This video is a complete review of Maverick at Cedar Point, from launch to brake run. Maverick. is Cedar Point's only (for now) launch coaster. And I feel that it gets overshadowed by its bigger brother next-door in Steel Vengeance. And while I can't deny that Steel Vengeance is the better coaster, Maverick absolutely deserves the same amount of attention in a trip to Cedar Point.

Maverick was THE roller coaster that ended the coaster wars. It proved without a shadow of a doubt or a modicum of uncertainty that bigger is not always better. Maverick was WAY smaller in stature than Dragster, Millie, or Magnum but in almost every way proved itself to be the superior coaster. It wasn't until SteVe opened that Maverick's reign as the king of coasters came to an end.

I love Maverick. It used to be my favorite roller coaster until Velocicoaster dethroned it. However, Maverick still goes strong as my number 2.
I can respect that. Velocicoaster is my #3 behind SteVe and Iron Gwazi, but that is because I prefer an amazing ride experience over outstanding theming. But it is still an amazing ride nonetheless!
After losing Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick is the only reason I drive to Cedar Point.
Excited to hear that Velicoaster is just as good if not better!

After 30 yrs of wanting to get to Cedar Point, I finally did. When I saw Maverick up close I thought, "What's the big deal?" Then I rode it. It ended up being my all time fav in the entire park, and I rode everything there. I should have known, since Intamin is my fav coaster manufacturer. They didn't disappoint me. I marathoned Maverick the next day. Awesome ride!
As to my all time fav coaster? I've ridden over 340 so far. Velocicoaster just does it for me. But Mav is now my second fav.
Nice! Steve is my #1 in the park, but Mav is close.
I went on this for the first time last year ON MY BIRTHDAY. When it was over i tried not to cry out of joy haha.
Spent 3 days at cedar point and went on this 13x through out those visists.

Love the video bro! I was at Cedar Point Yesterday but since its Labor Day Weekend it was PACKED so I was not gonna wait 2 hours for Maverick.

i went last Wednesday and the park was dead got there at 12:30
everything was a walk on except the 3 monsters they had 15-25 min waits and near mid to end of the day they all were walk ons. i rode steel Vengeance 6 times in 35 min(i timed it) maverick only twice cause i didn't have time to head to the back from rog at 7:55) magnum 4 times i didn't even have to get out of my train they let me go 3x in a row, millennium force 5X, Valravn 4X. Blue streakX3 didn't have to leave. all the B&M's and everything else but 2 and those 2 were just mine ride and corkscrew.
The last seat, at night, is amazing! That tunnel is crazy at night.
Haven’t got a night ride yet. But I have heard they are awesome!
I got stuck on maverick not too long ago. I was on the second launch when it stopped. Moved forward after a bit then finally launched from the slowest crawl when we were alr half way through the launch track. The launch was crazy

Got to ride Maverick twice in 2024, my first two rides ever on it! I love everything about it, but it feels a bit short. However, I rode Steel Veng 7 times this season…
I can see how someone could say it is a little short. I personally like SteVe a little more than Mav, but I feel that Mav deserves more attention
I still LOVE the Maverick but I did enjoy the ride more with the older restraints. The lap bar made me feel smashed down in the seat, I didn't experice that floaty, pop-up sensation during the airtime moments like I did in the original restraints.
Hot take! But I can see it. The old restraints definitely feel less constricted.

I don't think people walk up to Maverick and think wow that looks unamusing for one. How are you relating rmc being a wooden coaster repair company prior to creating the I box track to Maverick for two. Also, the train does have the capability to stop in the tunnel if ops are running slow. 0-70 is more fun as long as it doesn't take too too long because then you wonder what broke down elsewhere on the ride.
@GoodEnoughEngineering Fair points, I do compare Maverick to many of RMC’s creations as it definitely feels similar to many of their coasters. I never meant to compare Maverick to the Ibox track, purely the ride experience, and how Maverick was one of the first to use more compact elements as opposed to more conventional airtime hills and turnarounds of its time. As for me saying Maverick looks “unassuming” that was just to hook the viewers, and I do think Maverick is a pretty imposing ride. Anyway, sorry for my rant 🤣 and I really appreciate the feedback!
I didn’t think much of Maverick when I first got in queue, especially when it’s surrounded by huge mega coasters. It looked like a fun quick ride with nice inversions, and I knew about the surprise lunch as well. I don’t think anyone can actually prepare for just how violent and wildly intense this ride is until you actually ride it. It’s a toss up with Steve as my favorite Cedar Point ride, but usually my top because it’s so fun and unique.

In my opinion Tt2 is my favorite I got to go on a preview day for it, and it stoped us when we where getting the roll back on the top hat and me and my dad got to ride it twice he was light headed from the first time but I went again it IS AWSOME it’s my number 1. Also on the way down from the top hat is a little rough but the rest of the ride is fine I hope it opens next year I would love to ride it again this is also maverick is my mother’s favorite ride mg brothers are to scared tho
Lucky! My home park is Cedar Point, but even I didn’t get to ride. Granted I did not have a season pass, and because I have one now, I will definitely go to any passholder event for the park!
i got 3 rides on it once preview day the 28th of April, once opening day and once 1 hour before park closed for the day on the last day it ran(may 10th) and on all 3 trains(silver definitely was the roughest) so i was one of the first and one of the last to have ridden it and rode a few bucket list Coasters X2 Xcelerator, ghost rider, Hangtime and Tatsu plus twisted Colossus just 4 days before riding top thrill 2 so 2024 has been a Win. i got middle row, 2nd from front, and a Back row. and yes that twist down the top hat definitely had some bite, it tossed me left to right like a ragdoll, but made it more interesting. and that backwards launch was crazy. the black train back row was pretty epic that spike felt out this world i haven't been that Nervous for a coaster since 2000 when i first rode Millennium X2 and Tatsu had me going pretty good also, i miss them and top thrill 2 so bad i need more lol and @Thrill_Report im hoping to get out to great Adventure too soon, as cedar point is my home park. i just went to magic mountain(missed 5 Credits), Knotts(all credits besides MR., KI X3, CP X14, and Hershey park(3 day stay) this year. and i want to make El Toro my 100th coaster Next Year, im at 89 right now. wish i had some Coaster Friends to go travel and ride with

it's almost like intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion that has a lot snappy transitions that will throw you from one side of the train to the other, so you can't catch your breath.
I haven’t ridden I305 yet, hopefully I will get to KD next year, but yes they are very similar!

I hated the original restraints, the new ones are so much better

Unamusing launch coaster?? What are you talking about? Also the coaster war was over by this point. RMC has nothing to do with maverick? They work on old wooden coaster and the ideas from allen shillicke hill were alive before maverick? Seems like you're pretty young and you just don't realize the world existed before you?

Thanks for the feedback, even though I disagree. Watch a similar video from someone like ElToroRyan which will show that in fact many people thought Cedar Point WOULD take the record back. I can see where you are coming from about RMC, but that was just my opinion.
