Audeze Penrose Review | Audiophile Wireless Gaming Headset
The Audeze Penrose is the follow up to the Audeze Mobius gaming headset of 2018. The Penrose loses a lot of the gimmicks from the Mobius and adds highly requested 2.4ghz wireless connectivity, meaning you can game in it wirelessly unlike the Mobius' limiting Bluetooth connectivity. All of this combines to make it a great audiophile grade wireless gaming headset.

Apple AirPods Max Review | A Sad Departure
มุมมอง 3.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The AirPods Max are one of the most talked about headphones of 2020 despite their very late release. They have become quite the controversial online. Today you will get to see my thoughts on the AirPods Max and why I think it is a sad departure from the recent train of great audio products that Apple has been producing. Moondrop Illumination Review | Naturally Blemished
มุมมอง 2.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The Moondrop Illumination is Moondrop's new single dynamic driver flagship IEM. It is a nice offering with very natural timbre and a fairly agreeable tuning, but it's one downfall is a somewhat problematic bass region. Big thanks to Shenzhen Audio for providing these for review! The Drop x Sennheiser PC38X is a new collaboration between Drop and Sennheiser. It is the follow up to the PC37X gaming headset. While I think the PC38X is one of the best sounding gaming headsets for sale, it still a tough sell compared to regular headphones on the market. The HD560S is one of the most hyped headphone releases of 2020. A new audiophile focused product from Sennheiser is usually excited. NF Audio NM2+ Review | Buy The KXXS Instead
มุมมอง 1.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The NF Audio NM2 is a $170 offering that really doesn't do anything very well. It is an odd almost W-shaped signature with middling technicalities. For its price I don't see too much worthwhile with it and I feel the Moondrop KXXS is overall a much better pick for similar money. Big thanks to Shenzhen Audio for providing these for review! The S.M.S.L SP200 is a entry level headphone amp offering from S.M.S.L that uses THX's flagship AAA 888 topology. This means it is using the same amp topology as Benchmark's $3000 HPA4. Moondrop SSR rule
I own the celestee and I prefer to use it at home for music and watching movies, use it with a dac amplifier, is it worth considering the upgrade?
These EQ very well! Roon has a terrific AutoEQ with MANY headphone presets (most Stax are listed). The un natural quality you refer to goes away once they are EQed. These and most Stax are the go to for both Classical and Jazz (ACOUSTIC MUSIC).
But DT880 are harsh/fatiguing with their overwhelmingly bright treble and also they don't sound warm/fun to the ears, their sound is cold and analytical as far as I know and the PC38X is more warm and not harsh or fatiguing with its treble.
What is DAK or DAC? or DAQ?
For someone that talks about sound…. The way you talk and whistle…. Let AI do your reviews.
I have been listening to my Stellia for over 2 years now, though a Yamaha S1200 amp at home, and a Hip Dac when mobile. They are GREAT. They may feel like a helmet when you put them on, but once the music starts, you will get lost in their sound. They are Very comfortable, but if you are uncomfortable with people looking at you - do not wear them to the beach - because you are going to get a lot of looks.
It's on sale until 11/24/2024 $149 shipped. Picked up two of these, couldn't pass up the deal. To unlock the treasure from the ER4XR is to use a IEM amp like Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt. It greatly expands the soundstage, detail, it just makes the sound so much richer and really brings out the capability of the ER4XRs. I use an iPhone with VLC and side load FLAC files that goes directly from the phone to the Dragonfly at high bit rate. It's truly remarkable as to what these IEMs can do. Also, a tip on insertion. I use the foams. I roll and bunch them up in to nice even cylinders using my thumb and index finger as I slide them into my ear canal but I don't push it all the way in. I leave some space before hitting the limit then hold straight parallel with my ear canal until I hear the foam expand and fill the wall surrounding the ear canal. This greatly improves on comfort even if you listens to them hours at a time, you hardly notice they are even there. You will know when to let go when the outside noise start to muffle out. Enjoy your new ER4XRs!
important note: the plastic is not normal plastic. it's called Leona and it is reinforced with 60% glass fiber. the only way these attain a 330g weight is because they decided to use a space-age plastic.
Kind of disappointing that the trio has less detail retrieval than the u12t at higher cost, precog mentioned the same. I don't think the 1ish khz dip does it any favors, it's an area that I generally want to be emphasized b/c I listen to a lot of guitars and it just makes them and vocals sound very muffled. The NDH20, older Audeze models and Hifimans are examples of having the same characteristic.
Would the chord mojo 2 be able to drive the LCD3? Thanks!
12:30 because soundstage isn't a real thing? It's a voicing trick. Most music recordings don't even have the correct time domain information to give real soundstage. Imaging, on the other hand, is a real consequence of hi-fi.
gold 2 grand.. silver 350 bucks
Just picked one up for 760$
most of the reviews for these are good ,with a few bad ones .I guess I'll find out when mine turn up ?
does this work with ps5?
Out of all reviewers i came across, you're the weirdest one..
It's been 9 months since last comment Loving my Dunu SA6 With Astell & Kern sp1000m dap Nice match Thank you so much for your content Your channel is so helpful You rock 🤟🎧 Thank you
This LCD X should be renamed LCD GC for Grand Canyon.
Ill be honest, without my es2se id already have hearing damage from playing Sax. IEMs are a must if you practice for long stints
660 should be mobile device friendly as impedance and sensitivity are same as HD58X If your phone works with HD58X, you will have no problem with 660 either
PC38X is actually a good everyday headphones for all purpose HD599 ear pads can be used
Only for gaming purpose, i get any boost using a burson playmate 2 with thse? Thx!
Quality headphones are NOT designed to be dropped. I'm pretty sure that's the company's thinking here.
I am currently an owner of chord mojo 2, but I am planning to upgrade the DAC to the RME. I hope there will be Improvement and general sound quality will be better on the RME. The decisive factor towords RME is the myriad of sound options. Love your review :)
what the hell is that mongrel monstrosity on the right hahaha he6 with audeze headband and mr speakers pads
Great review, love learning about the differences in the lcd line up! Thanks :)
With the comments here about the sound compared to what this review says, it's weird there are no replies from the reviewer or even a new video about it.
Are there better comp gaming headphones now? or is the HD 800/s still the best?
Absolute tryhard, lol. These are for critical listening, a better way to spend your time anyway.
@AKG I bought the AKG #K371 headsets and they are garbage. I rarely used these headphones, and after about two years - the ear pads are falling off and the headband is shredding as if I've taken them to war. I have the Audio Technica R70 and those things are a beast. I have had them for at least 4 years and they still look brand new as a testament to how well I take care of my gear. Really disappointed #AKG
Oh, LED brightness.... phew 😅
4:50... Wait, what? Brightness level?
What I appreciate about your reviews, as someone who's heard many headphones, is that you make lots of comparisons whereas most other reviewers will only focus on the one the review is about. Really brings things into perspective.
I've been on Drops website and I have to say, it sucks. Look a a list of products, pull up one item and read about it but when you want to go back to its list, instead it brings all the way back to their home screen. This is February 2024 and I just got the signature can amp 6xx and the newer signature DAC pulse which adds more digital inputs and the latest Bluetooth HD
At the price i paid about 8 mos ago, (350) i thought they were a steal given the sq. Go figure.
I just upgraded from and old pair of SHP9500's to the PC38X's and absolutely recommend them for music and gaming. Everything is relative, and in this vid you say the PC38X's are not particularly detailed. You obviously are much more knowledgeable and experienced with many different headphone/headsets, but if there is one word I'd use to describe the sound from my PC38X's it would be detailed. When I listen to music, the individual instruments stand out from each other wonderfully and the enjoyment is certainly greater than any headphones I've ever used. My experience is also fantastic in games, with the soundstage and sound detail being just amazing. Yours is one of the only reviews online that is this level of critical of the PC38X so I just wanted to add my "layman's" opinion of this headphone. I'd say my only negative for them is the clamping force you mention...it is quite strong. I stretched mine out overnight on the box they came in and now they are more comfortable.
These vs denon d7200 in sound?
Heretic!
Given the huge number of comments that dispute your conclusion that the soundstage is very narrow, I find it very difficult to believe the reliability of your conclusion. You either had a defective model, or you did not press the cable properly into the jacks, as suggested by some commentators. I am going to ignore your review and buy one, on the basis of the detailed assessment of No Theme Review, as supported by a lot of your commentators. Thanks for your review anyway.
Straight to the point ; Subscribed
Crazy that you like the GX the most ! Nice Video
your unit must have been defective
im listening to it now, 12t, its not too far off as price suggests def good pick, youll listen what 18t owners listen
660s is amazing. Got it for $350 new.
easy to understand, informative review; thank you
What the hell does “plastic-y” timbre mean?
Hi can you help what's good dac/amp under 1200$? Thanks
Still waiting for the update video with your impressions of running the HE-6 off the Vidar amp. Do you still own these? Are they still your daily driver?
R70x have amazing tuning but piss poor resolution
Ironically when I started watching this video I did not have the adi 2 fs but by time the video ended it had arrived. Obviously therefore my thoughts are at this stage are speculation but I guess I will know soon. You made one comment I hope I will disagree with. You called the sound "Dry" . I considered MANY DAC's including the Schiit Bifrost 2 64 ,and the Dodge 7 . The first at approx. £200 less sounds like the perfect DAC for someone who just wants lovely sound without messing around. the Dodge 7 on the other hand at twice as much being a valve DAC is said to be comparable to a £20000 to £30000 DAC. I chose this one(RME) because I think that given the endless refinements you can make in the settings if I end up not licking the sound then it would be my fault for not doing a good job with the settings. You call the sound "Dry" and yet you have sett your EQ totally flat and haven't even tried to see if you could Taylor it to your taste.
