 print head cleaning and still no magenta 😭 any help please
I found a short video that might help th-cam.com/video/Wq9idYHrTLM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vMTbbOwmoV_laHng
I have the exact same issue but mine is the ET 2811 with no screen. Help!
Here is a video of an Epson Ecotank without a screen. Possibly it will be helpful. th-cam.com/video/H5Fvt0UAjL8/w-d-xo.html
A printer is saved, thanks to you!
I’m so glad it worked for you too!!! I was about to throw this printer out the window before discovering this🤣 Thank you so much for your comment!
Thank you! You are a very good teacher and very smart!
Awww, thank you so much!!! I learned this from someone else, but I appreciate your comment very much!
Just did a power clean then a nozzle check.
Working good TY!
I'm so glad it was successful for you!

Your advice worked like a charm! Thanks Marilyn!!
