    Just a Korean passing by. FYI, KIMCHI IS TRADITIONALLY NOT VEGAN. It has seafood in it (usually fish sauce and shrimp, oyster, etc). So before you purchase any, make sure to check if the kimchi you're purchasing is vegan! Thank you so much for the recipe. I'm totally trying this recipe!

I always used to take hummus sandwiches with some veggies on the side, then I'd add it when ready to eat so the bread wouldn't get soggy. Or leftover stir-fry - always an easy/fast one 😛

      When I was in university, our cafeteria was really bad so I didn't want to eat their food. I had like 6-7 salads on my rota, or sandwiches as Sadia suggested. Leftover pasta dishes make great "pasta salads". Or look out for fingerfood that's easily transportable. Veggie muffins. Wraps. Check Sadias school/work lunch videos! Good luck with school!

      Vegan meals would definitely be the way to go if you are at school and don't have access to a fridge. I would recommend containers more like this if you're going to be stuck eating at school, they're the ones I bought for my husband's work lunches and they're super great imo. Do NOT put the plastic lids in the bottom rack of your dishwasher, you can put the cutlery on the bottom with other utensils and the glass bottoms, but not the lids.. They will melt a little. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V7GYC53/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    I was actually super impressed with that first meal! Typically when people have a meal that's Korean inspired, the only thing that's legitimate is the kimchi but you actually really did have lots of Korean flavors! In fact, if you take out the edamame and sub rice for the noodles, you've basically got bibimbap! Awesome to see.

      why not just layer in containers you already have. Then no need to transfer when ready to eat? I really wonder what the benefit of using a jar is because so many people are doing this now. Does it keep more fresh?

    • @Emilia497
      @Emilia497 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@tuh1cax my guess is that it keeps it fresh. When you have them layered like that, the soggy parts don't touch everything. The things that supposed to stay crunchy, actually stays crunchy. You can't really layer them in containers. Everything will just sit side by side in containers and make it go soggy faster.

    I struggle with finding a sense of fashion that I enjoy being a female. Through social media and society’s portrayal of women, I find myself craving to wear tight or sexualized garments that I’m not comfortable in. Sadia has such a beautiful, elegant and confident wardrobe that I often wonder how she found her “sense of style”. I’d definitely love to see a video on any tips or tricks PuL could offer to people struggling with finding this style or even funds (maybe something in regards to thrifting in order to save money or benefit the planet). Just an idea/request, if possible!

      I think it has to do with the Dutch culture. Sadia is living in the Netherlands.
      The way women dress is a reflection of the culture in the Netherlands.
      This short video is about international Dutch language students, talking about Dutch girls: th-cam.com/video/Ggg6Cex8MBo/w-d-xo.html
      And this video more about the (related) Dutch culture in general: th-cam.com/video/Ut4la9Sfk_U/w-d-xo.html

      Society is toxic and no matter what they make you feel like women is never enough and is constantly shoving fashion, trends and "ideals" (of face, hair, clothes, etc) leaving us in constant frustration because before we reach those standars another trend is realesed. I dont think it takes a lot of effort to find a sense of style but i think it takes a big one to learn to ignore society. Most of us probably have a sense of what we like or feel comfortable in, its just society and the standars that makes us feel like we dont.
      Embrace yourself, do and wear what feels comfortable to you. Try a style not giving a second to think in society, think of you and yourself only.
      And dont get to stressed over funds, also capitalism makes us feel like if we dont crave for a lot of things we arent doing the right thing. Try to use what you have now, even revamp your clothes if you feel like.
      Sorry for the long comment. I hope you find your style and be safe :)

      If you are in the US, (I'm only intimately familiar with American culture), thrift stores; garage sales-stop at every one you find and rummage in the clothes, drive a bargain with the seller; storage unit sales; dumpster diving if that's your thing; clothing banks (like food banks); and inviting every woman you know to bring an appetizer and a bottle of wine over one night, and also bring the Hefty sack of clothes they're done wearing that lives at the back of every woman's closet I've ever known, and swap with everyone there. There are also "free boxes" in some cities that can be goldmines. 💕

      I think finding your style is key. You can then go to thrift shops or second hand stores frequently to find your clothes. I have known people who have done that

    Dear Sadia, this is what I needed in my food preparations. I am just a beginner to "meal prep problems" but it has been a real solution to these quarantine times, to eat healthy and not spend a day in the kitchen. You helped me a lot, thank you very much for all the good advice !! And I also take advantage of practicing my listening skills in English, because you speak fast. Greetings from far away Chile!

    Hey Sadia❤. A big fan of yours here. I just love your recipes and your soothing voice. Never change.
    You inspire me to become plant based. I am usually plant based but I haven't yet told my mom about my vegan diet. I fear she will say no to my diet as she'ld feel that I will lack nutrition this way😔. I wish I could inform her about me going vegan in a way she agrees to it.

    • @PickUpLimes
      @PickUpLimes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Know that she comes from a place of love, Saamya. It might a huge transition from what she's ever been taught and known. That's completely understandable. Keep working to learn more about vegan nutrition, preferably from reputable sources, so that when you have a discussion with her you can show your maturity and show you've done research. A wonderful book that might help get you started is called "Becoming Vegan" by Vesanto Melina and Brenda Davis. It's written by two registered dietitians, and they share everything from the basics of nutrition to the more technical stuff. There are more and more people in the medical field and more and more research papers showing the vast array of benefits of following a plant-based lifestyle - it just takes some time for this to become more common knowledge. All the best with your journey 🌱
