    I'm happy they removed the step of clicking on Search when adding nodes cos I could never get used to it and I always started typing right away, which always lead me to having some random nodes popping in...so it added at least 3 or 4 extra steps for me each time. This is one of those tiny changes that are actually a real time-saver for sure ! Thanks for putting that video together once again !

    Incremental Saving is a Blender feature since i started. So way over 10 years ago. Apparently the community forgot about it, which is interesting. And makes clear these changes where very needed.
    Its curious how basically the first thing i learned when starting with blender got completly lost over time.
    HEre is old more complicated way:
    - go to "file" - "save as" or press crtl-shift-s
    - press the little plus sign next to the name hit enter or press "save as"
    so its 2 clicks more and not easy to find on your own. But it was very common community knowledge. So i think that's why i took so long to implement. Blender grew so much it just got lost with the generational shift with new teachers.

    the only thing that stops me moving to blender is the ability to change subdivision on primitives/ wireframe geometry attributes after they've been applied. In cinema4d it's so good to adjust throughout the project and it does my head in when I try out blender. If there is a way to replicate this workflow i'd move over straight away

    As someone just starting out this sounds quite exciting.

    • @TysonBrazilleYHWH
      @TysonBrazilleYHWH 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are putting in enough hours on a weekly bases, that first year you'll more than likely start working with the tools well ahead of your 2nd year. Terms will often come and go and is oftentimes based on relevancy to the work that you ultimately plan to focus upon.

      @@TysonBrazilleYHWHFor now this is simply a hobby as I like learning things at my own pace.
      With that said roughly 6 weeks in and I've been able to learn a lot about the UI thanks to already knowing Gimp as well as having fun with the Unreal Engine a few years back.
      I'm currently working on remaking my apartment in low poly and it's quite fun.
      By terms I mean learning what Extrude and Inseat do. While others I can learn the context based on other art programs I've known.

    Two things mentioned there I use in 3.6 so they are preset for current LTS users, my search in 3.6 always shows the last thing I searched at the top of the list. Second thing is glare in viewport compositing does work. Last one is kind of on the fence, but there is technically incremental save, it's just under Save As, little plus sign on the side of the file name. But having it's own menu command/shortcut is definitely more convenient

    • @Lightly_Salted
      @Lightly_Salted ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re right Glare does work in 3.6 but it’s broken. It creates a different level of effect in the viewport compared to the render. Hopefully they’ve fixed this in 4.0

    • @SupperGammer
      @SupperGammer 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a simple explanation why. Glare node, like many other (if not all) compositing nodes is relative to the render size. The bigger the render size the smaller the effect and vice versa. Since the viewport render tends to be smaller sized (in terms of resolution) than the final render you get such effect. Same goes for the transform node and probably a bunch of others. This might be solved if the node was resolution aware and scaled the effect based on the ratio between current render size and the one set for output. @@Lightly_Salted

    • @Lightly_Salted
      @Lightly_Salted 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have read somewhere that it’s being worked on, my workaround in the meantime has been to set up a ‘preview glare’ node and a ‘render glare’ node and switch between them at render time. It’s annoying if you forget to switch it though!

    Yo Ducky, thanks for the cool updates. I learned from a bunch of your audio visualizers in the past and I’m on your Patreon. Potential topic for you…Blender still seems limited in audio sync. F-curves are cool but that’s limited to waveform interpretation, not individual actions you want to sync and still, controls are so so, mostly by splitting freq ranges. Has anything improved with making actions happen related to music in the timeline? Some of the node tools you used were cool but still slip from audio grid because the video frame rate is always different than the audio time signature. I’ve explored a lot but still find it extremely time consuming to get Blender to cooperate with Music for a professional result. The default seems to be that you would change your audio to suit Blender. If any improvements, would love a vid on that. Thanks. 🖤🍭🫶😎

    Hopefully, they'll have gotten rid of that fucking render glitch I've been dealing with.
    Whenever I render an animation using a rigged model in Cycles, the render makes said rigged model look like the topology is glitching all over the place.

      Had that in glitch as well in one or two cases... it's always a rigging/transformation problem i think

    I think after almost 10 years of using blender, I still don't use 99.99% of the tools. But I'm hopefull one day when I will have enough skills I will be able to create an asset

    Hey Ducky3D, will you update your motion graphics course to use the cool new effects?
    P.S. I think they might have included that recent search feature at some point, because I searched for something (I forget what) and, when I did it again, that last search was top of the list.

    Hello Ducky, really love your content. I know you've been asked this a lot but would you actually recommend blender for motion design now or should I learn Cinema4D(without any other engine). I have worked some with both but I find Blender gets better and better plus it's free and I really don't want to start paying for C4D to use redshift and other stuff( I am not a professional so I don't want to buy it)

    Hey Ducky. theres alot of talk about filmic and now the new agx color management, and its all good. however when doing motion graphics i cometimes do stuff where a client can be very picky on logo colors, on a part of logo or background of logo and so on, however, when using Filmic, it can be very hard to get the correct RGB color on an object, and sometimes i can use hours to try to adjust it to get close, cause when i just paste in the normal rgb for the color it looks noware near it in render, do to light / reflections and Filmic settings, and some say, you need to use Standart then, but then light blows so easely and you miss alot of the soft lovely look that filmic gives...... How do you cope with this problem doing motion graphics, how do YOU get exact colors using filmic in blender, or do you edit and adjust in post in photoshop og edit after ?
    and how is AGX on this topic vs filmic and getting correct colors in situations like this ?

      Great question for the community as well. My guess is developing a reliable post processing system, which can be pulled off internally as well. I suppose motion graphics falls under the umbrella of the color grading process?

      Maybe look into colour grading, like in DaVinci resolve or something, idk I don't know nothing
