I just wanted to express my gratitude to you for this video. The blue and red ink on my printer were not printing at all and I've spent a week trying to figure out how to fix it. On the Epson website I read their warning against Power Cleaning so I tried just about every other piece of advice I could find (except for pulling the machine apart and injecting some type of solution directly into the print nozzles), with no results. Reluctantly, I was about to go ahead with a Power Clean when I happened to stumble onto your video. It's taken me 2 days and many many sheets of paper, but my printer is now back to normal. I cannot express how grateful I am for your advice.

I am sincerely grateful that I clicked on your video seconds before I was about to do a Power Clean procedure as advised in another video. Thank you so much for your clear, straightforward explanations and instructions. After 20 purge prints throughs and 3 power cleans, it worked! Grateful also to the comments for encouraging me to continue this procedure after many print attempts! Phew! Bacon saved!

Thank you QuickSPI! And thank you to all those who posted comments here. The comments were great to read while I was running the purge file prints and head cleanings. I tried 9 copies of the file at a time and an occasional cleaning. Many iterations (like 50 prints). Nothing and I was starting to feel it was hopeless. But I kept reading posts while I ran the prints and cleanings. Then just like magic, after I'd done two cleanings and a nozzle test page, I ran two prints and CYAN appeared! Yes, do not give up. After a few repeats of cleanings and prints of the purge file, I had all three colors printing fully again. Wonderful. Best of luck to all newcomers.

yes! I just went through this process this weekend and also appreciate not only QuickSPI, but all of the comments, yours specifically @amykanai851 I would've given up if you had not specifically stated how many times you went through it before you saw results. I kept trying and was so thrilled to see those little blue lines show up on the nozzle test page. During the process, I did lose magenta briefly, which was definitely discouraging. Another cleaning & purge file fixed that though, so before long I was up and running with all colors printing with no streaks. Thank you

I know you say in your video that the Epson ET-2720 can be cleaned out but cannot be replaced...HOWEVER, My ET-2720 tank filled up and I was getting the end of service life error on the printer. I was able to order a new tank with media already installed on Ebay for about $10. Once it arrived, I simply took out the old tank and inserted a new one, downloaded a VERY simple to use, free program from wic.support, paid another $10 for a reset code, and voila! Ink pad warning gone and new tank installed...all for about $20 bucks. I am truly thankful for your video here explaining how to create a purge page to help prevent this. My ink counter said I had only done 7 power flushes over the past 2 years and my tank was full! This will (hopefully) keep me from having to do this again in the future!

This video really helped me. Magenta had stopped printing entirely after only a few months. I did 6-7 cycles of 1x head cleaning and 5x attempts to print a magenta only purge file and miraculously began to see magenta ink coming through (although patchy).
Unbelievably, once the magenta was 'working' again, yellow and cyan completely stopped, almost as if deliberately programmed to fail. I repeated a few more cycles of head cleaning/purge file printing before eventually all four colours work working properly.
Many thanks @QuickSPI for such a helpful video! No power clean required :)

So I tried printing my yellow rectangle about 20 times and gave up because there was zero trace of yellow (ink is 2/3 full). Left the printer for about 2 hours. Came back and tried again. OMG, what a shock... the yellow is back!
Moral of the story...leave the printer for a while and come back. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!

This video has been invaluable!!! THANK YOU. My Epson ET-2750 is 7 years old. About 3 years ago, the nozzle clogged for the first time. Thanks to this video I have never power cleaned. Today, I thought the nozzles we just done for. I've gotten 2x as many years from my Epson from any other printer I've owned so felt okay with buying a new one. BUT after half a dozen head cleanings and purgings....it works like new.

I have the ET-2760 and was about to give up and do the power cleaning because none of my colors worked. After trying to printing 30+ of the purge pages and still getting all white, I started reading the comments and tried alternating the purge page and then head cleaning and that did it for me! I still had to repeat the process a couple times but I'm sure it used less of ink than it would have if I did a power cleaning and it didn't fill up my maintenance pad. Thumbs up!

I was just about to do the power cleaning when i saw this video on my recommendation so i said let me watch it before doing the power cleaning...and now after like 20 purge sheets and a few head cleaning i finally got my cyan and yellow colors back so THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH 🙏❤️
Epson should include a feature that let us print purge papers depending on what color is missing so that we don't have to waste ink on the power clean thing.

This worked for me!! It's genius, thank you @QuickSPI and I am shocked that @Epson doesn't have this information on their manuals in the troubleshooting area?! Like many of you, I also was mere clicks away from power cleaning after being led astray from another video. Don't do it!!
I made my purge sheet in a Google doc and used the table feature to make the shapes. Tip, when you fill in table with the hex colors, don't use a border color. That way it prints the paper blank until it's working and you can reuse the blank paper later. I also alternated with nozzle cleanings and printing purge sheets (10-20 at a time), and issue cleared up within 40 minutes. All three of my colors weren't printing so I made a rectangle for each color on each page.

Thank you for the instructions and to all those whose comments were very encouraging to persevere. Epson ET-2760, cyan dried up during Christmas break. Two rounds of purge page 10 times plus head cleaner in maintenance setting and now it's back to normal! I no longer have to go over my printing with a blue colored pencil like I've done for the past 3 months!

I don't have Microsoft word, so I used Google Docs to create my purge file of Magenta, just an fyi for anyone in the same boat. After many failed times, it finally worked after following a few tips including: 1.) Alternate between printing the purge file and the print head cleaning and 2.) Open the cap to the problem color. Also, my purge files didn't print out completely white. All my sheets came out slightly yellow. At first I thought I was using the wrong color code, but in the end it all worked out. So don't worry if the same happens to you, and keep trying!

Wanted to add a point that if your Word (or other program) don't allow you to enter the hex code, the RGB values for the colours are...
    Blue - 0,255,255 (00ffff)
    Yellow - 255,255,0 (ffff00)
    Magenta - 255,0,255 (ff00ff)
    Black - 0,0,0 (000000)

Thanks for this video, helped a lot in fixing my moms ET-2760. I did have to preform a single power cleaning after many cyan purge sheet attempts. I avoided filling the purge tank by carefully fitting (shoving) a perfectly sized container under the nozzle in its place. A bit more than 40 ML of mostly black ink was used in the process.

The problem with using your tank is the printer does not care. It keeps track on how much it thinks you sent to the tank then shuts down. You have to reset the internal counter.

I am doing a happy dance! Haven't had color working for ages. All but the black color showed in my nozzle check. I created the word document suggested and kept running the color test with intervals of head cleaning. First pink appeared then disappeared. Kept doing it then suddenly yellow and cyan appeared. Ran just magenta test printing a couple of pages, then did a head cleaning and I now have all three. I am thrilled i happened upon your video (after praying 🙂). Thank you SO much!

This video was SO helpful and informative! I actually found pre-made purge pages online and used them to unclog the magenta and yellow inks. It really works but be patient with it! It took many printings and several cleanings to get there. The purge printings were just blank pages over and over. Not even a hint of ink. Purge printed several pages, then ran clean heads, repeated many times. Suddenly they printed full pages of color! Problem solved! So keep at it! Also the information about the tank on the 2720 and how that works is very useful! Thank you, thank you for this great video!

My 2803 wouldn't print yellow, can't tell you how many times (and days I worked on it) I tried a full color purge page, clean heads, open cover on color, let it set for a few days, tried again and again, then I read someone posted after trying to print a one color purge page, go back to printing a full multi color purge page, and finally my yellow worked, but then my cyan didn't work, cleaned heads again. reprinted a full multi color page ( cyan had horizontal lines in it this time) and another head clean, then another full cyan page. I really thank for this video, which explains things very well, and I didn't know how useful can be a purge file.
I would only add that from my experience the head cleaning can play a key role.
What needs to be underlined is that, if purge file only isn't enough, it worths to try a combination of the print head cleaning and the purge file before you go the power cleaning route.
But many times, and I mean MANY.
I have a 2750, the cyan was completely locked. I built a purge file with just on big cyan square, tried to print it I would say more than 50 times and I only got the page completely white like new.
I started to do some print head cleaning operations, then tried again the big cyan, still white... then again head cleaning, once, twice, print, cleaning, print... I was nearly giving up when the situation changed from a white page to full cyan square!!
Need to hang that on the wall, my wife will never understand...

I purged 50 pages of cyan and no result, then I run one time nozzle head clean and all went back to normal. What is interesting that when I got problems with cyan, the problem occurred olny on simple plane paper pages, printing photos was still perfect. Think the reason is that in photos ink consumption is much higher. Thanks for video, was good explanation and
    understanding about printers life cycle.

For me problems started after not using the printer for..a few weeks.
I printed a picture which came out pinkish all over, cyan was not coming out at all.
Then I ran a printer head clean and.. all colors except black disappeared! After that I tried so many cleanings (my printer model can't do power cleaning though) and test printings until suddenly cyan started working. But no other colors would come out no matter what I did.
Searched for solutions on youtube until I hit your video, which I thought seemed most promising. The idea of using a purge file with the missing colors sounded sensible and so I continued doing print head cleanings and purge prints. Nothing changed on day 1, but on day two after about half an hour of trying, magenta came back!! So now I've got black, cyan and magenta :'D

Another tip is while you do the purge for the troubled color, open the ink tank of that specific color, this will let the ink flow/recharged without any added pressure/vacuum. once the missing color is fixed, go ahead close the ink tank of that color back.

THIS worked. Not fully yet, I'm still copying away. But I started with absolutely no black ink coming out, to an outline of the rectangle when I opened the black ink tank. It won't print the inside of the rectangle, only the outline of it and it won't print words. So this is just weird. Every other color prints fine.

To add to this posting. Once you have the printer printing all, then run the full color purge once a week to keep the nozzles open. If you print like my and print a lot in black and white, the colors will soon dry up.

This answers the “mystery” of where does all that expensive ink go! I will have to create 4 “purge file” pages to give this a try. My nephew has 2 Epson Eco Tank printers with clogging issues. I came upon this video after viewing others. Now I see why Epson has you use a certain button power + ? on sequence to initiate a power clean as a last resort. Thank you for the great info!

Found this video to be really clever in saving ink when fixing clogged ink! I wished power cleaning allows the user to choose specific ink colors to "clean" that are experiencing the clog after examining the nozzle check rather than "cleaning" all ink colors right away where some colors may be just fine. It could easily be smarter. For the time being, I will be using your steps if I enconter another issue untill that feature has been realized. Thank you for presenting this great alternative method!

Thanks for the purge file suggestion. I did everything I could to avoid power cleaning but a single nozzle was printing black instead of magenta and only a combination of a power cleaning followed by a magenta-only purge page did the trick. I have a maintenance tank chip resetter and several used maintenance boxes (which the material can be replaced with tightly wadded toilet paper or similar) so my lifespan should be fine. However I don't think I would have been able to get past this without your purge page idea so this video has been the most helpful of all I've seen. Many thanks!

At first it wouldn't print hardly at all, then after a few nozzle checks and head cleans it would print in black but refused to print in any color at all. I assumed it was clogged because my ink is full. Now it's working again, the purge file came out great as well.

I was about to give up on my Epson WF-5620 multifunction cartridge printer which I've had for 7 years as I couldn't get the magenta to print other than a dirty greyish brown sort of colour, obviously contaminated by other colours. I had a 2760 with all colors not printing. I first tried the print head cleaning using the product control panel but no colors printed. I tried the purge file about 10 times with no color printing. I returned to trying the print head cleaning repeating 5 times. On the 5th try, a little black was printed using the nozzle check. I tried another print head cleaning 5 times and the print was then perfect. Lesson: repeat the print head cleaning many times, be patient!

Excellent Idea...lesser waste of valuable ink....and the ability to see on paper the cleaning results...like head cleaning in the past. Thank you...I have a ET 2803 and will be using this method to maintain. If Epson or someone else could install a switchover valve from the existing ink tanks to a cleaning solution tank (attachable to the exterior when needed) to be used for power cleaning purposes and allow the maintenance tank to also be cleaned and drained of the cleaning solution/ ink. It would be a win win for the consumer and a big seller for the manufacturer who could also sell the cleaning fluid.

I've tried almost a hundred times over several days on my 2720, I've even tried warming the printer with an hair drier to see if would help liquify the ink but to no avail, I think I really have to resort to the last resort. And I think I'm justified given I have no cyan and no black. Not even being able to print in black and white is pretty terrible.
