Hey doug, loveur vids, i just wanted to say that thats not a spoiler, thats a wing because spoilers spoil air removing drag while wings are mostly for down force and if anything can add drag
He might’ve given it a higher score if McLaren didn’t make so many models based off of its design after and that statement remains true by just comparing it to its brothers like the 675, 570, and all the other three digit brothers it has and it’s brothers who are HyperCars or just about
I honestly don't get why he mentions this "all mclarens look the same"-thing so often. If you ask a member of the general public to name a specific ferrari, porsche, lamborghini, etc they'll struggle just as much, and I really don't think this is any more similar to a 570 than the LaFerrari is to the sf90/458. I honestly think this is one of the greatest modern car designs, the sculpture at the back is insane, so to denigrate it simply because someone with zero car knowledge might theoretically confuse it seems obtuse.

Really enjoyed this review. Never really associated this car with laferrari or 918 due to all the reliability issues but now I get why it is. Love all the F1 inspired performance.
You’d think that a “car guy” like Doug would know what the McLaren logo represents. The original logo was a racing kiwi but that was replaced a long time ago with a square design that evoked a chequered flag. That was then replaced with the appears they have now (and have had for 30+ years) that represents the vortices that come off a reaching at speed.
Fun fact: yes the air scoop for the engine is on top of the cabin in the center. Normally, when a mid engine car has a roof scoop you don't get a rear window. The air tunnel just go straight down into the engine bay. But you do on the P1 because the air tunnel quickly split to either side of the car leaving a gap in the middle for the rear window. And another quirk, you can't see _the_ engine from the outside window, but you can from the center rear view mirror. The roof scoop on the P1 is a recall to the F1. But on the F1 it's a special case because the driver sits in the middle and Gordon Murray put rear windows on either side of the roof scoop and the driver get two interior rear view mirrors.
This supercar's performance is mind-blowing, and I get how special it is. That being said, the interior fit & finish looks so low-end. We are talking about a 2 million dollar vehicle so maybe it's just me, but it looks kinda cheap inside.
