So... it's not as easy as just changing the maintenance box is it? I've changed mine, but still have the message saying my ink pad has reached the end of it's life. Now I find out l need a programme that needs a reset key. Yet another extra cost. Where do l get one for UK & the programme to reset it on for windows?
@@Lorna955That's right because nobody tells you that these printers count the pages printed. Its not really anything to do with the amount of ink in the sponge If it were, the printer would work once the sponge is changed, cleaned or the whole maintenance box replaced. So they advertise these ink tank printers with enough ink to last 3 years... but that's not true if you have to pay for a new maintenance box in roughly six months.... or less, is it? Canon does the same thing with the Maxify models but you can't even reach the sponges because they are internal. So all of a sudden this isn't looking quite as revolutionary for ink printers as it seemed at first. Ink cartridges are fiddly but can be refilled quite simply. 🤔 Just another way to make money 🤨🇬🇧
Got my new et-8550 but I read the instructions wrong and did the initial charge for the ink tanks without the inks in them and added the ink after. What do I do, how do I charge the inks now? I did reset the ink tank levels to full afterwards but it did not resolve my issue.
Well here I go! My box is coming tomorrow and for the ants in my pants I opened it up after I ordered to see how it looks like!😅 I really love the fact I might have just saved myself from buying a new printer bc option #2 going out of state to get it serviced was not it! Thanks Printer Guy! I was not going down without a fight - Homeschool Mamabear
You may also need to do a cleaning. There's three levels of cleaning one is printhead cleaning. It's a standard one next to a power cleaning belt one is major and uses a lot of ink and finally there is cleaning which is a manual DIY process you need to use the best printers, clean kit for that.
I haven't been able to find anything online myself. I'm also curious about what changes have been made to the ET-2870. Has the printer been modified in a way that makes it impossible to service it yourself? Dear @BestPrinters comments?
So I have an hp and tired of paying for instant ink and was considering eco tank. My hp has never needed this kind of maintenance so I’m not sure it’s a good option.
I had an HP Office Jet Pro that was amazing and I finally wore it out. It cost a mint to keep quality ink cartridges - so I went with an eco tank. It is no where near the print quality and the maintenance is a hassle. Eco tank is not worth the savings in my experience.
@@Thomas63r2Agreed, me too the Office Jet Pro 8620e. Brilliant machine to this day but I honestly think they are built to fail. I have bought a number of second hand ones since but none of them worked and the sellers knew that, claiming that they did. All seem to have the same print head problems and I've spent a fortune buying new print heads, or cleaning and dismantling used ones.. only for every subsequent printer to work briefly and then stop also🙄
Doesn't the printer have a monitor that tells you when to change the maintenance box/ink pad? My ET3760 has 4 ink gauges and a maintenance box service life one. From my understanding, once that empties, it won't let you use the printer.
You bring up a good point. The only issue is that unfortunately that monitor is far behind when it comes to detecting the tank being full. In my experience, a printhead issue occurs well before that monitor, error, code comes up, changing your maintenance box before that message pops up on the screen is essential to making sure your printhead does not get clogged.
I have the ET-2500, which is probably the first model. There is no opening, door or removable panel for a maintenance box. The ink pads are probably buried deep inside the printer. Do you have a solution for that model?
Dude great video, I have a 4760 eco tank, and I see the maintenance box like at 60% but I always wonder what that was. After watching your video I’m fully aware of replacing that when time due. Thank you so much.
i t would be awsome if there was a video on what eco tanks reset themselves automaticly once the maintance box is replaced. from my understanding not all of the ones with the chips do and they have to goto a service center wich isn't cheap!!! i know my 3760 resets itself once the maintance box is replaced
Brandon, I've been 'binge-watching' your past videos concerning the Epson eco tank printers. I have an Et-3760 that my late Wife bought in 2021. When she passed in December 2021, the printer never got used again. Until now. As you might imagine, the printer system is quite clogged. We've been trying to run test pages, but not clear yet. I purchased your best cleaning system, and as soon as it arrives, I'll be pulling ink out of the tanks, through the hoses, then I'll perform the nozzle cleaning, fill the tanks with fresh inks, and perform the power cleaning. I believe this should revive this printer? 🤞 I didn't want to buy a new printer, since I believe we'll be able to salvage this one, and I've moved overseas (Philippines), and electronics can be quite costly! I'm also using a 220v-110v step-down transformer to power the printer, since I believe it only has 110v capability, unlike a good portion of my computers and chargers, which will operate on both voltages. If I'm on the right track for my ET-3760, I would appreciate the feedback, or advice. Thank you
Hi Jerry, yes you are on the right track. If you have any questions along the way feel free to reach out via Amazon. This is the best way to reach me. I am the third party seller on the best printers kit.
DO NOT BUY the Et 2875 300 dollar repair when the ink pad is full! Head is constantly making Lines on the prints so we did head cleaning a lot. Not supporter by any wic reset softwares. ONLY Get a printer that is supported by the wic reset softwares. These printers are very good on ink price but that is where the fun stops..
My Epson ET4850 has printed almost 9000 pages in about 2-3 years, I have just ordered my 4th set of ink bottles. Best and cheapest printer I have ever used bar none.

Hi, Which is for the Epson ET-4750? Thanks
Hi, which one is for ET-2720?
I have same printer and it’s my understanding that the maintenance box can’t be replaced on this model.
This sounds like my issue, but I am not seeing one for ET-2850?
It's the 2800 series, they are the same . It's the white ink pad.
Yes correct.

Sure thing!
Can the maintenance boxes be cleaned instead of replacing them?
Unfortunately no.

That is correct, and I would not put some third-party item in your printer

Never mind, I found a video that explains how to remove the ink pad reservoir and wash out or replace the pads.
Hi unfortunantely the maintenance box is not accessable on this model.
Excellent info but i cant find my model

used a chip resetter and also removed the cotton pads and replaced it with clumping cat litter. scoop as needed. those cotton pads are bad news.

what
this printer is crap
Sorry
My Printer has printed 6 pages in its live time and had not printed anything but blank pages since EPSON printers are the worst
My Epson ET4850 has printed almost 9000 pages in about 2-3 years, I have just ordered my 4th set of ink bottles. Best and cheapest printer I have ever used bar none.
Chances are the system is clogged, or has an air pocket in it. Ink tank printers, need to be used very often.
I wish I had this video 2 years ago before my epson printer broke down and stipped printing 🫠 but still good to know what the reason is now
Sorry about that.
@BestPrinters but thankfully I learned a lot about printers due to that 💪
