It's on sale until 11/24/2024 $149 shipped. Picked up two of these, couldn't pass up the deal. To unlock the treasure from the ER4XR is to use a IEM amp like Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt. It greatly expands the soundstage, detail, it just makes the sound so much richer and really brings out the capability of the ER4XRs. I use an iPhone with VLC and side load FLAC files that goes directly from the phone to the Dragonfly at high bit rate. It's truly remarkable as to what these IEMs can do. Also, a tip on insertion. I use the foams. I roll and bunch them up in to nice even cylinders using my thumb and index finger as I slide them into my ear canal but I don't push it all the way in. I leave some space before hitting the limit then hold straight parallel with my ear canal until I hear the foam expand and fill the wall surrounding the ear canal. This greatly improves on comfort even if you listens to them hours at a time, you hardly notice they are even there. You will know when to let go when the outside noise start to muffle out. Enjoy your new ER4XRs!
Totally agree with you about the interest of the dual flange tips and the quality of the product. Once you get used to deep insertion system, I can't see any serious competitors in this price range.
I have the ER4 s and ER4 p - love them beyond words- my HD600s are rotated as often but for isolated IEMs nothing can come close for hearing it all clearly- I use the PASS WHAMMY amp with upgraded Ops and a dual burr brown DAC by TEAC Esoteric - no doubt the amp makes a huge difference in what you hear- I couldnt beleive how revealing these IEMs are- yes u have to get used to the in ear foam tips but I find them ez to use and extremely isolating - more than any other iEM. I have tried dozens of other IEMs but all of them are majorly flawed compared to the sonic signature exactness of the ER4
Can be dependent on tips.....I first used spin fits and I find them slightly v shaped but switched over to sony tips and I find them pretty neutral now. What tips you use on yours?
Fearless S8F is not that similar to Etymotic! I have both the 2XR and S8F. I would say the Etymotic is next level accurate and that includes a LOT of high end IEMs. I highly suggest you look at the Shuoer EJ07. It's graph nearly matches the ER2XR BUT with the most fun sound you can imagine. It's why I love it, ety tuning but funner.
Unfortunately the ER4 still deviates from the Etymotic target by about 4 dB at 6-8K which muddies up the sound a bit. And there's some excess 10K and above that makes the treble sound a bit thin.
i might afford borialis....but what about bass compared to quality planars, air, imaging, holographic outof head 3d soundstage, fatigue, distortion at high volumes, blackness of background, cohessiveness, lush, liquidy, and most importantly musicality.....

Ill be honest, without my es2se id already have hearing damage from playing Sax. IEMs are a must if you practice for long stints

Do the dual-flange tips have a big difference in isolation? That deep insert is a pain, but the iso is awesome on a plane etc.
LCD-i3 and LCD-i4 review time lol
Not exactly IEMs.
you watch audio reviews for living now?
Hell of a lot easier than making them.
And no, I've always had a full time job. And I enjoy it far more
do you like this than blessing 2?
Have you heard the er2? Seems like it could be nice budget edition of the er4.
Wait these are the new fabled 2 flange tips? ZOMG. I sold my other etys because the 3 flange bludgeoned my inner ears.
Comfort is not better necessarily but the detail is increased if the triple flanges sound muddy to you.
Better than 2xr?
Earned a subscriber as well. Great review!!!!

How deep is your insertion using the double flange?
Great video - thank you. How do you think the ER4 compares to the ER2?
No mention of sound isolation for the ER4? Almost like reviewing Sony XM3 or Bose QC35 without talking about noise cancellation.
How do the ER3XR and ER4XR compare?

Any sound differences between the tri-flange and dual-flange tips?
I didn't hear much different in sound, but in isolation tri flange reduce "blood flow" sound when you plug them in, while the dual flange did not.
The S8F might be too v shaped for you, the S8 pro is less v shaped.

Any amp dac you used with these ?
GR07x when 👀
new tips? might have to give ety another chance

plz review zmf verite
How deep does the penetration have to go... that scares me
Don't be
At the beginning it bothered me , now I'm sleeping with them in my ears all night
verite vs borialis vs elex vs quality planars

Just EQ, add 3.5dB at 7KHz. 10KHz sounds a little peaky but the rest of the top treble sounds pretty flat to me (if only slightly boosted).

The sony m9s? Detailed? Hahaha
Well to be fair they are but compared to s8f for me......not even close
First time to say first,
So first I guess
