The AI and skill tree need a ton of work. I'm not the only person who finds Payday's skills uninteresting. I don't like activating buffs so that I can turn them into other buffs and so on, feels like an MMO in my crime shooter. AI just stand around waiting to be shot, they're really no better than in Payday 2 or The Heist, and in many cases far worse. Cloakers announce their presence and don't leap over short objects, barely feel like they're hiding, and often don't shoot at you. They never hide in a crowd and jump out at you. "Zappers" feel like they never actually try to zap you. For a sequel it feels like they're taking steps in the wrong direction. How can AI get *dumber* in a sequel?
I really need skills to be fleshed out better, too many skills have the rotational effect Rush>Edge>Grit>Rush. You sacrifice a buff for a buff for a buff and it's fine but it's like their entire system was built around it. As for AI, I expect nothing, I just wish I could choose their loadouts like in 2, dunno why they got rid of that system.
When i clicked this i expected some big name channel with over a 100k subs so i was shovked to see the views below a thousqnd. Really good retrospective, nice to see someone actually somewhat positive about the game having hope about it. Personally i quite enjoy pd3 even if its not as good as the previous, but that last part really killed me. Its a damn shame who were likely not gonna get any more real quality content. But hey, a man can dream. Right?
I'd say the Houston Breakout and Fear and Greed are worth it if you plan to play the game for awhile, but if you're not seeing yourself playing more than a week, don't bother.

Renaming themselves from Overkill to Payday 3 on TH-cam. Do they deliberately deface themselves are they only that game now. Must be, and I agree on the odd proportions why don't they reuse the layout and just make walls destructable and turn square rooms modular with bangable entrances and heist variation parts instead of what they're doing now having an off proportioned copycat which lore-wise is the same map? That's some Bethesda redcon tier behavior and such an awful game making flaw. Had they hired modders instead of streamers can you imagine the transparency and the speed patches'd roll out? Man it is a high change of an absolute mismanagement, deliberate or not.
Oh and the "influencers" they hired weren't even paid they just got to play it early and were forced to make 2-3 positive videos and an open line to freely decide to make more content for free. Even their sponsors are mismanaged they tell the word community managers were HIRED, don't pay them don't openly say they force them suggesting they want the world to think they're on a non disclosure eat poison and promote or be dropped pipeline and ruining everyone's reputation as a result of it. They can't do anything right, but not so suprising however as most studios are bogged down with leashes, pyramids and peer pressure.
I know they can do better, they've proven it before, and I'm gonna Huff copium a little longer and hope they can bring it back like they did with P2. They just have a ways to go with this, if that road can even be paved still.
I think payday youtubers are way to relaxed on Mio (or on the game as whole if youre the kknowley), when he alone basically caused the game to fail. The guy was acting smart by changing the core gameplay of the game (the armor system, and some specials) and ended up making the game feel alot worse. I dont get how these bad devs always seem to get these jobs and ruin the game for everyone else and then get defensive over criticism and then lash out at the fans.

From what I've learned about game design in my (admittedly small) time in the industry, the lead dev just has a louder voice and that's about it. He definitely had some bad ideas (ammo funnel and replenish) but I'm sure he was responsible for some good changes too. The armor system definitely doesn't seem to have been him since, if anything the new system they're trying to roll out now is a double down on it.

Payday 3 is a significantly better game than PD2 IMO. I 100% PD2 on PC, X360, and PS4. Much better gameplay but far from perfect. It is worth noting that PD2 had an extremely horrible development cycle and required devs sleeping at the office and not going home in order to turn that game around. Your points about the PUBG collab are a bit off though. PUBG - this is a work for hire contract. Krafton is paying SBZ to make this content for PUBG. SBZ has stated PD3 has not made a profit and this work for hire contract brings in guaranteed funds. So many people are overlooking this fact. SBZ needs cash and this brings in cash.
