Does your 720 have the skinny connecting rods? Heard it was becoming a problem for the 720’s to grenade themselves but haven’t seen it first hand.
@@shize9ine It is a launch edition car without internal engine work, so it 100% has the "thin rods".
However, it was dyno'd at about 12k miles and before the mods right at about 695 whp, which tracked with most other stock cars at lower mileage. After the mods, it was making about 790 whp on the 93octane map and 870whp on sae109. Just recently had it dyno'd again at ~19k miles and, thankfully, there's no power loss, so no indication of bent rods.
@@Rebourn135 appreciate the detailed response!
This is just for my algorithm which is now filled with cottage core stuff. Need more cars.
Quirk City in here, is that a ‘The Rehearsal’ joke?! 😂😂😂
"License and registration please?"
"Uh, officer, I would have to open my ton o cover for that"
Nice timing Doug. McLaren’s new 2024 F1 livery just dropped
Doug's the kind of guy to review the quirks and features of a McLaren 750S at 5:21 in the morning
cool i only need another $349,999 to afford one
Like me you have the downpayment for Dougs ham sandwich..😂
The video you did on the 720 was what got me watching your channel.
Styling is nearly 7 years old, but seems older than that to me. Probably because all McLarens tend to look the same and the 570 came out even a few years before this. Gets stale.
Will never be as prestigious as a Ferrari or Lamborghini
Sadly you need to buy a van for a mechanic to follow you around also.
How dare you..
Quite easily@@douglasgreen437
Says someone from experience.
@@norfolkronin6307 Not McLaren but i owned 2 Range Rovers which have a similar build quality, turning a car on and wondering what fault it will be today gets old fast.
@@martj1313 That's right. When I turn on my mum's Skoda. Really it's a buggatti.
Hey Doug, FYI the McLaren logo is actually a stylised Kiwi bird also due the McLaren/ New Zealand heritage. The Kiwi is our national bird and is native to us down under Cheers Bruce K, Auckland NZ
This is possibly my favorite color to ever be on any car ever. It’s the perfect purplish blue
I find doug's assessment of what makes an "enthusiast car" a little frustrating.
Sure, brand history and can be something enthusiasts desire, but it is not what makes a car an enthusiast car, it makes it a collector car.
It this same video, he praises the handling, power, and steering, three things that enthusiasts desire.
My favorite McLaren feature is that each paddle shifts up and down. It’s so cool I wish other companies did it as well
Doug says this isn't a supercar for enthusiasts, but I disagree, because I think "enthusiasts" means people who actually want to drive and enjoy their supercar. What this isn't is a supercar for "collectors," because it's just another McLaren, but that's actually a good thing from an enthusiast perspective, because these will actually get driven and won't just be purchased and then locked up to appreciate in value.
Those wheels are unfortunate 😂
There are storage cubby holes on both doors, you just drop the little flaps.
The gaps in this car is srsly wide bro😅
It’s British, why are you surprised?
Doug, "That's exactly what we needed, more wing". 🤣😂
