    Amazing (almost) finished product, gentlemen! Shows just how much brain power, skill and work is put into making a real heirloom quality piece of American cooking iron. LOVE IT!!

    Looks great, far better than I could do. What's up with All the comments saying they would of done it differently? Firstly, It's not easy to build something when you have a deadline to meet. Secondly, Nothing is perfect, there's always room for improvement. So just shut up and enjoy the video.

    I spent the last two days laughing at the prices of these grills online, then I watched this. Your not charging enough, I had no idea how much work went into these. Great job!.

    Mancub just locked the wheels from rotating freely with his long bolts, used the wrong way around.
    But he changed those bolts and used shorter ones, thought nobody would notice hugh?? ;)

    Ok I don’t usually pick on the videos I watch. That said those are not pillow blocks that are flange bearings. They take the same bearing insert. Otherwise I am watching every part of this build. Great presentation.

    nice job y'all! talk about overbuilt. A few thoughts. BIG wheels. casters are good for hospitals, not BBQs on grass and gravel. -Don't need pillow blocks. save ya a ton of time. Grills move about .2 mph. -Don't need air slots in front, there is a ton of air from top and bottom. I think air is for smokers that are airtight. _ could you just put those flat grills on top of the Vgrates? that way they come off and you can use either at will? I put a sold plate on my grates to do smash burgers and fish. I put a piece of square bar up top so the plate dosent slide. learned a ton of tricks thanks!

    When my dad built our BBQ he put the door on the side so you dont end up standing in front of the door with heat directed towards the cook. If you have ever made a camp fire you know you can direct the heat using stones and dirt behind it, the same applies with a BBQ.

    I have watched the whole series of this build, and you are a true craftsman. Will you be taking any orders possibly building one to sell. I have been looking and researching to have one built. I don't need the added cnc grates and the bling you installed in the final chapter of the build, which was a nice touch to this gorgeous piece of art. Please let me know if you are interested in building for profit. Thank you for such a great series to watch.

    Beautiful build you guys are doing. Picking up some great fab tips in every video.
    You might want to reconsider using those urethane caster wheels. I have a large cart probably nowhere as heavy as this build will be, and they develop flat spots after sitting a while. They are a bugger to get started moving then. I took mine off and put on steel wheels. Runs like a racecar now. The floor this goes on might not like steel wheels, though.....

    You should have used the V grates on the grill top (cooking top), the point of an Argantian grill is so the greese doesnt fall on the burning wood and you have it at a 5 degree tilt for that reason, you should have build a greese trap as well in the front of the grill.

    I have that same Evolution saw. It hates a wide flat surface. Definitely don't cut 2x1 on the flat side. That saw and its $100+ blades loves as little contact as possible. Rectangle tubing and plate on edge, angle iron 90 degree cuts from the outside point down, etc.

    I have a wood fired cooking pit that I’ve rebuilt a few times. I’ve had it A LONG time. The last time I rebuilt the cook top I figured I’d pop for some stainless to make it even better. I was wrong. That stainless just twisted and buckled and warped from the heat of the fire. Those cook tops look awesome, but they are going to twist and bow and warp like crazy....unless he never cooks on it. Sometime in the future, I plan to rebuild my cook top with inconel or monel. Anyone looking to make a wood fired cooking pit, that’s what you need to use instead of stainless.

    I love this and want one now! The only thing I thought of with the face in the grill surface, while cool looking, might create an uneven cooking spot, or something falling through on the upper forehead part.

      Marine Raider-11 I purchased the cap through @bluecollarcaps on Instagram. She used my old cammie blouse as part of the fabric. She’s out of the country at the moment. Follow her to see when she’ll be taking orders again. The evolution saw is awesome. Wish I had one at the house.

    Hey you needed to drill/ plasma cut a "weep-hole" (in the center) on those caster wheel mounting bracket's. Also get yourself either a Brass or Lead hammer, to hit the Transfer Punch(s,) they will last a lot longer. So I'm assuming that you'll be driving through the state of Texas, and as you bemoan just how big the State is, just remember if you want to piss-off a Texan, just mention that if you were to divide the State of Alaska evenly into two part's, Texas would be the 3rd (third) largest. Whatever you do, don't mention that if you wait until the Tide goes out, and divided the State of Alaska, into three equal part's, Texas would be the 4th (forth) largest state. SEE, SIZE DOES MATTER.

    I bet the bolts are too long for the casters. You should never put flat washers on lock washers they may let the flat washers turn.

    It looks great, Buttttt…. Why would you put an automotive grease filled bearing unit on a grill??? and on the fire side?? your far better off just using a slightly undersized sleeve like you did on the middle support, though they are longer than needed and could interfere with the cable as it winds up on the lift axel shaft.

    Using a lock washer on top of a flat washer negates the whole purpose of the lock washer. Otherwise, pretty impressive.

  • @riickthespark
    @riickthespark 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    By using a flat and lock washer, you are defeating the purpose, as the lock washer is just locking into the flat one not a fixed surface.

    • @customhaines2510
      @customhaines2510 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not necessarily, the lock washer works in part by exerting spring tension against the nut, friction helps keep the nut from working loose.

    • @riickthespark
      @riickthespark 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@customhaines2510 The flat washer can still spin, even with the force of the lock washer. Best case would be to tig the flat to the caster assembly.
