    Billy is one of the BEST builders in the USA. He has been my custom builder for well over 5 years. From my Hogan PTx's, to my current Wilson Staff CB's to all my wedges. Cannot speak highly enough of his skill and all those at KBS Golf Experience.

    If you’re in Florida, Moon Golf does the exact same thing but with every brand of shaft/club. Fitting bays 20 feet away from the build shop. The builders go through the exact same process. I’ve had them build my entire set, drive to lob wedge. Pure’ing, swing weighted, exact length, lie and loft, and with tour level quality control.

Double checking the shaft length against the grips, you had me bloody nervous there, had me wondering if scottsdale did mine right haha. Only difference is I'm probably not good enough for it to make any difference.

    Oscillation is quite hard to dial in by eye, nearly impossible to rely on for any proper tour level build. SST Pure is the only way to find this individual, single point down the shaft where we ultimately find the shafts' principle plane of oscillation.

    Yeah...KBS ex is pretty cool...they fit exactly to what the customer wants...I had some concerns intially about fitting my old parallax irons to D4 with money taper 125+ but they assured me it would not be an issue... perfect customer service and focus. Its not a cheap service but you get what you pay for. Ping just production build quickly like robots and shaft using this crazy air cannon which ruins alot of shafts in the hozel. But these are made by hand with love and care and top expertise....what's not to like?

    Is the spine meant to be installed at 12 o’clock looking at the club head at address or 3 o’clock?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen both ways in terms of marking the shaft position and I think Billy marked it to be at 12 O'clock but you want the spine at the target. Obv 3 O'clock changes if you're a lefty. I have marked them in the past like Billy but I know that mark leaves the spine at the target.
      Some people get deep, deep on this and go at angles or away from target etc
      I'll be honest I'm not one of those characters

      I love what I’ve got and fully trust TM from the videos I’ve seen of people here showing quality control. And my irons still feel great.
      Would it be possible to send them in and have TM redo the faces when they get worn down enough? Or I’ve heard that using mats has a higher probability of needing them checked for angles?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarineBand5524 Mats and lie angles is 100% a thing, so check them frequently. Redoing the grooves, that's a myth, TM won't do that. In terms of frequency matching, you'd need to send your clubs to KBS for them to retro build the irons again. Might be something you wanna consider.

    I will be 100% honest here and my intention is NEVER to talk about a great company like TAYLORMADE! I've been playing golf for 30 years, and sponsored by Taylormade since 2008. The company is AMAZING, however trottie, I am like you and honestly, Taylormade when you order a set of custom clubs, when you received them, they are not what you order. Last time, I order my set of irons swing weight D2 and I received them swing weight D7 and D8!! YES that big of a difference. The specs 1* flat and they came 1* Upright. Most of the times, happened this situation with Taylormade and is a real PAIN. I am currently playing Mizuno and my experience has been AMAZING in quality control if I can call it that way. May be too busy? Anyways this doesn't mean I don't LOVE Taylormade and this doesn't mean that the quality is AMAZING I am just trying to point out this to you since as far as I see the video, I am like you!
