I was surprised about when you talked about Canada's Wonderland's top 2, but I can agree it is interchangeable. For me, I love Behemoth the most, but sometimes, I even put Leviathan on top. I love the speed that Leviathan has, along with its airtime, but Behemoth has more of it for me, and I love airtime ~ But Yukon Striker is really forceful, so I even interchange that ride with Leviathan. For me, #2 is a hard pick for me between Leviathan and Yukon Striker.

Was not expecting my home park at #1. Top 10 sure but 1 curved my expectations but when I think about it they make sense. Ones a rapid fire airtime machine and the other’s a long intense hyper and both make the most out of their layouts. Sure the rest of the parks line up can’t really compete with that (insert boomerang joke) but that top 2 gives guys like me who have SFNE something to talk about and be happy with. Major respect to Chris for sticking with his unique opinions on certain coasters and not just going with what other people would say

There's two parks here in the UK that I've been to that I feel offer some good 1-2 punches in terms of coaster line-up
    1. Chessington World Of Adventures. Coasters: Dragon's Fury (Maurer spinner) and Vampire (Arrow suspended with Vekoma trains). Despite being more of a family-oriented theme park, both of these coasters offer great rides. Dragon's Fury is arguably the flagship attraction at the park right now, featuring some pretty cool elements including a vertical hairpin turn right after the drop, and a way to adjust how fast the car will spin by weighting the ride differently with the passengers. Vampire is the ride with more heritage, and features an action-packed layout that twists you through the trees and features one good foot-chopper element as you fly over a wrought iron fence. The last time I rode it, I was pleasantly surprised by how forceful the ride could be in the front row, and the ride is still really smooth.
    2. Alton Towers. Coasters: Nemesis (B&M Invert) and The Smiler (Gerstlauer Infinity). Alton Towers has one of the most well-rounded coaster line-ups in the UK, with each new coaster known for innovation and record-setting (even if their record is simply "first coaster of its kind built in the UK, such as the very first B&M Dive coaster Oblivion). Nemesis was the first B&M Invert to be built in the UK, and is probably the most intense ride in the entire country. One moment guaranteed to cause a few grey-outs is the Zero-G roll right after the downward helix, which you take at some speed. A short and sweet ride that will leave you in awe. The Smiler, by contrast, is a much longer ride, and it currently holds the world record for the most inversions on any coaster at 14. Unlike the previous record holder (an Intamin 10-inversion model called Colossus), not one moment on the coaster feels repetitive (aside from the back-to-back dive loops). Amidst the dense, twisting layout, there are even two airtime hills that are surprisingly good. In my opinion this is the best ride at the park (with Nemesis coming in a close second) and I can't wait to go back some day to try and ride some of the coasters I didn't get a chance to on my first visit a few years back (Galactica was closed for maintenance and Wicker Man was under construction)

Of the parks I've been to, I will pick 2 coasters as their 1-2 punch and rank them:
EPCOT and Animal Kingdom don't have enough coasters to qualify.
    14. Fun Spot Atlanta (Scream'n Eagle and Kiddie Coaster, the only 2 in the park. However, ArieForce One will be incredible, though it will make the parks 2nd punch very weak until they get something else.)
    13. Legoland Florida (Dragon and Flying School, those are the ones I enjoyed as a kid. Today, Great Lego Race would most likely be one of them, with Coastersaurus (which I didn't ride) likely being the other.)
    12. Wild Adventures (Twisted Typhoon and Boomerang. This park has the legendary Vekoma Duo, and they're both actually good. I prefer Twisted Typhoon, but these are objectively pretty balanced.)
    11. Fun Spot Orlando (White Lightning and Freedom Flyer. I love White Lightning, and while I still enjoy Freedom Flyer, it doesn't give the park too strong of a 2nd punch being a family coaster.)
    10. Hollywood Studios (Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Slinky Dog Dash, a pretty decent 1-2 but I only rode Slinky Dog Dash once so I couldn't justify putting it higher.)
    9. Magic Kingdom (Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. While I like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster better than both of these, I can't deny that these 2 are a bit more balanced. Add to that the fact that they complement each other pretty well and they're both classics and that's why I put these above Hollywood Studios. TRON will replace BTMR soon, though, and probably boost MK higher.)
    8. Fun Spot Kissimmee (Mine Blower and Galaxy Spin. While I like White Lightning better than these, these two are more even imo and complement each other really well for a small park. I can't ride Mine Blower back-to-back because of how rough it is, so after a ride, I can ride Galaxy Spin like 3 times and then I'll be good to go on Mine Blower again! That's not counting their other coaster, Hurricane, and their go-karts. It's easy for me to spend a day here and never get bored.)
    7. Busch Gardens Tampa (Cheetah Hunt and Montu, though once I get to reride (and ride Iron Gwazi and SheiKra for the 1st time) this 1-2 punch will most likely be much different.)
    6. Universal Studios Florida (Revenge of the Mummy and Rip Ride Rockit. These two are great complements. One is a dark ride experience while the other is a giant unique coaster with airtime and positive G's. It's quite the unique duo, and they're right next to each other!)
    5. SeaWorld Orlando (Mako and Manta or Kraken, I prefer Manta, but Kraken complements Mako better. Honestly, this park has a great 1-2-3 punch.)
    4. Dollywood (Lightning Rod and Mystery Mine. These are 2 wildly different rides that offer completely different experiences, but are both awesome! Honestly, pick any 2 coasters (other than Blazing Fury and Whistle Punk Chaser) at Dollywood and you've still got a solid 1-2. Heck, FireChaser Express and Dragonflier are one of the best family 1-2 punches out there!)
    3. Six Flags Over Georgia (Goliath and Twisted Cyclone. This top 3 was hard to choose. These 2 rides are incredible complements!)
    2. Islands of Adventure (Hagrid's and Hulk. These rides are already some of my favorites AND go together very well, but when I ride VelociCoaster, you know where this park is going...)
    1. Carowinds (Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike. I like Intimidator a bit more, but Copperhead just complements Fury so well. So much so that they sell shirts that say "Fury vs Copperhead!" You really can't go wrong with Carowinds' top 4 (or 5 imo))

Don't get me wrong, I love Maverick, but that style of intensity has been massively outclassed these days with RMC just running a masterclass in coaster design. Rollertoast Coaster Playlists Most don’t consider it a “true” giga, which is why it isn’t ever listed. They don’t forget about it, they just don’t care about it since it doesn’t have a chain lift.

Lowkey I was thinking you were going to forget about SFNE, (my home park), but I do believe it really is an under rated park. All they need is one major investment and they would be on their way to becoming an elite park

Energylandia probably has the best 1-2 punch in the world with Zadra and Hyperion. Also Phantasialand with FLY and Tauron has a pretty solid 1-2.

Cedar Point: Has two of the best coasters in the country/world in SV + Maverick
SFMM: Has TC + X2, both worse than CP's Top 2
Airtime Thrills: Cedar Point #3, SFMM #2

....but who has the most coasters at 19? Six Flags Magic Mountain, & who is behind with 17? Cedar Point that explains why Magic Mountain edged out Cedar Point in the rankings! Nuff said!

X2 is definitely better than maverick. Just because Coaster studios 4 years ago said it’s that doesn’t mean that it is.

Pinball 541 They have the same number of adult coasters. SFMM just has 4 kiddie coasters to boost its count while CP has 2

WWWWW. I agree that Six Flags New England has the best 1-2 punch in North America. I've been there many times and I can confirm that both of these coasters are incredible. People hate on the U-Bricks but they're fine honestly people are just babies. Wicked Cyclone and Superman are both perfection. Great ranking!

Nice list! We are both incredibly fortunate to have two of the very best coaster lineups in our home park. For Carowinds, I would definitely say Afterburn is the clear number two personally, even though I absolutely adore Copperhead Strike! I can't wait to get to SFNE just for those two rides. I agree with you when you said once that Superman has one of the two best layouts ever for a coaster along with Fury. To me, Superman's layout is just perfection.

The Wack Pack Okay while that’s an insanely ludicrous thought (Pantheon has that insane overbank, beyond vertical top hat, stall, and is an intamin launch), Apollo and Alpie are both good enough to be a top 20 1,2 punch in the country

    • @xavierdomenico
      @xavierdomenico 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The Wack Pack Gwazi might suck you never know. It’s not exactly fair to mention two new rides he hasn’t even ridden as the best ones and then disregard Pantheon..

The Wack Pack but it’s an intamin blitz coaster, Cmon where did you get that from. That is like saying “Iron Gwazi looks like an amazing rmc but you never know it might suck” BRUH

Wow great list. I have to admit that I'm surprised not to see universal IOA on there somewhere though. With an "old B&M" in the Hulk and Hagrid's motorbike coaster I would think they'd beat out the likes of Discovery kingdom at least. When the Dragons were there as the partner to the Hulk I would think IOA HAS to be there.
    Good stuff.

I'm glad that my state got #14 at least. Can't afford to go to Six Flags anymore, but K enjoyed it while I was younger and the entrance ticket was cheaper. I did get to go to Kings Island in '15, but didn't have the money or time to go inside to visit.

There's not much that I can tell you of if Yukon Striker is one of the best b&m dive coasters because Yukon was my first ever dive coaster. But nonetheless, I enjoyed it!
