  • Taylormade P7MC Irons The ULTIMATE Players Iron? Have TM got it perfect when it comes to the Players sector with this iron. Is there really a need for the MB when the MC provides all the feel of the pure blade but with a touch more forgiveness. Really should be on your list of irons to test if you are looking for more of a purist irons choice.

    I’m a 60 year old, 7 iron swing speed at 80 mph. Used to be a low single digit handicap, now a 6. I want to get back down to around a 3 or 4.. I had an iron fitting a couple weeks ago, and the fitter had me hitting P790, Ping 525, JPX Forged. I was spinning the ball, indoors with a ProV 1X DCT ball, at less than 4000 rpm, launching around 18 and descent angle of around 41. I need more loft. I bought these because of the 34* 7 iron, spin is up, launch, peak height, and land angle is all up.

    I've been playing the P7MC's for two months now and they are incredible. I'm 65 yo and have a 2 handicap. I've been playing all my life, so I've almost always played blades. The MC's are absolutely the most beautiful and easy to hit irons ever. I started with the 5 to PW as my base set. I have since added a 3 and 4 iron in the P770. Makes for a great combo set. I am considering reducing the loft of the MC's by 2 degrees to get another 5 to 7 yards distance and lower the ball flight a little. I do have a high trajectory ball flight. I might lose a little amount of spin but I think it is a good trade off for more length.

    Great reviews on the P series irons! I play the 2020 version of the P7MC and the P770 in a combo set and love them! I have the 770 in 4 & 5 and MC 6-P. I had about a 17 yd gap between the 5 and 6 iron so I had the MCs bent 1° strong and the 770s 1° weak. I completely agree with your review that the MC is more forgiving than the marketing gives them credit for. These are the best most consistent set of irons I’ve ever played. Which is saying something because I came from a set of MP18-SC and I thought nothing would ever knock those out of my bag!

    P7MC are my favorite irons this year no doubt. I played with them a couple of holes and as you say, the consistency and feel is just amazing. They are however a good club shorter in distance compared to my 2019 T100s and I just wished the MC’s had an S-version too! I still consider gaming them this year just out of pure vanity of feel and looks, but I’d probably have to combo with 770’s 5 & 4 iron to get the most out of them. Interest forgiveness test! When I tried them it seemed like I just could not miss the center of them for some reason (not my normal) but good to know they actually are not as punishing as one could expect!

    Curious you might be reviewing the TM hybrid irons as well. I’m very curious how that iron compares to the others with slower swing speeds. Love your content.

    What are the best irons you have tested on toe strikes this past year?
    Mizuno JPX 923 HM Pro or MP 225 or TM P 770?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely out of the above its the JPX923 HM Pro.......... Something to come close to the HM Pro would be a G430 maybe 👍

    How would you compare these to the jpx 923 tour?

      +1. Perhaps the 221 also?

      I tried the 923 tour in a fitting as well as these. These not only felt better out of the sweet spot than the 923 tour, but also still had tighter dispersion on mishits. Have them coming from 6 to pitching wedge with the 770s in the 4/5 iron.

    Please compare all the data numbers of a forged blade and a 28 deg game improvement iron.
    But you must find a blade club that matches the distance of the 28 degree game improvement iron.
    Forget about the number on the bottom of the blade.
    If you need a 4 iron blade to match the distance of the 28 deg 7 iron . Then so be it.
    I am so tired of spin comparisons of a 7 iron blade and a 7 iron game improvement.
    Thanks...

    • @sammarcotte3056
      @sammarcotte3056 ปีที่แล้ว

      These guys are fitters, the irons they get are usually all 6 or 7 irons only. They would need to buy an 8 or possibly even 9 game improvement iron, with their chosen shaft to do this comparison you’re talking about.

    • @golfish8589
      @golfish8589 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sammarcotte3056 what you say is true. But it doesn't change the fact that spin should only be compared with clubs that go the same distance. Height is also a a stopping factor
