    Had both, not a competition on my eyes. T300 is for people who want to get serious into sim racing on a budget, g29 is for people who aren’t serious enough about the hobby to spend the extra money for a better experience in the long run(not that everyone has to be serious)
    Can you win in any wheel as a good driver? Hell yes. Will the extra fidelity from a t300 make a giant difference? Also hell yes.
    There. Saved you 8 minutes.

      I had no idea if I would like sim racing as a hobby and bought the logi g923 with a nice discount. It was way cheaper than other entry level alternatives. Wasn't willing to spend more at that time, without knowing if it would be collecting dust within a few months. Turned out I quite like it, so maybe I will upgrade somewhere in the future. Until then there's plenty of fun to have. Not everything has to be so black and white guys 😀

    I bought a T300RS a year ago after having a G920 for 4 years and it really is an upgrade. The FFB is much faster and smoother and swappable wheel and pedals makes it a great option for everybody.
    If you can get the T300RS instead of the G923/29/920 go for it, its a better option.

    Sadly here in south america, Logitech is the only brand that gives us wheels at a reasonable price, Thrustmaster, Fanatec and all that stuff you have to import it yourself making something like the T300RS more than double the price of a G923, no Moza, no Simagic, no anything. Currently im doing ACC SRO esports in my G923 (Heusinkveld pedals tho) so yes, its possible to go decently fast with this wheel

    I used to have a g29 and it was fine, but I recently upgraded to the t300 but with the Ferrari 599XX rim, the T-LCM pedals, and the TH8A shifter. Although this costs a bit more than the base package, it makes the t300 a much more compelling package, the pedals are much better, and the rim feels fantastic, and has a wider diameter than the G29. Trueforce is a bit gimmicky except in the Logitech direct drive wheel where the implementation is very effective.
    Edit: I realise now that you mentioned some of these points, however the potential for upgrading within the Thrustmaster ecosystem makes it a no-brainer in my opinion.

    For me the T300 RS is the best option. Sure, the feel of the leather and the wide selection of buttons on the Logitech side is very nice but having the ability to change wheels and having other peripherals of the Thrustmaster side is a big plus. I'm happy with my T300 after 1 year with the G29 and felt like an upgrade honestly. Now I have options to upgrade whenever I can from wheels to pedals, and not to mention that I got the T300 (brand new) for around 270 euros, which was a super deal.

    • @vvs6433

      The main reason those wheels are so cheap is definitely the fact they are produced for such a long time, companies dont have develop new asembly proces and buy new machinery to make them. Its also just a wheel rim, electromotor and software. Theres really not that much room for improvement if you dont want to spend a lot more or go for DD. When companies want to improve whatever it cost it will only leads to abominations like wheels with flat bottom.

    Ive had a G923 for a couple years now, and would really like to upgrade to something more serious/precise, so I really appreciate this video. While I would love to dip into DD, I want something compatible with both PS (for GT7) and PC, so my only "budget friendly" DD option is the Fanatec GT DD. When comparing full setups (base, wheel, pedals), the Fanatec GT DD bundle is in an entirely different price bracket than the T300RS. For what it costs to get the cheapest 5nM GT DD bundle, I can get the T300RS, with upgraded 3 pedal setup (compared to 2 pedals w/ the GT DD), PLUS the $200 Thrustmaster H-shifter add on, and still have money left over.
    And when you look at the relative cost of what it would to kit out the Fanatec GT DD setup with a 3 pedal set, an H-shifter, and an e-brake, that price gap only grows to being undeniably a difference in kind. I desperately want to step up to the world of direct drive, but while its getting cheaper and cheaper (relatively speaking to the multi-thousand dollar top of the line DD bases) there is still no true "budget friendly" DD setup in existence. FWIW, when I say "budget friendly", I am thinking $800-$1K max for a complete setup (wheel & base, 3 pedals, separate H-shifter, and preferably E-brake).

    The Cammus C5 is about to flip the entry level market upside down if you ask me. $200 for a direct drive thats smaller than the g923 and has over DOUBLE the torque. the only thing is it doesnt come with pedals, but fanatec has the hookup with the csl pedals for $80... seems like just a matter of time before the used pricing of logitech wheels drops enough to create a new "entry level" that's probably 30% less money to get started in than today.

    Onky advantage for the Logitech G923 is the price point. But honestly, for $100 more you get a far superior product. Otherwise, spend a little less and get a wheel that you will regret not spending a little more to get the T300. Also the Thrustmaster shifter is miles better than the Logitech shifter. Pedals are also way better

    Just got the G923 2 days ago having never experienced another wheel or ever driven a car in real life or ever having a drivers licence despite being 22 years old
    its a lot different than what i expected... i am MUCH slower than my controller times , since Im basically trying to learn how to drive ... its like i have to learn a new language from scratch , but for my body , if that makes sense
    I chose the G923 over the T300 because it was 90€ cheaper in my country , and also I want to buy the shifter soon , which is 120€ cheaper than the thrustmaster one , and that was also a big factor in my decision
    I dont know how the T300 would feel in comparison to my G923 so I have no idea if it would have been worth it ... but i cant help but have a bit of buyers remorse when I both hear and feel the gears rattling when going over grass or gravel
    And I have no idea how different the force feedback is when I go over a curb between the two wheels , wish I could try the T300 one day to compare
    Other than that I hear people saying that while weak and not very detailed , the force feedback of the G923 is good enough to understand everything about the car ... but since I have no idea or reference point for how it should feel ... and because I am so new to this , I have no idea what the force feedback Im feeling means , even with full assists on I struggle to get anywhere close to my controller times and im almost constantly losing the car , missing my breaking points , etc...
    I have been playing for years with a controller so I guess it should be expected that I would struggle to learn this whole new way of interacting with the car... but still , when I go back and try to play with a controller it just doesnt feel right anymore... i feel like i have way less controll even though Im much faster ... and it doesnt feel as fun , and especially noticed just how fast the steering input went from 0 to 100 and how little control i had , even though I was much faster and was not crashing...
    Experiencing the wheel kinda ruined the controller experience completely , because I just cant go back despite how difficult my experience has been
    (oh and on top of everything, my legs get tired quickly and the break is too stiff for my untrained legs , and even though my arms still wanna continue steering my legs just cant keep up so i have to take constant breaks ... but even still I cant go back to a controller , its not fun for me anymore )
    Dont get me wrong, Im not regretting my purchase , I LOVE this new experience and the challenge of learning how to do everything from scratch , Im finding it really difficult , but I dont want to stop... even though my legs are really hurting as of me writting this comment
    I guess my legs are getting a free workout , without the need for a gym subscription ...

    • @chanwooksook
      @chanwooksook ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I have the same experience and the same kinda regret. The price difference was enough for me to prefer g923 (I didn’t even knew if I would like sim racing), if you combine logі shifter’s price. But know iam helping my friend with an advice to buy a wheel and as I understand t300 is considered better , and Logitech’s shifter is total shit compared to th8a one..so maybe i should have wait a bit and put more money into the bandle…
      But I like my g923 and have no complaints actually, and while I had similar to yours problem - stiffy brake pedal - I I solved this problem like this: I put on my converse shoes and fix the steering wheel so that it does not go forward.

    • @mariolis
      @mariolis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chanwooksook you get used to it , it gets easier the more you play
      also , IMPORTANT : dont use the default ffb settings, just google the game you want to play and reddit usually has the answer , also if you cant find the answer for the g923 , then copying the settings of someone with a g29 or g920 works just fine
      after you change the settings , the force feedback will feel great , and newer games typically have better ffb than old ones
      Examples of searches : "best settings f1 22 for g923" or "best settings nfs heat g29"
      also, the break pedal does soften up after the first few hours of use and then stays there , still not easy to press down all the way , but its manageable

      @mariolis ปีที่แล้ว +1
